Now the fool won't believe that routers do not spped up your connection. SO please bear with me. When is it ever possible for a router to boost your connection speed. Not in theory, in actuallity. Please stifle the noise I have to endure.

True that a router will not boost your internet speed, if that's what is in question. And unless you're one of those lucky folks with 12+Mbps internet connection and just happen to be using a 10-BASE-T router from the mid-90's, in which case going to a newer router (100-BASE-T or GigE) would actually increase performance comparatively, then a router would not in any way inhibit your internet connection. For internal networking, going from 100-BASE-T to GigE would increase your transfer capabilities, assuming all connected devices are GigE....again, comparatively speaking.
With those things mind, the real question is: what exactly is the nature of the arguement fueling this thread?

The arguement in question is whether a wireless router can boost your internet connection speed. He has cable internet accesss, and a wireless network running in his house. Some how, somewhere, he read that wireless routers boost your connection speeds to above that of direct connection. Just to give you some back ground on the moron, he believes that MS Vista is great because it is brand new.

I read the subject and I thought you were having a problem with SimCity or something.
