I know for a fact there is a gameworks on the strip. Weather there is going to be machines at evo.. I can only imagine that it's gonna be mostly console.

dead in here today.

so somehow i got roped into helping to plan a pride float for the bears here.
The thing that gets me is like why everyone things so inside the box when it comes to pride celebrations

First off I mean I'm the worst person for this because i don't even like pride. I think it only showcases the most typical stereotypes of gay people.

in true fashion all they came up with the same ideas "lets have a dj on the float and then have people dancing and bears waving in the front.":rolleyes:

I shoulda just let them do what they wanna do but i made a comment that sealed my fate. After the above suggestion was made I said: "that'll totall make us stand out cause nobody is gonna have a dj with a bunch of idiots dancing on it.":rolleyes:

So I had to then suggest something better. which I did. But now they are totally like well you suggested it so now you have to help make it so. I totally don't want to march for no other reason than i don't even really want to be there marching behind the guy dancing around with peacock feathers in his ass.

Get a bear drumline. Tribal rythms are easy to make up and repeat over and over again.

add to that where would they get actual bear drummers.

also it's hard enough keeping bears hydrated for the march allthe way from 57th street down to christopher that's over 70 blocks. in the heat..

and we are talking about bears. walking is not there forte.. the sound of their thighs chaffing will drive people crazy. the drums cant really cover that.

I suggested getting actual bears but that didn't go over well. Though i'm sure the bears would love it.

Baylor university's mascot is the bear and they have this bear in this small cage on campus. It was heavily sedated and didn't really do anything so it wasn't really inspiring at all.

That is one thing that I never understood about Pride. It is not exactly putting one's best foot forward. It sucks but every group of people who ever wanted a fair shake in this country had to undergo a bit of assimilation. When they marched, they were out to prove that they were no different than anyone else and that all of the false claims put against them and those like them were just figments of hateful minds. The includes Women, Black People, Hispanics, Asians and others.

Pride seems to declare, "We are everything you fear and we are happy to flaunt this" It seems to almost undercut what the everyday joe with a life partner is trying to accomplish. Yes, I know that Pride is more than just that but, you know what, BET actually shows the News in between the ass shaking and criminal glorification. People will always cling on to worst image presented and Pride just seems to provide easy ammo.

 @ Mr. Big

So with the combination of ST being replaced by HD Remix, and CvS2 skimming by the cut but Guilty Gear getting cut off, I'm not so convinced on how bad I wanna go to evo now. There's nothing I care about left!

I think the point of pride is that it takes it too far with the stereotypes. Would you really want to be part of a homosexual march that was conservative and non-flambuoyant? I sure as fuck wouldn't.

The Grey Area
03-10-2008, 06:34 PM
Oh, then never mind. I always thought that it was like a declaration of Homosexual's rights to equal treatment. I read about the incident that started it. It sounded much like what black people did after Emmit Till and Rosa Parks.

Everyone and everything is connected. You can't have inner peace without realizing this. But, i know noone gives a fuck about inner peace so lets drop our drawers, pierce our nipples and put on something pink, cause we're different. lol. Seriously though, it doesn't matter if you bring creativity to a bear float cause in General people won't care. They aren't going to go home and say "hey did you notice that one float, it really thought outside the box". They are going to go home and talk about how much E they dropped and how many dicks they grabbed. You know there is truth in what im saying :). Just go for the token bear float and spend the extra money in your budget that you saved and donate it to a AIDS charity, or a foundation for GLBT teen foundation. Or just use the extra money to buy booze. Whatever works.

EDIT: hey guys, i just noticed my little green squares turned to red. How and why? I didnt do anything wrong. How does this thing work? And why? lol. I was around these parts back in 2001-2003 then I left now Im back and dont know whats going on.

The whole point of pride is the freedom to express yourself and to be proud of yourself-- regardless of what society thinks. If men want to go out in "goofy" costumes and act "silly" go for it. I apologize for getting political here but I don't think gays should have to "apologize" to anyone for being gay or demonstrate how well they can "fit in". And the problem is not that straight society picks on "flaming gays" as the stereotype they can ridicule, the problem is that they are unwilling to see how diverse, multi-faceted and deep all gay men are. Ignorant folks are the ones that should be ashamed over their narrow and simplistic their view of gay culture. Anyway... [/high horse]

mind you.. i know the purpose of pride.

my point was that we don't have to always do the same thing all the time. albeit if they wanted to wear costumes or something that might actually be cool but 13 floats of the same thing in a row is just a little moot.

you guys arent going to convince me that i'm wrong for trying to inject a little creativity and purpose into 1 public medium that this club can use to show a little about itself.

