Stick Wire Damage Question

Well lets just say don't leave your stick laying around the ground when you have a dog in the house. So pretty much my dog chewed his way through one of my neogeo sticks wire I had in my game room. I was just wondering would it be possible to resolder the wires from the wire so it would work again? I was thinking resoldering the wire then covering it with some electrical tape and also some heat shrink.

edit: I'm talking about the actual stick wire plug that connects on to the console.
