i've had mild success with strider/IM/sent-ground. pretty good team. can play defensively (really hard to rush once strider creates distance) and orbs to tag-out infinite. i think kai used storm/strider/tron in casuals, but i don't remember. anything else?
I use Strider/Tron, it works except for the fact I may get hailstorm every now and then without Doom getting in her face
Well it's better to play non-Doom teams more of a 50/50 than anything else

I like to use this a lot, when I don't get serious. Pretty fun playing Cammy/Tron.

i've seen alot of people "TRY" to play stri\sent\capcom which is decent team by the way but I haven't seen anyone play it right yet. That shit is potentially deadly and if strider dies, you still have sent\capcom which is probably the best sent duo.
seriously, that shit could be top tier IMO. I play around with it but never really gave it much practice. You still have the same chip output with stri\sent as you do with stri\doom mid screen. It could work but its next next next level strider.
stri\sent\cyke would be decent too but i'd rather have sent\capcom over sent\cyke.
if you really wanted something fun to play, strider\iceman is pretty cheezy.

alot of people always ask that whenever I mention it. But yea, the chip output is relatively the same.

After final round, I may write up a thread and post up everything I know about the team and my future concepts to make it better. Maybe someone can take it a step further than I did in some ways.
if I beast with it @ final round, I may keep it but who knows.
i'll be the first person to say that max level strider could win EVO. BUT to play @ that consistency amongst s\d weaknesses and playing perfectly through out the tournament w\o anyone firguring you out is a quest. Anyone who is capable of that could easily win EVO with a much better team and less work. Not to mention that max level strider is 1 hit kill which no ONE has figured out yet.

The chip output is relatively the same. Its pretty close BUT there are some minor issues with it which is why people still run s\d. People usually op for an easier method with the same result.
I never said that stri\sent is better over s\d. I just mentioned that there chip output midscreen is pratically the same.

I had to delete it. There were things in it that would make strider weaker if someone looked deep enough into it. Its my own fault for writing it the way I did. Basically, I was hurting strider more than I was helping out. Not to mention, I wrote some things early on in the thread that I found out weren't true later on. It had some minor errors in it too.
I may write up another thread in a few months but if you have random questions, I wouldn't mind answering them as long as it doesn't go into WHAT I do as a s\d player.
basically if I try to explain the team, I also explain how to beat it.

No problem shoult. Atleast you managed to help a few strider players here (including me) before you realized the harm it could've caused. I'd be looking out for any future tips you post on strider because that thread improved my strider atleast 2 times lol.
O yea also non doom teams. I was playin at the arcades one day and I was quickly choosing the teams. I picked strider and sentinle really fast, and then when I started moving down towards doom I accidentally picked cable. I was like ooo shit, but then the team turned out ok because sentinel's ground assist was almost simular to doom's anti air assits, except you needed to do stuff faster with sentinel because the doom assist gives you more time to do other things while for sentinel his drones fly by preety fast.

in case you're wondering, i have a friend that plays strider/sent/capcom really well. in fact he probably invented that shit in the old days of southern hills golf land. i think theres a vid on youtube where he plays finesse at an ffa tourney with that team. he lost but whatever. fyi its team DEATHWISH. haha.

Strider/Sent/Capcom: Opponents become a little less afraid of getting rushed by strider, but now are more afraid of rushing strider themselves. Launch into commando air combo does as much if not more than a sentinel rocket punch combo.
Sent/Strider/IM: There are a lot of orders you can do this to make this team work as long as IM isn't first. Both strider and sent at point become magneto killers. And teleport throwing into IM assist followed by a bomb does about 70% damage to cable and magneto sized characters. You can follow that up with whatever you want. The DHC capablilities also rival that of Combofiend.
Sent/Strider/Tron: Gives strider extra edge in power and the assist punishing capabilities are deadly. Sent/Tron however I find weaker than Sent/Doom
Strider/Storm/Psylocke: This is the only combo you need to know to win with this team: lk lk psy, tigerxxRagnarok DHC to hailstorm. Run. The end
Sent/Strider/Tron is Team Tickle. BELIEVE IT!

strider/tron i believe has an abusable string where by the time you teleport, even if they block the beginning of the string, they have to switch directions because of the gap between the 2nd and 3rd ring.
it's something like c. short + tbonne-g, c. forward xx teleport up behind , (3rd tbonne ring hits), falling j. fierce, c. short, c. forward, c. fierce ^ etc air combo
very abuseable, although I don't see it too much. I also forget the exact sequence, but it's pretty close to the above.
I also second cammy/strider/tbonne. I use it as anti-storm/sent/capcom, not to mention the random stuff cammy/strider has (call strider-b assist, whiff cannon spike, then strider hits them from behind).
Strider/tbonne works because strider's super makes your opponent block. From there, your opponent has to be real good at blocking Strider's orb mixups, or they'll be eating tbonne-g into combo. Can be quite effective.

i like spiral/strider/capcom. you can call out spirals assist twice per orb setup which is 12 damage on swords alone + pets + orb chip damage. with this set up you dont even have to teleport to do the trap. Have spiral be your charger, dont let her die tho, youll want that assist for strider.
You could substitute capcom for sentinal but i havent tried that team yet.

Ya i really think that team can win. Spiral's assist is open to recall too quick. it breaks open lock-down strings for lows across the board so its GOT to be applicable with the god of lock.
snap-out or kill a character then:
bird+call spiral, bird, bird, bird+knives hit, bird+call spiral xx activation
You can qcfHK+Spiral just drumming the buttons from HK -> Assist, once you figure out how to do it clean (ie don't do snap instead), you can do it free in a lot of spots.
You can do weird SAFE orbs chips with spiral by doing the above string but adding an orb layer to it. In other words in between Bird/Spiral calls, you throw 1-2 orbs out. It gets you average orb/doom chip but from mid distance.
It lets Strider TURTLE which if you believe in mind games, that adds another element b/c normally he's got to get in to be dangerous. IMO its a tighter distanced lockdown than Spiral/Sent can do. Theres a lot less obvious holes.
Spiral/Strider (variaty): Strider, instant HP Grab (don't mash), then....
....launcher, air combo
or
....snap out

^^^ 4x bird i can only see being useful in that dead character/guard break situation. My Strider's on the up and up, but I'm a Spiral player though, so when I pick this team its a gimmick.
I just know that Bird+Spiral, immediate Bird comes out too quick. The hole is in the half-second or so that you can't recall Spiral yet-- so you would have to decide whether to go for that repeat Bird or Teleport or Close Bomb or Activation.
Not a smart move on Cable.