So lets leave it at that. While were on it what's with everyone kinda coming at me in this thread lately. Are you guys mad at me?

Hey Az..I got pic of the new guy, but it's only of him kissing me...so yeah, I'll try to get a good one of him...I told you I'd provide pics... :)

Also, he turns out he's the enemy (stupid drama) of this creepy guy at the bowling alley that ALWAYs follows me and sexual innuendo's me...he's a nice guy, but creepy and trying to hard to get some. This new guy came to visit me at my league on Monday (he doesn't bowl that night, but he bowls with me Fridays). Creepy guy was there, said hi to me at first and new guy was there and next to me all night...we were touching and hugging and stuff while I bowled, and the creepy guy kept looking over and he was bowling shitty. It was funny...he didn't even come over to say goodbye and stuff, and he ALWAYS make it an issue to do so.

Lesson here is: If creepy guys at bowling alleys try to hit on you for 5 months straight, just bang their biggest enemy and they will go away. :D (No, I didn't know he was his enemy or whatever before I banged him). This is guy is so nice too....we've been talking everyday. He's 6'3, atleast 250+, shaved head, white.

confessions of a broken heart.

First of all take care of yourself

heart problems can attack anyone it's fascinating really .. most people think you gotta be fat and unhealthy to have a heart attack. when really it can happen to anyone a few years ago a 28 year old figure skater died of a heart attack out of no where.

I'm sure you just wanted to vent. I got outed by an "allegedly" well meaning co worker. so i know how awkward that can be. if you do go back to work there and the guy says anything about it to you asking why you didn't tell him sooner you can say you didn't think it mattered since you werent intrested in him that way.

and then get ready for the always popular "well.. what's wrong with me? why arent you intrested in me?"

aahh i'm sure you know that already.

Not really. I am not physically attracted to guys. I have always felt more like a girl than a boy though. Mentally being with a guy feels like it would be awesome but I am yet to meet one that I ever felt attracted to. Not to mention that I have spent the last five nights dreaming about roxie. I do not think that I am as over that relationship as I liked to think that I was.

I would spend all my bill money on outfits and wear a different one each hour. I would walk around every spot in Atlanta just enjoying exsisting. Then I would hit a lesbian bar at dusk. Spend the rest of the time flirting and drinking. I would leave at 11:50 and hopefully get hit by a truck....

Come to think of it, I guess the best thing to do would be to commit a string of roberies. Banks, shops, you name it. Then the nex day, the culprit would no longer exsist. Then I would at least have the money to transition, be that my final decison.

that was kinda my answer.. only I would spend the first few hours of my day "acquiring money" stash the money someplace that i can get it when I change back.

I take some money to get a few outfits including some sort of freakum dress "something short and backless".

take an hour or 2 to figure out the whereabouts of Nick frost, kevin james, or suge knight.
and yes i did say suge knight. I know .. i know... but god damn he's fine. and he looks like he'd lay it down completely.

Assuming I find knick frost I go to his location seduce him and slay him all night.. even after i change back

same thing if i find kevin smith...

but if i can only get suge.. I gotta make sure i'm outta there before I have any hints of changing back cause if he finds out I'm a dude I'm completely dead.... ... unless... nah it's better to just be gone.

Staying at a gay hostel...not much gay about it, I have a huge balcony and nice view. I'm going to try to go to Chueca street tonight, which is the gay area in Madrid...expect pics.

Last time I wound up next to some girl who kept talking to her friend on the phone about how much she didn't want to sit next to me. When I started laughing, she said to her friend "Oh, hell no ... this motherfucker's laughing now. Like this is funny."

Sorry, I thought it was about me learning my lesson or something. :looney: Yeah...it was a lot of things that kind of let up to it, ultimately towards the end I might have been in it for the wrong reasons...which in restrospect i kinda was. I really didn't plan on breaking up ANY TIME soon...that's for sure. Especially not in a foreign country where I had no information on how to get a flight back, and where I'd never been before at that. I had to be in the airport 14 hours before my first flight left....then 2 hour flight, 2 hours at next airport, then a 9hr flight back...so I had PLENTY of time to think. First I was sad and knew I did the right thing. Then I kinda regretted and wondered why I did it, then I went back to remembering why I did it, and why it was the right thing to do, and how things were going to change, hopefully for the better. So it's all good now.

I'm back at work a week early, and everyone's like WTF? What happened, weren't you away? You were sending us pics! I'm like yeah...friend had a family emergency so we left. I don't plan on telling people right now, just too soon, and really no one's business right now. The only person that knows is HR and HR's friend, since he picked me up from the airport, and I spent the night at their place, and my best friend knows too....

