PUNCH-OUT.

Other than Punch out and super punchout, iirc there arent any other games in the series.

Ive been outta touch vgames for like 2 yrs, but with wiis special control abilities and the zany characters, I t could rock.

Did the games not sell well or does Nintendo just underestimate the want for another installment like sega and Streets of rage?

Thoughts?

Punch Out would be awesome on the Wii.

Well, I know its not the same, but Little Mac was in the last version of Fight Night (I think it was Round 2) that was on Gamecube.

I think if it did come out for Wii, the controls would have to be something other than 1:1.

Get a copy of Victorious Boxers 2. That's Punch Out x10. It's that hard.

I'm surprised Nintendo hasn't thought of this already.

I bet they have, just haven't said anything about it. Of course they've thought about it.

i'd like to see Punch Out revived actually because.. well, it's a first person fighter that happens to be fun.

i hope a Wii version isn't too realistic though. that'd be hella demanding on the average joe's cardiovascular levels.

Wii Boxing??

Now that I think about it...I really loved that Mocap Boxing game by Konami. I would go to the local D and B just to play that game for a while and work up a huge sweat and look retarted in front of a bunch of people.

I actually think Wii Punch Out should NOT go easy on the motion controls. Let the scrubs play Wii Sports Boxing (I hate Wii Sports Boxing's controls).

Uniracers was the shit. Sadly I doubt we will ever see its greatness made into a sequel.

I suspect that if they are considering a Wii Punch Out but I expect Track and Field to get a Wii sequel as well.

Does anyone know how Super Punch Out turned out?

I want NES Mike Tyson's Punch-Out with Wii controls.

All this talk of motion controls reminded me of something. Does anyone remember the Sega Activator?

Sega Activator was probably the most expensive and most useless gadget Sega made for the Genesis (along with the 32X/Sega CD). That was back when Sega was just throwing any kind of idea together during a cookout and made it into a product.

There was two arcade releases too. 4 games in total.

I liked the Sega CD.

Road Avenger, Night Trap, Sonic CD, Final Fight CD, Willy Beamish, Sewer Shark, Ground Zero Texas.

I don't see how quantity of games beats out quality, but as much as I love Punch Out! SMB3 was an amazing game. SMW gets a lot of love too.

The Wii motion controls piss me off, I find them rather unresponsive/inaccurate most of the time. Either the gimmick takes off, or it'll become a flavor of the month and the system will tank horribly once everyone moves on. I think the 360 will wind up taking this generation once everything settles down.

Also, why not just play Hajime no Ippo on the GBA? It's pretty much punchout with more characters...

Don't forget Lunar, Lunar 2 (still far superior to PSX remake), Dark Wizard, Shining Force CD, Snatcher, Vay, and probably a few more I am forgetting. A great system generally won't have more than 10 really great games, and Sega CD got their 10 easily. It just didn't have as many total games, but why bother with crap games anyway?

I never played Streets of Rage CD, I think i heard it existed, was it any good? Should I go look for it?

Punchout is easily one of my top 10 Nintendo Franchises, but the greatest?

I can think of a bunch of other Big-N branded game serieses that I think are just as good or better.

To name a few: Smash Bros, Warioware, Mother, Advance Wars, Elite Beat Agents

...and that's not even mentioning Mario, Zelda, or Metroid.

...seriously.

And the arcade version of Punch Out, too (which originally introduced characters from Super Punch Out like Piston Hurricane).

Crazy the timing of this thread.

READY 2 RUMBLE RETURNS (http://www.gamesarefun.com/news.php?newsid=7520)

And this time legendary AKI (WWF Wresltemania, No Mercy, Def Jam Vendetta, etc.) are apparently involved.

Punch Out on Wii would be too good, maybe even a special Boxing Glove type of setup ala Duck Hunt's Pistol Grip?

I was mislead by the thread title. I thought it was implying the dual Nintendo Super Mario Bros./Zelda cereal :(
