Sorry if that sounded overly mean I didn't mean it too.... I still think this vid is leaps above your first one. Also if you are gonna make a third one, I'd look into things like using fireballs for interupts in combos or something like that...

Not at all i really appreciate honest opinions. As it looks now seeing matchvids from ko-hatsu the game engine looks to have some changes and some new stuff will surely be avialble. However if i want another combovid i would rather participate in someone elses or make a short one(like a minute or 2). So if anyone is making a combovid when 1.0.2 comes out iŽll gladly contribute if i find stuff.

NEW PATCH OUT

-New character Adler, available after clearing the Arcade mode (btw, the guy has a zombie-like stance and a new bgm track)
-New Helheim Battle mode, where you fight the strongest CPU, Sugoroku also gets this difficulty
-SS Matching Web mode, a lobby for online game (dig the game manual for more details)
-Demonstration option added to Display Setting (turns Demo Loop on and off)
-Color Edit added to Options (saves the edit as Color EX)
-New "move" settings for dummy in Practce mode - "1 Hit Guard" and "Random Guard"
-Added Information display to Practice mode (shows detailed info on moves and so on)
-Added Pad Display to Practice mode (shows the current input)
-By pressing F2 during a replay, inputs will be shown
-Improved online code? (something about "battle signal" quality being improved)
-CPU was improved (more active now)

I don't know about Adler, I was looking forward to playing him but I'm not so sure now. :\ His fireballs aren't all that fast and they don't go very far, his 22 move looks like it has limited use even as anti-air. It seems the only good special he has is the flash kick which has the built-in followup. He seems to have quite a few normals though, namely when you hold the button down. His level 3 looks like Ouroboros, but....suckier. :\ Bleh. It's still too early to tell I suppose. I'd like to see everyone else's input on him.

How's the hitbox on his 22C? And can you write out a combo that uses 2 flashkicks (preferably one that can't be tech rolled)? :X Also, do you know or see any practical use for his level 3? I'm thinking it may have projectile invincibility but the ball of electricity moves pretty slow so he might be open to attacks if it's not in front of him. I just wish it hit more times as opposed to only once every cycle. Or even make it move faster. :\

EDIT: Nvm, the A version of his flash kick causes an untechable floor bounce when they initially hit the ground. His 22_ attacks combo from all his normals midscreen so that's pretty good. He feels like a hybrid of Akatsuki and Soldat, moreso with Soldat moves though.

you have to open up config and go to the very last tab

click config and then change the default settings to your ip/port used.

click OK and then your new friend code should display for you to hand out to all th edrug dealers

Has anyone managed to test the replay system yet? I'm on a different computer that doesn't have the game so I can't try it out yet. There were a lot of issues with the old one and I really hope they were addressed. Namely the inability to speed up the replay or exit to the title screen while the replay was active.

EDIT: Now works with Dr. Neptune but the lag was hellish >_< maybe is because we are from different countries? i played with other people without problem so its strange... i got a 1MB connection.

I don't know if I can really help you Turbo. But I started with Helheim Mode in my game. Of course, I had already beaten Arcade Mode with every character (except Adler...duh) when I put the patch on. Have you done that yet?

Adler has a few of great anti air moves and since he has the blitz bomb as a Special and EX move it really great pokes and combos finishers imo.

Adler does feel a bit unfinished. I can't get his 214A to combo off a string that's more than 1 hit. And the first hit of 214A doesn't hit crouching opponents even when you're right next to them. :confused:

Well, the combo system does feel a bit KoF-ish to me, namely how the opponents get juggled. But as far as looks go, this game is beautiful. Probably the most detailed sprites for a doujin fighter yet even if it doesn't have as many frames of animation as some others. But you really gotta like how they do the shadows and reflections.

I seriously can't play BBB because of how shitty the sprites look (yes, yes, pound that negative rep). As for Akatsuki, the only reason I do play it is because it looks pretty. Sure, a lot of characters are based around each other. Sure, the background couldn't be deader. But atleast I don't see a single god damn pixel.