EDIT:

Now that I have 4 more vacations day, now that I'm back at work early, I will definitely try to make it to Evo! GTC, how much were the rooms?

Yeah, I totally found myself thinking that I'd love to be the meat in that sandwich.

Can curiosity lead into homosexuality? Or do you just want dick from the beginning?

If that curiosity leads you to try things you otherwise normally wouldn't because of shame, perhaps. Lots of people don't even think about it until it's brought to them in some way (for example, guys thinking they don't have gay tendencies because they like women a lot but then they do it and things change). I figured it out at an early age, but I didn't really admit it to myself till like high school.

As for the "getting head from a guy ain't gay" thing, that's an excuse people made up because they found out dudes generally give MUCH better head than girls. =P

"When the bear is hungry, the bear eats."

I've got a question; do you believe gay people were born gay?

As in is it hidden inside them or does it just come out of the blue, for instance did you have gay feelings even when you were a little kid or did the orientation grow on you.

Actually its like in the comic books. Have you ever heard of the Inhumans? They first appeared in some early Fantastic Four issue. Basically, the Inhumans are a secret civilization and some folks in that society get super powers by being exposed to this material called the Terrigan Mists. There is a genetic screening process that ensures only suitable Inhumans get exposed to the Mists. Not everyone has the proper genetics to become super powered by the mists. Once your exposed to the mists, you go from a regular human being to a human being with special powers.

How does this relate to being gay? Well, gay people aren't exposed to special mists but we are gay and we have super powers.

Does that answer your question?

Wow, surprised to see a thread like this on a FG site. nice.

Myself? Bisexual, mostly prefer women though. And I have alot in common with Poison.

Sakura is my actual name, not just a net-nick.

So who are the regulars in this thread?

I've got a question; do you believe gay people were born gay?

As in is it hidden inside them or does it just come out of the blue, for instance did you have gay feelings even when you were a little kid or did the orientation grow on you.

Most homosexuals are born that way, but I also believe there are some instances where a normally straight person could find themselves in what would be a "Homo" lifestyle.

1) Patterns of abuse. If a straight boy grows up with alot of sexual abuse from men (ie father) it could mess up their views of healthy male/male relations. People like this usually are very self loathing though.

2) Sex is sex. Some people just get off on sex itself. They may not actually get off on the same sex, but that does not mean they cannot actually enjoy sex with the same sex. The Circle jerk is an example. Straight boys getting together and jerking each other off. Very homoerotic, but also not too uncommon among straight boys growing up. I know some guys who continued to fool around with men after being exposed to it (say in jail), even though they are not actually atracted to them. Having sexual relations with people you are not atracted to helps avoid emotional attachment.

But alot of research shows that the neuropatterns of Homosexuals are slightly different from those of straight people. The parts of the brain which relate to the kind of people we are attracted to and likely to grow romantic bonds with are different when you are attracted to men and women. Even more drastic is the difference between a Bio-Male and a Transgendered Male who identifies as female, most actually have brain patterns very close to that of Biological Women.

Just to point out. Gender Identity and Sexual Identity are not connected, and alot of Trannies are actually atracted to women.

Actually its like in the comic books. Have you ever heard of the Inhumans? They first appeared in some early Fantastic Four issue. Basically, the Inhumans are a secret civilization and some folks in that society get super powers by being exposed to this material called the Terrigan Mists. How does this relate to being gay? Well, gay people aren't exposed to special mists but we are gay and we have super powers.

Does that answer your question?

Thats why straight people fear us, they are afraid that some gay will come along and utter a single word and every straight person on the planet will explode!!!:amazed:

I've got a question; do you believe gay people were born gay?

As in is it hidden inside them or does it just come out of the blue, for instance did you have gay feelings even when you were a little kid or did the orientation grow on you.

I came out of my mom's box and i said "that's sooo gross i'm never going near anything like that again.

Wow, surprised to see a thread like this on a FG site. nice.

Myself? Bisexual, mostly prefer women though. And I have alot in common with Poison.

Sakura is my actual name, not just a net-nick.

So who are the regulars in this thread?

Creative story, just not worth it.
Try not to be a herb about it, you guys have enough hate as it is.

Yeah, ramberk, eat it.

Try not to be a herb about it, you guys have enough hate as it is.

We should probably have an FAQ section in the first post, that way we can just direct people with repeat or painfully common questions there.

