Well, I was just thinking recently about how popular and how prevalent the BADASS archetype is in modern American culture. You guys know what I mean--the characters that can kick everyone's ass, who can shoot straighter than anyone else, who don't take "no" for an answer, who save the friggin' world, and look good doing it.

So, I'm wondering: if there was an actual Pantheon of Badasses in American culture, who would be on there? I'm thinking mostly about the literary and visual medium, of course.

You guys know what I'm talking about. Characters like:
