I dunno if this is a legal question or not, so under risk of being locked....

Is it possible to rip off audio files from PSX games? I'm saying this because I have the original SFA 3 soundtrack, but is missing the tracks from the new characters in SFA 3 Upper (Guile, T.Hawk, etc.). So I'm guessing I could do some magic with my old PSX SFA 3, but I dunno if it's safe or not....

Any ideas/suggestions?

You can adapt the Red/White Stereo cables into a standard PC line-in using a Y-cable, any decent Electronics store should have one. You can then just record off the line-in.

I used this method to rip all the DDR EXtreme songs I liked.

I hope there's a sound test in that version...

The files are stored in XA format.

You CAN rip the tracks if you want, but be aware of a couple things:

1) They will be 37,800 Hz, as opposed to 44,100.

2) They might not be 'long enough' for 'OST' purposes (all 3:00 exactly).

Try to find some PSX emulation utilities out on the 'net for the files you'll need.