If you want an honest answer, it's difficult to really narrow it down because different people have different experiences. I personally believe that it's moreso a matter of personal aesthetics, and less so genetic predisposition (which has more to do with gender identity than sexual preference IMO).

The homosexual classification is a recent development (about 1950's or so IIRC), and before then, homosexual acts were considered acts that anyone could or would engage in. For this reason, I don't buy the idea that people are born gay or straight, just with different ideas of beauty or desire similar to the way other random uncontrollable preferences are solidified. Sexuality isn't that black and white, and even the animals are proof of that.

The more you know. :china:

Well it's the truth, gay people do have super powers. We just rarely talk about them.

In all seriousness, what you ask is a complex question and everyone has different answers. We really should have a FAQ page or a FAQ section that we could just direct people to. I gave a joke response because frankly, that question has been asked to death. It's also hard to tell on the internet when someone is being genuine in their curiosity or are just being a dick.

You arent necessarilly gay (or even bi) if you have sex with Trannies. Def not if you only go for post ops. MtoF see themselves as women and live their lives as women. If you are atracted to the same things in them as you would be in a Bio woman, then you are still straight. It really depends on how much gender is physical to you and how much is mental or emotional.

Going out tomorrow with a bowling partner from one of my leagues...he was with his partner for 33 years, and he just got dumped for someone over half his age....we're both alone so we figured we'd just hang out, now that we both aint got shit on weekends.

Hey Grey, thanks.

I know what you mean about the bedroom. Before I came to terms with my Gender ID, it was kinda odd. I am mostly a top in bed, but aproach sex differently than guys do. Living as a guy and in normal hetro relationships I get bored very fast. Honestly, I usually find I am most compatable with other Trannies, and my current GF is a Pre-Op like myself. Honestly, best relationship I have ever had. Never felt so in tune with someone Intellectually, Emotionally, and Sexually.

In other news, people still never know I'm gay or even worse, believe me that I'm gay. The former was evidenced by a much older drunk woman incessantly hitting on me, then when I gave her a hug when they were leaving she kissed my neck. Like kissed my neck, sensually as possible for something not open-mouthed. Ack! LOL.

The latter, I was smoking a blunt with my friend Natalie in my living room. Since the couch sits under my rainbow flag, she's like, "What's the rainbow flag mean?" and I was like "..." "What do you think the rainbow flag means?" and got up to go pee and give her a second to think about it. I come back out to the living room, and she's like I dunno what the rainbow means... and I was like "gay."

She was like "Gay? You're not gay."

 "Uhh... yeah, actually."

"You mean like same gender or happy gay?"

and I lol'd and was like no, gay gay. Then the subject changed and it didn't get brought up again, but I'm pretty sure she still doesn't believe me. Hahah. Oh well, what can ya do. She hangs out with homophobic guys anyway (and probably is herself), it might be better that she doesn't know.

Currently, the only times I get annoyed with straight people are when...

- too many straight girls invade my gay clubs and bars. ("Bitch, you have your own bars and clubs-- go to them. Your fat ass is making our limited space overcrowded")

I hate it too. This is Gay, that is Gay, if you dont like what someone did they are a Faggot.

The big problem is when our youth are raised to associate negative things with these words, it makes them see homosexuality itself as a negative thing. Had a huge debate on it on another forum, and even some of the Gay members did not get that.

Sadly, we can't just start calling things straight to make people realize.

People just repeat what they hear unfortunately, without much thought of what they are actually saying.

Words like that tend to lose their meaning and history when used out of context, IMO. I don't like it all that much that it's so commonplace to hear words like faggot thrown around like it was all good, but at the same time I'm guilty of it myself and in my usage it's 99% intentionally harmless, so I guess I learned to get over hearing it outside of a context that is intentionally harmful or insulting.

Hey Mech, since you consider using "gay" to describe something as lame, offensive, even though we know they usually don't mean it in a homosexual context, how do you feel about using "nigga" all the time to talk about people? We both do it, and we know we're not trying to be offensive to anybody, it's just something we say, and everyone knows it's not meant in harm or to hate on blacks or any other race. Is this a double standard, or am I missing something?

I feel the same about both words, but you seem to think one is offensive while the other one isn't, I think if we're following your critical thinking, then both of them should be offensive or both of them should be ok.

Just asking. :lovin:

Since people are bringing up the "F" word and the "N" word and so forth, I'll bring up the "D" word. One of the things that really upset me was when my roommate used the "D" word ("dyke") to describe some neighbors of ours. My whole problem is that my roommate is gay and where we live, he's really neighborly. He knows a lot of our neighbors, he's head of the neighborhood watch, he's a community organizer and leader and I'm pretty sure most people know that he's gay. So when he starts throwing the word dyke this and dyke that in a casual but also insulting manner (example: She's kinda dyky) its really upsetting because he's a gay man and in my eyes, if you put a lesbian down, in a way, your also putting yourself down. You put down either group, you are putting down the community.

