Everyone remembers Capcom's little samurai game "Onimusha"?

Well for the 3rd game, they came out with a commemorative item called the Soul Controller. (pics below)

Its a wireless katana controller (yes.) A rare item as it, I couldnt find a better place than this to ask modifying it and make it more unique. I didnt know people made their joysticks and the likes, so I was inspired to do this.

The controller is basically the katana hand grip, with everything upward of the hand guard, being plastic detachables. (So you would not destroy your room and grandma's left eye swinging it around.)

Now that I've come into possession of two, I'd like to mod the broken one. I'd like to make a plastic (or any hard material) attachment to go on top of the sword's plastic blade. This attachment would make the sword look more like one of the fantastic swords found in the game.

Measurements wouldnt be that hard, seeing as the sword shieth already fits on top of the blade. It's the decision of material. I've never done something like this before. The way the swords look in the game look thick and chunky, I can include pics if you like. They are very otherwordly looking.

Im good at art, sculpting, etc so that should help. But any advice on this on-going would be a big help. And Im a regular member here, so I'll keep you all updated and won't run away never to be heard from again ;)

If this would be better posted in another discussion, please let me know.
