This is a pretty overt act, within the next few decades we're definitely going to be escalating our economic warfare with China. China demonstrates that they can cripple our low earth orbit satelites (which pretty much is THE reason why our troops are as effective as they are at going against traditional armies), plus China keeps buying up American dollars and American debt as fast as they can. They are artificially devaluating their own Yuan so that their own people can't buy American products, only Chinese. We are more of an intellectual property producing economy compared to China's raw materials economy...yet China doesn't respect our (admittedly retarded) IP laws.

China is greatly increasing the demand for oil worldwide. We're definitely going to come to a point where only one of us can continue to live the status quo. I'm surprised more people aren't worried about China, probably all the attention is on the middle east?

Already our steel industries got crippled by Chinese dumping, eventually our economy will be so unbalanced where we don't actually produce anything but IP and they will just learn all we know anyways and we'll be SOL.

The United States has huge tactical oil supplies specifically for such a situation. Its possible, but I'd be suprised if China had comparable supplies having just been edging superpower status in the past couple years.

I know what you're talking about and they are not "huge" they are in case of national emergency and can last at the current rate of consumption for maybe a few months, which is insignificant if China places itself correctly with the major oil sources and future ones. We would end up with Saudi oil primarily and they could have access to Russia, Venezuela, Nigeria and all of South America if they play their cards right.

Think about it. All China has to do is offer an equal, or slightly better offer than the US does, and the countries that deal with us but hate us for exploiting them will turn Red just to try something new.

And our shitty foreign policiy re: Africa will return to bite us in the ass. Instead of seeing the entire African continent as unsalvageable and throwing a few dollars here and there and washing our hands of it, China is working hand in hand with the stable African countries, investing in infrastructure. Eventually they will reap what they've sown and will see financial and material benefits of working together and improving stable African governments instead of preaching from above and throwing out the occasional handout (US strategy).

It's already been proven by several radio talk show hosts and some TV talk show hosts that if the US continues down its current path that the great US of A will become the next Russia after the collapse of the Soviet Union. What needs to be done is issue more import tarifs on chinese goods and such.

Now What we need is a ronald regan "stars wars" project! But i would not worry so much about military equipment cause there mainly buying old soviet surplus weapons, and theres a reason that the soviets are selling them.