But anyhow. My whole thing is that if people keep throwing out slurs it makes it easier to get put down.

The funny thing though is that most white people are deadly afraid of the "N" word. It doesn't matter if they are overtly racists or not, they are afraid of it. But hardly anyone is afraid of saying "***" or "dyke" or whatever. What does that say?

Though it is logical to assume that one oppressed group would stand in solidarity with another oppressed group, that is just not the case. There is still tons of racism and sexism in the gay "community". But maybe my view is skewed based on my own experiences here in the midwest.

The reason that *** and dyke is seen as ok is like I said to Sakura. Your community won't shame you if you do. If you use the "N-Word", they probably will. Also, if you call someone a "N" on the street, you might get your ass beat. If you call someone a *** or dyke, you'll probably get a pat on the back from your friends.

WTF is up with that, anyway? On both sides of the fence... every single guy that hits on my lesbo friend first responds with oh you don't have to pretend you're a lesbian, then if it ever gets through to them, they insist on having the skillz to turn her straight. :looney: Do people think it's cute or funny or something? They all say it like they're the first person to ever think to say that to a gay person. That's the worst part.

Mechanica: This stems from the patriarchal society in which we live. Womyn in general cannot be thought of a full person unless some man is fucking her. And this is especially true of lesbians because that is a huge challenge to the status quo.

If your walking with your friend and someone says this to her, a good reply is that you'll make em gay. But you might want to reserve that for people that you feel you could take in a fight. Or at least outrun.

Sakura: There has yet to be a cultural shift in thinking with regards to the use of "gay" and faggot". While you'd be hard pressed to turn on the nightly news and hear a politcian use such language without be shamed out of office, this is not the case within most of society at large. As it is perfectly acceptable to use gay in place of stupid in most quarters. XboxLive is a perfect example.

The reason is that people don't use the "N-Word" is because almost 100% of society has said that it is not allowed, except of course within the white supremacist sub-culture. If you do use it, you will be shamed by your community, and hell you might lose your job.

No it's not. I've heard just as many racial slurs as I have gay ones. X-Box live is only representative of the typical 'outrageous' behavior that is more prone to come out when in such an anonymous and impersonal environment. Much like chat rooms and message boards.

So after a minor hot tub incident i ditched my wing.. but my contract with tmobile isn't over till another year and a half and i don't feel like paying 400 bucks to cancel my plan so i got a sidekick again. there are plusses to sidekicks that i forgot about so i'm not upset about the choice at all.

also .. the N word is stupid. But I don't think that people that arent black should use it. Say what you want.. but I understand taking a word and using it to the point that the power is taken out of it. To show the aburdity of it's uses.

As gay's we've done that with Faggot, Mary, Queen, and more.

But just like if i went around calling mexican people beaners "you fucking beaner" "lazy ass beaner" or Wetbacks or spics i know people would get offended. Especially since sentiment accross the globe is already anti black I find it pretty disgusting language. I've used the word especially when i'm describing "greasy ass lowlife people"

As for the word Gay to describe something undesireable and lame? I mean .. that sucks but to a truly straight person.. wouldn't anything gay be undesireable and lame? But i aggree that it's stupid especially because it shows me that you don't have the calibur of vocabulary to use stronger put downs. There are funnier and more powerful ways to shut down a situation.

Consider this:
"this game is gay"

versus this:
"this game is more boring than the sex i had with your mom last night"

I thought spics were only Puerto Ricans? And lazy ass beaner is redundant.

I kid I kid, I am Mexican, but find none of these slurs offensive...Also if someone says I'm gay or a faggot in a demeaning manner, and they know I am, I just say, "Yeah...what's your point?" I think that whole sticks and stones things holds true for me...there's not much someone can say to put me down, if they're going by race/sexual preference, etc. Those gay nigga beaner honkey talking crackas can't do shit to offend my wetback faggot ass....bitches.

I live by LA and work near Compton....there's all types of races and such living together......maybe So Cal is the exception?

PS This conversation is going no where quickly. =\

Lol, my sister lives in Lynwood. In the 80s she lived in Compton. (Yeah, I know, they're right next to each other. I'm familiar with the 710, Redondo Beach, the flea market, the Rosecrans exit, etc.)

