I got an snes from one of my friends today. It's been sitting for years. Anyway I cleaned everything up and popped in mario world, it worked perfect. I have 6 other games though and none of them work even after I cleaned the hell out of them. I'll make a list of the games and the specific problem each game has.

1. Mario World - Works 100% perfect.

2. Street fighter 2 - Graphics are all fucked up and the game wont let me control it. Once the title screen comes up it hits start on it's own and picks ryu vs ken. Again I cant do shit but watch and they actually fight it out doing special moves. WTF? All I can see is there very upper body btw.

3. Super street fighter 2 - Same as sf2

4. Xmen mutant apacolypse - Graphics look normal but once I get to the title screen I lose control again. It just hits stat, picks cyclops, loads the lvl but the guy is invisible and then he dies like 3 seconds later.

5. Mystic quest - Black screen doesnt load up

6. NHL 95 - White screen nothing loads up.

7. Pilot wings - It has graphic glitches and wont load passed about the 3rd screen.

Anyway wtf is up here? Is it the console causing these probs? Or are the games messed up? Mario seems to work perfect so I'm not sure what to think and I don't have another system to try them in.

try cleaning the hell out of your SNES cart slot.

just give up, and use your PC + snes emulator + roms:wink:

i would actually second that. Super bomberman 2 looks a LOT better on the xbox than on the SNES, and i don't even need a Multi tap.

Well I have a modded xbox with like everything already. I just started collecting everything though for the hell of it. I tried cleaning the hell out of the cart slot already and no dice. I'm going to grab a game from this store by me and see if it works. If anyhing I'll just get another snes after if it doesnt work.

Could be the actual catridge itself that isn't working if anything try putting them in as straight as you can. With my SF2 for Snes if you move the game while its connect in the slot it gets messed up and does a black screen. Mainly because I used the Game Genie a lot on the game and it caused it to get loose. Good luck with getting it to work out for ya.

I just found out from my friend that when he found the snes in his basement mario was in it. I'm guessing that protected it from getting damaged like the other games. I'm going to pick up a new game later and I'll see how it works out.

is his basement damp? there might be moisture damage to the carts i think.

Nah it was just dusty.

Well anyway I picked up 3 new games and none of them worked. I'm pretty much definitely sure it's the xonsole that's messed up. I got a new one coming from ebay so I should know for sure by then.

Are you sure there's not a problem with the snes controller for the games that start but won't let you select anything?

I'm 99.6% certain that this is the console, despite SMW working fine. You've cleaned the cart slot... have you opened up the system and perhaps given it a dusting w/ compressed air? (Note that I've never done this before, but it is what I'd do in your situation)

Well it was the console. I got the new one in the mail today and everything worked fine.

I will try a can of air on it though. Maybe I can get it working.

Blow in the games that don't work ;)

No. Don't blow in the games. That will make it worst.

But like I said, it was the console not the games. The games work fine in the new snes. Besides, I cleaned the hell out of the carts. I am going to pick up a can of air though. I don't want this other snes to go to waist if it's fixable.

No. Don't blow in the games. That will make it worst.

That's why there was a ";)" at the end of the sentence.

I had 3 perfectly working SNES with like 30games, I had asked people around me if they wanted them but they all started laughing so I threw threw everything in trash can

Why the hell would anyone bother with a SNES anyway?

Man my friend did that shit too about a year ago. I told he was nuts lol. People are getting pretty good money for that shit on ebay right now. Prices seem to be going up a bit also.
