why bother attending school if all you want to do is hack network protocol to get on aim?

Maybe he has a big break between his classes? Last semester I had a 1 hour gap between my classes and it would be cool if i can log in aim or kaillera or whatever during my break to kill some time.

then he should get a cell that has chat clients on it.

or again: "school's not supposed to be fun."

Try Meebo for AIM. I saw it in Popular Science. Just google it.

ask your administrator if you can access the networking security protocol so you can download torrents at school.

honestly, why would you want to download anything from school?
if it were from a dorm, i'd understand, but it doesn't sound like you're in college.

try aim express. Its a site based aim thing. You don't need the actual aim program to use it. Just an aim account and an internet connection. My college didnt try to block me out when I used that program.

If you're not in college, stop complaining.

If you are, complain to the faculty.

When I was in high school I could bypass restrictions by having online translators translate websites from english into english. Don't know if that still works.

I could also go to foreign versions of websites and use them instead. Download the hispanic version of AIM or whatever and see if it works, it did for me 3 years ago.

When I was in high school, the blocking software they used only worked for IE. Firefox owned my high school up for free.