What I was getting more at was talking about incarceration rates and college graduation rates of people of color in comparison to white folks.

ramberk: Just because someone is gay dosn't mean they have dealt with any underling racism or sexism on their part. Just because they haven't dealt with it doesn't mean I'm gonna let anyone slide by with stupid comments like that. We're all sexual minorities. In my eyes saying someone is "acting dyky" is almost the same as saying someone is "acting like a faggot." And yes, I recognize the racism and internalized homophobia that exists in our own community. Right now the best way I know how to deal with it is by yelling at my roommate for saying something stupid.

The reason that *** and dyke is seen as ok is like I said to Sakura. Your community won't shame you if you do. If you use the "N-Word", they probably will. That was exactly my point. Most communities recognize the power and history behind the "N" word but they don't recognize that in the slurs used against us. If we keep using those slurs flippantly, it'll continue that way. That's why I was upset with my stupid roommate. In someone way he transformed himself into one of those pitchfork and torch wielding idiots that attack our community. It's like, do you have any clue what your doing?

*shrug* It's not that I find the words gay and faggot offensive per se. I don't think you can survive as a gay man if that actually offends you. I just think it's dumb, but honestly I'll say gay as much as I say nigga. I find the word nigga satirically hilarious when I'm stoned, so that happens more then. I don't ever use the word faggot. I just don't like it. :xeye: I'll call someone I know a *** online, just because that seems like the norm for the internet and usually they've already called me a *** previously in the conversation. IRL, the closest thing I'll get is "nigga you crazy." or something.

Mechanica: This stems from the patriarchal society in which we live. Womyn in general cannot be thought of a full person unless some man is fucking her. And this is especially true of lesbians because that is a huge challenge to the status quo.

That's the sad thing - if I'm with her, we're dating. If only people hit on her like that when I was with her. I know for a fact that if it came to that I could win a fight with any of the dumbasses that have hit on her since I've known her. Nobody will fight me, though. :shake: There have been a few people in my life that pissed me off enough to fight them, but they all back down. *flex*

For some reason that just straight up reminded me: I was playing guilty gear casuals in B.C. this last weekend, after a tourney, and this dude interrupted his own sentence to go, "holy shit you have huge triceps! :wow:" and I thought it was the funniest compliment I've heard in a reaaaally long time. Random award. I mean, I was wearing a wifebeater and leaning back on my arms but just that he interrupted his own sentence out of excitement(?) was hilarious.

I thought spics were only Puerto Ricans?
I don't know if that's officially how it works, but the word spic is used universally for anyone of hispanic descent. I don't think people who really use the word spic care about the semantics.

You're right...just urbandictionary.com'd it.

1. spic

A highly offensive term referring to a Spanish-speaking person from Mexico, Central or South America, Spain, or Portugal

2. spic

racial slur for people of Latino descent

3. spic

A highly offensive term referring in a derogatory manner to a Hispanic person, i.e. born or descendant of natives of Spain and/or any Spanish-speaking country or territory in Central America, South America or the Caribbean.

You spics are worthless -- why can't you learn English like everyone else?

4. spic

An offensive word used to describe hispanic people. Comes from a shortening of the word "hispanic".

Those dumb spics are trying to take our jobs

5. spic

A derogatory comment towards people of hispanic decent.

How come Hispanic people are allowed to say 'nigga', but if somebody says the word 'spic', they get stabbed?

Well his "friend" that lives with him is the partner of 30 years. If you've read my posts before they were just friends blah blah blah, that slept in the same bed and stuff. I thought this was normal as I know "friends" taht aren't really couples but live together and such.

He's in HR, I know he wants to keep shit private, but we've been good friends for over a year now and I've been to his house atleast 50 times. His friend, or partner now, doesn't know we've been banging, but then he told me his partner and him haven't had sex in 10 months, but he finds condoms and stuff everywhere, that are clearly not being used on him.

Anyways, it's really more long and complicated than this, but there's just so much f-ing drama going on work and otherwise that I just can't handle it. AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

HR and I are still friends, and yes, he said he was 42 and is really 50. In his defense he looks late 30s/early 40s, I would have never guessed. It's not the first time someone has lied to me about the age, but the partner thing was a big deal. I never wanted him for a relationship, which is fine, but fuck, atleast be honest with me.

When I asked him why everytime I asked about him and his "friend"'s status he would get defensive and change the conversation, he said he was afraid of losing me and didn't want to. He knew he lied at first and figured since I was 21 I would eventually move on to someone else and tell him to f- off. Which wasn't the case. Then he had no idea how to bring it up. He said he really did want to tell me, but didn't know how. He was really sincere in what he said, and I believed him. He's been honest to me about everything else, we've gone through a lot together, and both him and his partner have helped me out in so many ways, emotionally, car trouble, etc. It explains a lot of things. But I guess now I won't tell HR that his partner has a personal ad on the internet looking for anonymous sex. And HIS partner is also lying about his age on the ad............................................

