View Full Version : actuator replacements for sanwas?

So in attempt to clean out one of my Sanwa's that I own (by removing the eclip then cleaning and lubing the stick itself) I ended up losing the actuator, for a little while at least. When I pulled the eclip off, the spring flung the actuator off, and I heard it bounce off the ground. Of course, I ended up finding the essential piece, but it was in my dog's mouth, chewed up to the point where it was flat.

So in an attempt to find any sort of spare actuator, I look around my other joysticks that are currenty out of order. Sawna JLW didn't fit. I took the actuator off my DC Agetec stick and while it does fit, the actuator itself is too big (it's always hitting a switch, ie no neutral spot).

Now I'm out of ideas. I could sand the DC actuator down, but it doesn't feel solid enough (made of cheap plastic, thin so if I were to sand it down it might make the plastic weaker). Any ideas?

Buy a new actuator? Sanwa sells them separately for ¥50 JPY though it's hardly worth placing an order for only such a small piece. I should actually still have one spare with more on the way soon...

I certainly have some spare actuators from various mod jobs I've done. I don't know if I have a spare JLF one, but I know there are some that will fit a JLF. I'll have to look around though because I did a whole clean up a month ago and all my random modding parts have been put God knows where. If I find some, I'll let you know so I can mail it to you.