Seriously, I don't care how much better the game play of BBB is. I cannot stand playing as a compilation of squares.

Haha dude we were talking about this not too long ago. I figured if they took away his 6C entirely then he'd easily drop a few spots in the tiers. I'm thinking even if they did take that way he'd still have easy hit-confirmable combos due to the fact that few characters can chain 2B>5B and he could still use 214B for corner juggling.

he has godly oki but almost no damage output lol, i can think of
ground crossups
really hit/throw on wakeup
ways to not die while mixing up
good lows highs and throws haha

half of his mixup game comes from his QCB move.

Well, Adler's 5C and 2C are both knockdowns. Same as his 4C. :X

I put up a gatling chart on the wiki for Akatsuki's page. I was thinking it may look a bit more organized rather than writing these overly long descriptions. Would it be a good idea to do the same for the other characters?

Well, Adler's 5C and 2C are both knockdowns. Same as his 4C. :X

I put up a gatling chart on the wiki for Akatsuki's page. I was thinking it may look a bit more organized rather than writing these overly long descriptions. Would it be a good idea to do the same for the other characters?
give me a combo for them that isnt a corner juggle off 22C i havent discovered yet

Unfortunately none of his other normals will combo into any of those. :\ But in the corner, you can do 5B,214A(1hit),236BC, 5C/4C/2[C]. But since the opponent floats for quite a while, there's more damage to be had there. I'm kinda surprised that his C and EX fireballs aren't knockdowns though.

You know, I was hoping that Sai would be better in the patch. But the devs don't seem to have tackled any of the problems he has but instead have weakened one of the things that makes him able to compete (I'm actually suprised that they left the crossup as is).

Sai STILL only has one useable move ouside of combos. Sai is STILL unsafe. If I wanted to play a character where I can only use normals to win I would play Fritz

yeah i genuinely don't like how hes balancing the game (down, not up)

theres very little bullshit in the game so it feels rather boring. hopefully the dev will balance upward in the future, but i like a lot of the game.

oh and color edit mode is sweet i made a black cop version of kanae :]

He also plans to make Matching Web easier to use (whatever that means).

I've trascripted Akatsuki's story mode dialogues and whatnot, but never got around translating it (mostly because i've posted it on a doujinshi site, and there wasn't enough interest for this game =/). Oh yeah, i've translated the game intro. Just don't know where to put it.

Also, Murakumo was an officer for a German army. And i spotted "Ahnenerbe" in Adler's selection screen description.

I've run out of ways to describe how much mental anguish I went through trying to contemplate exactly why she needed to be 'nerfed' in any way, shape, or form. She was easily the worst character in the game before, but it wasn't a COMPLETE loss. There's just NO REASON to make her worse. She needs a meterless combo really badly, this shit is just hurting me man, seriously.

I never got an email back from the creator either.

Um noo, Kanae has mix ups, and a very much worthwhile corner combo. She had a decent rushdown too, and pretty much everything she does ends with knockdown where she's right next to you again. She also has a cross up and a mean guessing game with 'tk' j.2C, plus anti air throw.

Wow, that is one great book. Phillip K Dick at his best. Amazing to think it may have been the inspiration for a fighting game! But then why not, I've seen a fighting game based on Les Miserables out there somewhere (although it was of nowhere near the quality of AB).

In the last pack of replays (14.07), in the second match between Adler and Soldat (in Akatsuki's stage), the former did a 43 hit combo using his lv3, that took away ~1/3-1/2 of Soldat's health. Did Soldat miss his opportunity to recover or this combo is actually possible in a real match?

-2A priority changed;
-changed unability to roll after the airthrow;
-recovery for A and B versions of [4]6 move +2F;
-no more invincibility after the 22 move's timer has ran out;

And that one Adler combo was sick. I had a feeling you'd be able to do some kind of loop while the projectile was out but I had no idea what it could be.