What he said, about not telling you about his 30 year relationship, sounds reasonable and realistic. People get caught up in the moment. If you think its gonna be a one-night thing why be completely honest? When it becomes a regular thing and a friendship... it gets a little trickier. It sounds like he was afraid of losing you if he told you the truth up front. Although I'm wondering why you were insistent on figuring what kind of relationship they had (if you didn't care). Plus, you didn't think it was weird that "friends" were sleeping in the same bed?

I got my own "Gay Samurai" code of honor in order to avoid awkward or bad situations. One of my rules is that I don't cheat with a guy. But then I got my other rule, "See no evil, make no evil." I'm not gonna start questioning a guy about his relationship status if its just a one time thing (unless I suspect its a married straight guy). I've met plenty of guys who started acted suspicious (AKA "discreet") and I flat out asked them, "are you married?" If they answer "yes", then I call it quits before anything happens. If they lie and say "no", well, my conscious is clear and we can move things forward. I'm not gonna play detective or start asking a thousand questions if its a one-time thing.

Well, we've become BFFs since we first met. We go out atleast twice a week, him his partner and I, and him and I alone more than that. I know his friend and everything. Anyways, the only times I would bring something up was if he would make a comment that kinda hinted at it. I wasn't being nosey, I mean it's been a fucking year. And ok, here's the thing. I don't mind being with someone who is cheating on their partner, since it takes 2 and I know it's not me just enticing the other person, but I atleast want to KNOW I'm sleeping with someone that is currently in a relationship.

I know you and some other people on this thread have only started coming here recently, but I've posted our misadventures for months, from first becoming friends, to our first kiss on my 21st birthday, etc. GTC mainly would understand, since he actually takes the time to read my mile long posts. I don't try to post them for attention, but sometimes I just need to let stuff out, and typing it out, even if no one read it, is the best way. Also, I didn't mean my posts to sound like I was hurt or something, because I wasn't. I was really happy he was honest with me, and I understand how he felt, as I too have been in his shoes. Also, this isn't a "one time thing" We're just friends, and always will be, but we both understand that sex is just something two people can do without having to be married to each other. Sex is the last thing we do in our friendship, everything is so much greater than that. Before we even did anything like that, we had a chat about how we couldn't let emotions get in the way, and that neither of us wanted a relationship, as obviously we were both already in one. We truly are best friends, and there's not a lot of people I can see at work, after work, weekends, and talk to everyday and not get bored...like my roommate, who is also my co-worker AND sits right next to me.

Anyways...yeah.

After i was done with it though every place that was looking for a bartender would take one look at me and try to hire me to be a bouncer instead. after a few months of trying i actually did take a position bouncing for like 2 weeks then i quit cause i got tired of it and i didn't really need the money.

He always does/says gay shit around me, and it's cool, I go along with it. We've these inside jokes going and also some not so inside ones that involve him and I being lovers. He even dared me to grab his ass once, which I did, and he often puts things in my pocket...........REALLY deep in my pocket, near my dick to be exact. Today we were doing something and I just grabbed his dick. He just laughed and didn't say anything, and it was totally unexpected, for me too, since it totally came out of the blue. There's a lot more details, but some of the emails we send would make someone go  and he even says stuff out loud infront of others, and doesn't seem to care.

I swear everyone is a little gay if you give them a chance. :lovin:

I hadn't spoken with my BF since Spain....we had a long talk yesterday, and got some closure from both of us. I know what I did, and I know the consequences, and I'm not sure how our future is going to be, but we won't be talking for a while, and that's fine by me. I want him to stay in my life forever, I just can't be with him like I used to. It was a good 2 hour talk, and everything I guess is official.

Here's my roommate shirtless and eating a sausage.

Meanwhile I'm still at 2nd base with my ex boss.

*sigh*

Exboss is single and has kids so getting with him won't really enhannce my homewrecker status. .. not by much anyways. btw i totally met his kids one of which is such a lesbruin i'm like "honey put down those pom poms and get you some flannel, doc martins and a mullet".

Once again, happy b-day GTC! :D

What a great way to celebrate the 200th page of this thread. :D

New guy I've been seeing = total keeper. Not only is he hot and chubby, 6'3, but he has a great personality and and make me melt like no one else. <3 We were supposed to spend all of yesterday together, but he got ill, so I went over and took care of him last night and most of today. Still a little bit sick, but doing much better. He thanked me and I told him it was the least I could do.

