I just downloaded the latest update, cut and pasted it into the install folder but the game still shows as version 1.0. Anyone know what is up with this? It is a simple copy and paste to update right?

If you find out how to do online play I'll have to give you a few battles.

Anyone know any good combos for Sai? My friend is using him, I tried to find a few combos for him but couldnt come up with that much.

I got something like qcf+c, jf+a,b, st.a,b into qcb ex which seems to be a corner only. And another corner only - st.a,b,b+c, qcf+a,qcf+a, qcb ex. Midscreen I could only find something like a tap tap into ex etc, so nothing to great.

If anyone can share anything on him it'd be appreciated. My fights against my friend are a little lopsided at the moment because he wants to stick with Sai, I dont really know what to tell him about that character since Im new to this game to and my friend is fairly new to fighting games. So we need help basically!!

eh... Sai is one of the best characters in the game. HIs combos are pretty limited sure but he more than makes up for that.

My friend has got quite a bit better with Sai, having some trouble playing against him now. I have another friend who plays to, he uses Mycale. She is a bitch to deal with! I usually have to parry quite a lot which helps to build a lot of meter, I find waiting for the right oppurtunity to land a f+c (with Akatsuki) to launch works quite well against her, I use that almost as much as trying to combo to launch. Also her cr.c, it might be that, she pokes her stick out low and forward, it anti airs and it just doesnt seem like it should! And her dog special beats out everything from what I can make out on her wakeup, another thing that just doesnt seem right about her.. Anyone got any tips, Akatsuki vs Mycale?

Have also been messing around with Soldat and Marilyn, fun characters.

I should have something along the lines of directx 9.X or whatever. The wierd thing is this is the first time this has happened on this computer. I've been playing it for a long time yet never gotten this before.

Hm... Well, I'm at a loss... It does say one of the requirements for the game is "directx 9.0c", so if you have lower than that you could try getting the newest.

Choose "run..." in the startmenu and write dxdiag, you should be able to check the directx version.

Anyway, I saw someone mention a lobby earlier in this thread? Did they add this? Was a while since I played Blitzkampf. I remember the netplay being lobby-less and just "write the other persons ip"-style.

Friendcode based lobby was added a long time ago (with 1.1.0 i think), but it's not popular anywhere outside Japan (and maybe other asian countries), afaik.

Great, form one problem to another. I think I got the directx problem over with but now it says I don't have the required .DLL file. It says two different one, D3D9.DLL for the .exe file and DINPUT8.DLL for the config file.

So wrong...

Great, now I just don't what the hell is wrong with it. Installed 9.0c and got rid of the .DLL probalem and haven't had the directx problem, but now it just won't start up. It'll pop up as if it's starting then just shut down, not fun since I really want to practice my Murakumo.

Sure, but why not have it running on two?! I had a bit of a problem recently after reformatting with the game crashing randomly. It persisted throughout three installs and I got a bit worried. Then I installed it to the default path and its worked fine ever since. Long shot, but worth giving a try.

Me and my friend couldnt get the netplay hack to work at all. Since he's using a router there might be an issue with setting up.

I tried the netplay hack with one of my friends too and we couldn't get it to work either after following all directions. We both have the hack and we're using the latest version. So no clue really.

As of now there hasn't been any console port information regarding AA. Hopefully they decide to just release it as an upgrade patch for this game. :X But I guess that's wishful thinking.

well, i've been banned from mizuumi's irc
i couldn't get an answer to the question why

and bell seemed hesistent to ban me
but apparently 'i was annoying.'

but this was the first time i've actually felt bad or had my feelings hurt online.
nobody's ever called me a faggot before, and that was for asking why am i getting banned....

So i guess im done with abk then, considering i can't get any more netplay, none of my rl friends like the game and, well i can't get myself any offline action, or get down to evo etc...

I still don't understand exactly what i was banned for.
what i do know is a few people held a lot of spite against me for not showing up to irc for so many months after the netplay tourney didn't work out

These vids have been something of a holy grail/reference book for PC version players in the US. Regardless of the existence of an arcade version, these vids are still viable and still serve as a legitimate basis on how the characters of the game can/should be played. Because the videos present extensive usage of the entire cast and display a high level of play throughout, every ABK player should take a look through this set of matches at least once.

I finally tried this game a week ago and it quickly became my favorite fighter ever. Bumping this cause more people need to know about this amazing game. I don't think I've seen the UK event videos you're referring to, if you have a link it'd be much appreciated. Other matchvids are still all over the thread and they're easy enough to find. The only video links that are dead are the ones concerning the loketests for Ausf.Achse earlier this year.

Just to get some sort of discussion going for those who still visit this thread, lets see what type of EX character colors are you guys using. I find it hard to go crazy with the colors so my changes are pretty boring but here are my Fritz, Anonym, and Adler.