Plenty of things Kanae could do, but the developers are too scared to take the risks! If they're gonna throw out game revisions every now and then, at least, you know, try something daring like, allow Kanae to cancel from her medium attacks!

It seems like everyone but Akasuki and Marylin got the shaft, though the slight delay in Mycale's attacks seems for the better. Maybe it's a common knowledge already, but one of the replays demonstrates a bug (Adler v Soldat in Muro's stage, VS20070714154144).
At the end of the first round Soldat, being on the far right side of the stage, fires his EX projectile, Adler start backdashing like crazy and Soldat follows him. At one point both of them outrace the fireball so that it's left behind the screen. And what do you know? It actually disappears. ._.
I've reproduced that in Practice. Now i wonder:
-Are japanese players aware of this bug? Seeing how in most matches they start backdashing from every projectile, makes me think positive. Abusers.
-And do Akatsuki's/Murakumo's fireballs have the same problem?

edit: probably no, Akatsuki's are too fast...

edit2: also, Sai recieved only 1 change (if only the patch readme listed all of the changes that is), how can he be slower?

I'm having trouble with Adler's combos. Anyone have any yet?

Edit: I found that you can follow up your throw with a 22A, B or C. The super version doesn't do too much more damage but you can end a match with it.

B, 214C comes out with about 2K damage. AB214C gets about the same. That's all I could find for now. Adding a 22C adds about 200 damage. It's a nice little OTG; passing it up keeps them down a bit longer if you want to do some more on wakeup.

Anonym still have most her useless and useful stuff except super after knee, she can also now link an dd+C after 123 guns. b+A, b+B, b+C, f+C still works but the timing is different . Kanaes 3 supers combo timing is different. Adler has some fun otg stuff with his qcb+a. In the corner qcb+a qcb+c xx qcf+bc is it unblockable? Can someone try it since i dont know anyone who plays it and training mode dummy guard options suck.

A couple of new vids on Ko-Hatsu (http://www.ko-hatsu.com/), from 21.07 (under the Event menu). Only 2 vids (Aka v Soldat, Fritz v Soldat), no replay files so far.

Also, there is now a Words (http://www.eonet.ne.jp/~subtle/akatsukibk/words.html) page on game's site. So far it's a short storyline glossary (contains mild spoilers, but i bet people here have already seen all the endings). As there is no separate page for story thingies in Akawiki, i've put translations into the Akawiki Glossary (http://akatsuki.mizuumi.net/index.php/Glossary).

And i think you could combo Adler's OTG 22 into EX22. IIRC, in replays the guy did something like OTG 22A > 22B > 22BC (i may be wrong). .....Adler's flashy combos remind of GG...love that nazi creep.

Doing the 22C 22BC only gives about 100 more damage than 22BC alone. But a throw followed by 22C then 22BC gives a nice 3000 damage on Akatsuki.

I just tried chaining together all the 22s, but after 2 of them they seem to get up right as you're done. I don't know if you're at a frame disadvantage at this point, however... Now, I'm not sure if everyone gets up at different speeds or if the marginal differences will affect Adler's room for 22s. I'll test it more later and see what I come up with.

Edit: The difference seems negligible, using 22 twice seems to get the opponent up faster than usual.

It is worth noting that with his level 3 rotating around it'll combo with an OTG in the corner for relatively minor damage. If you're confident in your corner pressure and ability to churn out throws this may be worth it... But it seems that EX 22s help damage more.

cool thing, unlike 22A/B/C, 22BC will hit after the throw even if the enemy attempts recovering. Guaranteed 2800dmg on Aka/Soldat. and you can always followup 22B or 22C with 22A it seems.

You can't recover from soldats and adlers air throw, some other people have airthrows you can't recover from. Anyway blitztanks dash can now be comboed with dd+BC and ABC, the fall timing seems to have changed.

