Buy a converter. I got one for a penny at my local Gamestop like 2 years ago. Still works.

that's reasonable. Of course, i know my saying this will have next to no persuasive value to your dad, but I gotta justify SRK trading outlet. I've bought about ten things off this forum and the only problem I ever had was one quality issue, and it wasn't like the guy was trying to sell the stuff to me new, he just didn't describe the exact condition they were in. On the other hand, I've been scammed 4 times on ebay after buying about 50 things.
