I was thinking about the casting of a lot of recent fanboy movies, movies based on comic/scifi/fantasy and as time passes a lot of actors are doing a lot more roles in these types.

Some examples:

Patrick Stewart=Picard in Star Trek, Xavier in Xmen trilogy, and the baqd guy in the new TMNT cg movie

Hugo weaving(probably the most"guilty"- Agent smith in matrix, elrond in LOTR, and V in "V for Vendetta"

Ian Mckellen-gandalf,magneto

Halle berry =Storm, catwoman,
Jessic alba= nancy in sin city, Sue in FF

So does that bother you, or does it not matter as long as the performance is good..?

Ian McKellen was also Dr. Teabing in the Da Vinci Code...

Money makes the world go round and round. There's a lot that goes into account when casting these movies and the actors taking the roles themselves.

But, it's mainly the money. And of course, attracting AAA actors to your comic book movie is usually a good way to generate buzz. Although, every movie will have that one wildcard(i.e. Hugh Jackman as Wolverine).
