Lip balm only gives temporary solution..and if you don't spend over $1.50 on lip balm then the lips get worse. Is it lack of water? my lips are driving me nuts (not to metion someimes they bleed) :annoy: :wasted:

Do you lick your lips? If so, stop.

I always just used chap stick. And don't lick them when you go outside if it's windy and cold.

Not that I mean to, but I guess it happens while I try to bite the dead skin off.
Still...these chapped lips have lasted for at least 2 weeks now
cocoa butter then vasoline...
wet your lips lightly first then apply both... go to your walgreens or cvs an get some in the small tubes an keep em with you. trust me they work wonders together...

You should be drinking a lot of water especially during the winter where heated air is very dry. It literally sucks the moisture out of your skin/lips. Before applying any chap stick/balm/vasoline, make sure your lips are moistened, because all those products do is really keep the moisture locked in, slowing down the drying process.
The same applies for dry skin, the best time to apply lotion is right after a shower.

Don't chew/bite/rip skin off your lips. Your lips should only be touching lips. Er, not teeth.
Carmex will RTSD. I use it on a regular basis and it will get better over time. I have to use it because I like to bite my lips alot. I'm breaking the habit slowly, but Carmex keeps them smooth and chap-free.

You might screwed. My lips have been "chapped" for 3 years. I've tried not licking my lips, chap stick, lotion, moister, removing the peeled skin, ect and they never heal. At best they look normal for a few days then they start to peel again. My best guess is it's from chewing on my lips. I guess the skin healed wrong or something and their is an extra level of skin so the excess skin just grows and peels off. I've though about seeing a dermatologist but I'm too lazy.

My lips have been chapped for some time now, like about a year or so. I seem to be allergic to something in the chap stick because every time I put some on, my lips get worse.
I use Vaseline Lip Therapy...I don't drink much water though. I should start drinking some everyday.

If you want to worsen the problem, use Walgreens brand "Chap stick".

Use like a brand-name lip balm, or vaseline. drink water, basically what everyone else is saying around here. Oh yeah, and don't drool.

This is the key to solving chapstic. But a boatload of it before you go to sleep at night. Just keep doing this every night and don't even worry about it during the day. Problem solved.

cosign. just put it on at night, and there will be a significant difference in the morning. shouldn't take more than 2 or 3 nights

Try to stay out of the cold/wind. Do what you can with all the ointments and shit people recommended. But winter is pretty dry and there's not a whole lot you can do.