Also, another issue...sorta. I've never felt comfortable with other people paying for me at dinner/lunch etc. all the time. I mean if he does it once, then I do it once, and like that it's cool. He's kinda ballin', and thinks nothing of paying for dinner, and when I've tried he just looks at me weird and asks, what are you doing? I have paid for frozen yogurt and stuff when we've gone out for dessert, and bought him dinner once when I was introducing him to the greatness that is el pollo loco nachos (which he is now addicted to :lovin:). But every other time he just thinks nothing of paying. I don't want to be rude if he's offering, but I also don't want to feel like a boy toy lol. He literally snatches the bill from my hand and won't let me pay. There's an episode of Queer As Folk that pretty much answers my question, but I want to get your guys' advice/ideas. =)

getting dinner bought for ya

So what?

I mean, for real, I share your exact sentiments, the thought/concept of always having things bought for me bothers me. I don't like my life to be handed to me. However, being the logical kid that I am, it doesn't bother me that Wayne pays for dinner/everything all the time because he has so much more money than me. It just makes sense because it's not even the tiniest dent for him to buy some dinner. I just thought of it from his side, imagine having money to easily burn on dinner all the time, and then the person you're taking out to dinner, who can't afford it in nearly the same way, wants to pay. I'd feel horrible! It's not like I'd be trying to smother them in sugar daddy love, it's just logic! I'd appreciate the gesture but it's like what's the point in the person with way less money buying dinner? It just makes sense to me that the person with significantly more money should buy dinner. You said he's ballin' and everything. If I were in a relationship with someone my age/my fiscal status, yeah, it'd be a toss up on who buys dinner... but when the difference is that large, I don't see the point.

On the other hand, I could get Wayne to buy me a lot of things, but I don't. For the same reason you feel weird that this dude's always buying dinner. Dinner is just dinner, though, and both parties enjoy themselves. I always thank Wayne for dinner, and he always thanks me for joining him. He's gonna spend money on food either way, he'd rather have someone to eat with, y'know?

~~

Now, you already found another guy!? Is it just California or are you just that good? You always have some new attractive dude you're fucking around with. :looney: I'd be mad jealous right now if I was just looking for fun. You and your cute latino DSL.

Thanks dude, that did help me out. :lovin: Yeah, he worked on movies (X-Men 3, Hellboy, The Village, not an actor though) and for the last 16 years has been pretty much living in other countries. He's now settled here as of new year's and now he's working for Disney at their main offices in Burbank California. Anyways, yeah, he has money to burn as you put it. He's on my Friday Night Bowling league, and that's where I met him. His friend on his team was actually hitting on me that same night, and he told me that he was all over me. And it wasn't until his friend pointed me out that he noticed me. We didn't talk that week, but we did do "the look" to each other. I didn't go bowling until two weeks later, and we both had to sell these stupid raffle tickets they make you sell at bowling, since they pick a random team to sell each week. We were walking around selling them and he walked by me and said hey, and I said, yeah, I hate selling tickets, he's like yeah, I do too, more than anything. Then I said "Doug, right?" and he looked surprised cause I remembered his name. He said yeah and then went to shake my hand, and held it a little too long...which was fine by me.

He later told me he wanted to email me, as he had my email from our bowling mailing list, but he said that he didn't want me to think he was a stalker. Anyways, we ended up talking later that night, on the phone till like 2am. Then we met up the next day for dinner and :lovin:. We've been talking since, and he comes to my leagues usually atleast once a week, since I bowl 3 leagues and he only bowls one. And everybody at every league knows him, cause I guess he's one of the best league bowlers in Cali. :looney: And everyone seems to know me cause I take pictures at all our events, I'm the youngest bowler on all of my (gay) leagues, and latino.....so yeah, that gets you noticed. He's the top player at my Friday Night League and he wins lots of tourneys and stuff. Anyways, he's been awesome so far....seems to have no drama in his life, like most gays seem to do in cali.......probably due that he hasn't really lived here in the last 16 years. Also, I kinda just wanted someone to play around with, as I was still with my BF, and I even told him about him. When I came back from Spain and we were broken up, I told him I just wanted to take it easy, and didn't want to get into anything serious. He understood, but the next time I saw him at the bowling alley he just want me over with his personality.......I wasn't looking for anything serious, but I guess it's always when you're NOT looking that you find something awesome.

Yeah, I always thought that as a cliche...but it's true. And it kinda makes it more sweet when it's like destiny. :lovin:
