The ice cream itself isn't fried. It's actually dipped into a thin layer of batter, and then the whole thing is quickly flash-fried in oil (so I guess it is kind of fried, technically). The ice cream, which begins rock-hard, is nearly entirely melted after that.

I am immediately skeptical that this would even come close to Peanut Butter Passion ice cream you can get at Kroger. PBP is the champ, and nothing's really going to threaten its title, imo. It's an impossibly delicious combo of Reese's peanut butter cups, vanilla and chocolate ice cream, and I think there's some bits of caramel in there.
