'Eh, what versions are these things in?
RB2 was SNK's answer to the Alpha series not SF3 anyway. If anything, it would've been more appropriate in Garou.

i am quite adept at photoshop, however these are from the home versions of the games. You have to use the dip switches to activate the menus. You can also get the same results using the emulators.

I don't see where the "system direction" ripoff is in that Garou menu.
Anyways, this topic is bound to not end well.

Speaking of "secret menus", anybody know of other hidden menus/dip switch settings for other fighting games?

mugen online tanked when the guy i was working with decided he didnt want to lease or sell his engine and the rest of the community didnt want to help in any way. i just needed one question answered to be able to get the professionals i worked with in cali to help basically rewrite mugen so we could do something with it.but no one wanted to do anything, so it died. im sad but you can always get a copy of my game underground or come see it in its present state at final round.
i do know of some other menus and strange stuff with the dip settings but just for neo games.
The menu being somewhat of system direction by allowing you to change the input timing of the just defend by also allowing you to revert the super motions back to their original motions and not set to easy as is shown in the picture.
and as for the guy who said "he didnt see this topic ending well"... i dont really see why. im not gonna waste my time posting fake stuff. im just an old school cat whose found an incredible amount of bugs, anomalies, and kool menus hidden in the games i like. if you wanna see more, let me know. its just fun for me.

Why would he PS this? That makes no sense. Just because he found something that you didn't know doesn't mean it has to be photoshop. I know him and he wouldn't lie about this. And why would he lie, just to start a thread?!?!?  :wasted:

i have read posts of yours before and it seems like you are a true snk fan-however so am i, and im pretty sure that most old neo-fans all know that there is crazy amounts of unused data in most all neogeo carts mvs or aes.
did you really think that all those megs u paid for back in the day were actually used in the finished game? or maybe you didnt pay 300+ bucks for neocarts, but i did, and i will school you and whoever else who thinks that this is some bullshit photoshop job.(sorry bro).
there is so much hidden unused shit in these games that was all left in because snk was too slum and would rather get your lootcakes than remove unused sprites, stages, supers, endings, menus, etc.u do remember the more megs...the more money the game would cost right? this man is just trying to give you and everyone else a little cool neo-info and you make retard comments without doing
your homework. (examples) kof 96 hack-with supers that never made it into the final game, metal slug x-secret stages, vehicles, kof 98-with crazy ass bruce lee kyo,ss5 special-unused stages,rb2-2nd impact reference,garou-hidden menu with sys direction style options. theres many more, but im gettin sleepy now....zzz
if you want to see some stuff for yourself try fucking around with the dipswitches.
you would be surprised at some of the wacky shit in some of those old games.
BTW-were all snk fans here(well sum of us) so give credit where credit is due.-p

At the time, Real Bout 2 WAS SNK's anwer to Street Fighter 3. I heard about the 2nd Impact "logo" (It's not a logo, just text saying "2nd Impact..."Street Fighter" is nowhere to be found; it's a joke I'm guessing) back in 1998, so if it's a photoshop, it's an old photoshop.

i own an original mvs motw cart and all of my mvs pcb boards are equipped with unibios
this is the first time i see this thing..and i know that carts hide a lot of cut sprites and stuffs
but i also know that motw is a game out since 1999 and everything should have be known is known
but aside this
you really think that with PS, mugen hack hex various craps out there a thing like this can be considered real without any proof?
tell me how to make this work it is the right thing to do in order to someone agree you
plus the fact that motw is universally considered snk's answer to third strike..it can be a good inside joke to put any 3s feature in motw or viceversa
ps: wtf is
CANSEL????
power MATER?
ninjamatt
01-31-2007, 05:30 PM
I know "cansel" and "power mater".
dude, i couldn't of come up with that, thats classic broken neo english.
lol power mater
anyway the reason you couldnt figure it out is because its invloved.
the newer games and mvs carts can utilize the "neo chip" or debug chip but you had to of figured it out.
hold select on p1 and start on p2
this combined with a few of the dips turned on bring you that menu in garou.
proof? dont be foolish. the proof are the 2 pics i posted after performing the trick in final burn alpha. i originally was put on to a lot of these menus and secret stuff because my girlfriend at the time used to love playing the games but she would just kinda flip out on the stick. sometimes producing some crazy shizzle. so we would go back and figure out what she would do and boom. thus ive discovered tons of stuff including a standing animation for kyo in kof98 that has him jumpin around everywhere like he's bruce lee or something. i ripped it and made a mugen char out of it. but anyway, i'm not some kid ya know...im 30. and with that being said refer back to earwigs comment about doing your homework. i dont post fake info. in the case of mugen online...well, it was out of my hands. i couldnt do it alone.
as far as the 2nd impact logo in RB2;
this is just my opinion.
streetfighter3 and 2nd impact had been out for a while and snk was looking for a way to spice up their games...so i think thats when they started changin what they were doing. It would explain why RB2 feels so unfinished. then magically the next game just happens to be a rip of 3rdstrike. how many games do they do that with anyway.tons
I just thought it was funny that 3rd strike had the system direction and then motw just so happen to have a secret menu that was similar allowing changes to special move motions and parry input timing. just a little suspect is all i was pointing out.
I never thought the validity of what i was posting would be questioned. Its kinda making us get off topic.

For RB2 turn on dips 2-6, 2-7, and 2-8. Press select on player2's side and a menu should pop up called -TOOLMENU-. Pick the first option to see the screen from the first picture.

you didn't got my point..
ok now i'll post 2 pics of me in a pope robe and you have to assume that i'm benedictus XVI
ok stop this stupid sarcasm..
i said before that is normal, unless you give a proof to everyone, to ppl not trust you in these conditions
internet is a jungle and fakes until now are countless from street fighter 4 to kof geowave and shit like that..
i repeat myself, i KNOW that neo carts hide a lot of stuff but also out there is MUGEN and similar crap
how much it takes to you to download some files put them togeter and create a screen like those you showed before?
at least just speak like:
hey guys i found this ... try yourself doing bla bla
i think is a better method to ppl entrust you

wow, using the extra dips (with uni-bios), you can even display things like hit boxes! really interesting

thank you pneo
zinac, thats how i code my mugen characters flawlessly, by using the actual hit collisoins. seems like pneo is the only one with some initiative. thank you. rengoku, i dont have to prove jack shit to you or anyone. the o.g's know who i am anyhow.. and again thanks. you never know what youll find. try using the 6's in sam sho 4. and press A then D quickly while in play. its like that old rainbow edition streetfighter where you can change characters in mid play. makes for some interesting super finishes. anyway post back what you find. i may have missed stuff.

Are you talking MVS/AES or PS2?
Anyone care to explain the SI reference?
I find it amasing how you magically stumbled across both menus which have such specific conditions more than seven years after their release...

Can the secret menus for Garou be accessed on the MVS emulator for PSP?
ninjamatt
02-03-2007, 05:27 PM
i found this stuff years ago. most of it in 1998-2002
but i never really post much on here and its obvious why.
i didnt realize how much fake stuff ppl must've put you guys thru.
anyway, my apologies for the sarcasm. but can you blame me. right from the start; i get "its fake""photoshop" all the way to its funny how i figured this out all late... blah. i can see why you wouldnt believe it but its there. you do know that the presidents of those rival companies have been friends and discuss plenty with each other so...thats probably the reasoning for most of the streetfighter stuff. the other leftover anim is just laziness.
like heres one for kof98
this url is to the mugen char i administered the animation to.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EgTOdY72p0
go to practice, select kyo
turn on the top "1" dip in kof 98 hold select on p1 to move the extra character around. cycle thru the animations twice. when you get to the win poses fr the second time keep cycling until you find a group that seems to have kyo not moving at all. keep going until he begins move. what you'll find is a completely hidden standing animation for a "young kyo" or just one where he's jumpin and dancing around like bruce lee or somethin.
once again....if you guys have anything to offer. i'd love to hear it. as for the hate...leave that shiz at the door.
and as far as i know as long as you have the uni bios, you should be able to access these menus and everything via any emu that utilizes the debugs.