It may just be me, but his attacks seem slower than they originally were and some are less comboable like before, like his A.

Uhhh to whoever wrote the wiki: plz omit "(hence the nicknames of 'JEWPUNCHER, 'Blitzjew,' and related variations thereof given to the game by many of the players in the US community)" for the sake of our (small) community.

It's one thing to joke around w/in the community and on the forums but Wikipedia.org relates to many other topics outside of fighting games and this statement is likely to offend someone or possibly stir up (unwanted) controversy.

well thats fine and dandy w/ you but take some random schmuck outside of the FG community that has never played a video game in their life and has a total absence of a sense of humor that just so happened to stumble on to the wikipedia.org/blitzkampf page then decides that they want to throw a fit cus they find the term offensive (or worse, anti-semitic).

Keep in mind that wiki.org does not have a controlled population like most forums. Anyone can be at wiki.org for any reason as it is a popular research tool. I'm not Jewish or anything but I'd like to see the page get regularly updated w/o some whiney douche trying to shut the pg down cus the community openly calls it JEWPUNCHER.

.....btw , I laugh every time I read JEWPUNCHER....seriously :rofl::looney:

By the way, i dont know if this is old news but... i was on Youtube and i saw a nasty Murakumo bug with his Super 3, seems that you can connect it even if you fail... and... who knows, but maybe you can move and continue it with a combo?

about the story, dont recall where i found it but it was one or two sentences and i was searching for kanaes background/story.

the similarities between the book and the game are apparent though but we have to wait till someone translates this.

That happened to me when I was trying to use a shortcut. Run the exe in the actual Blitzkampf folder; it should work then.

This has to be the most fun I've had with a fighting game since... forever. I used to enjoy 3S like this when I was in HS. I just can't manage to stop playing.

I've been experimenting with a few of the characters but of all of them I find that I have a penchant for Sai. Does anyone else play with him?

I haven't seen many vids, if any at all, demonstrating his abilities used competently. I'm a visual learner more than I am receiving written word.

(Also, Fritz looks interesting but I'm having a hell of a time trying to combo ANYTHING with him. I find myself playing him as though I was fiddling with SamSho.)

It doesn't work like that. You have to add them to your list first. There is a post (somewhere in this thread) that's got a how-to on the matchmaking system. Visit #Blitzkampf on EFnet for more info.

SS blog has updated (http://subtle.blog.shinobi.jp/Entry/13/). It syas the new patch is under development and author plans to add several things, like:
-add short pre-defined messages to SSMW (like "thank you", "busy" etc.);
-some sort of matching code tweak/removal (it has something to do with connection not establishing for a long period of time);
-add an option to disable BGM in the title screen (or maybe disable it entirely?);
-further balance the characters;

Among other things he also plans to release the OST somewhere in September.

I can understand the difficulty in finding a character. At first I thought that I wanted someone who could dish out heavy damage like Wei or someone with agility like Marilyn. In the end, I opted for someone with a similar style to other characters that I enjoy; aesthetic style in the form of Sai. You just can't beat a guy in a well tailored suit.

Just what is it that you don't like about the characters in the game? Admittedly, some characters (namely Akatsuki, to me) seem sort of stock and boring. Others (namely Marilyn) seem like direct descendants (i.e clones) from other titles.

In fact, here's a general question for the group:

Who is the character of choice and what influenced it?

I wanted to play Anonym and Marilyn when I first got the game. They didn't fit my style, hell hardly any of them did until something finally clicked with Akasuki and Sai. Aka became a good solid anchor, Sai's my tactical/headfuckery character and Adler completed the team as my fun character.

I just want to tell here that in my country (Chile) is coming the first Akatsuki Blitzkampf tourney in Ryuuko Masters Tournament (a local tourney, with 3s, KOF XI and SSBM) so im very sure that all those fights are coming to Youtube in a couple of weeks!
