Yes I'm talking about the game with Jean claude as guile.

So I turned on Mame for the first time in like a year and was just browsing thru my collection when I stumbled across this. I remember Koop serving me in this a long time ago, and so I started playing it, just to see how bad it was. to my amazement...I had fun?!?!

It is sort of like how Street fighter the movie has become a classic in the same vein as Mortal Kombat annihalation - the sheer "WTF?" nature of the game makes it great. Add in the brokenness of some of the movees/ characters and you have something actually fun.

Honda has an unblockable foot stomp that goes full screen and does fireball level dmg. And yes he can combo it before and afterwards for really nice reset options.

Sagat can keep two tiger shots on the screen at ALL times, and his tiger genocide super tracks 0_0 - I'll knee one way, then uppercut the other way if they tried to jump over it.

Laughter ensues whenever I do ryu vs ken and I here ken yell "Hurricane" and Ryu utter "tatsi-maki-poo" - comedic gold right there.

Zangief actually is kinda of nice defensively - the angles on hios attacks do great fro priority, though I had trouble ticking into his throws which IMO didn't do enough damage.

Sawada 0_0 its like they took Fei Long, gave him a Star Wars light saber and turned him into a combo god.

Speaking of which the combo system (well for juggles) looks oh so broken. Doing a slide/sweep with Sagat into a tiger uppercut is just too good. Honda headbut into a fierce into another headbutt into hundred hand slap is sheer pwnage.

anyone else remember this?

Man, I've never actually got to play this game yet. I've seen vids and pics but thats it so far. I might have to get Mame just to play this.

I don' remember what console it came out for back then - I just know sonic the Hedgehog was still on display at Best Buy when it came out >_< - think the Million Man March was popping also aroudn then - so maybe it was the Saturn? and the Playstation? Either way it was when we had bad load time, which woiuld kill the sheer fun of this title - just watchign the character intros induces a snicker.

Why the hell was the home versions of this game, for saturn & PSOne, so different?!

The arcade may not have been that great, but the home original version was WORSE. No improvements there. Should have just ported the arcade one.

The home versions had Super Turbo's basic gameplay (Only alot worse) with the Arcades movie game's graphics. It also a had the same amount of animation as Super turbo for all the moves so it looked and played as shoddy as hell. I remember having alot more fun with the broken as hell arcade version. Sagat's eyepatch, Cammy's whip WTF!!!

I doubt it had the arcade's graphics, the home version also looked VERY different in that area too. I had the saturn version back in the day and comparing it to visuals on videos i saw of the arcade, it looked quite a bit different.

Also some shitty programming must've went into the saturn version. Because i remember that one having a lot of slowdown & Long loadtime issues, despite the rather Light animation compared to titles like Alpha 2.

Hmmm am i the only one who hopes to see a SF:Movie Arcade rerelease, in a capcom collection one day?

The games, all of them, were just shitty, and the arcade version was the king of bullshit. The characters had so many ridiculous but effective moves (only when the cpu used them) that you never knew what the hell was coming your way in a fight. Chun-li's hyaku retsu kyaku into tensho kyaku into 4-6 hit aerial spinning bird kick...fuck that game up the ass. HATE that game. Home version was better...not for the gameplay or engine, but only cuz it had this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4trNlQpgiek).
