CALIFORNIA BAN ON SAME-SEX MARRIAGE STRUCK DOWN
http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/05/15/same.sex.marriage/index.html
From Bill Mears
CNN Senior Producer
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- In a much-anticipated ruling issued Thursday, the California Supreme Court struck down the state's ban on same-sex marriage as unconstitutional.
California's Supreme Court ruled Thursday that the state's ban on same-sex marriage is unconstitutional.
Several gay and lesbian couples, along with the city of San Francisco and gay rights groups, sued to overturn state laws allowing only marriages between a man and a woman.
"There can be no doubt that extending the designation of marriage to same-sex couples, rather than denying it to all couples, is the equal protection remedy that is most consistent with our state's general legislative policy and preference," said the 120-page ruling.
It said that the state law's language "limiting the designation of marriage to a 'union between a man and a woman' is unconstitutional, and that the remaining statutory language must be understood as making the designation of marriage available to both opposite-sex and same-sex couples."
With the ruling, California becomes the second state to allow same-sex couples to legally wed. Massachusetts adopted the practice in 2004, and couples don't need to be state residents to wed there.
Vermont, New Jersey, New Hampshire and Connecticut permit civil unions, while California has a domestic-partner registration law. More than a dozen other states give gay couples some legal rights.
Seven other jurisdictions around the world have legalized same-sex marriage: Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, South Africa and the Canadian provinces of British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec.
San Francisco officials in 2004 allowed same-sex couples in the city to wed, prompting a flood of applicants crowding the city hall clerk's office. The first couple to wed then was 80-year-old Phyllis Lyon and 83-year-old Dorothy Martin, lovers for 50 years.
"We have a right just like anyone else to get married to the person we want to get married to," Lyon said at the time.
One issue before the justices was whether San Francisco's laws carried legal weight when the rest of the state banned same-sex marriages. Gay rights advocates argued the state was violating their civil rights by limiting marriage to opposite-sex couples. The state law in question is the Defense of Marriage Act, Proposition 22.
Oral arguments in the case in March lasted more than three hours, a sign of the political and legal issues at stake. Six cases were consolidated.
Groups saying they were promoting a pro-family agenda had vowed to fight a statewide law allowing same-sex marriage.
"The government should promote and encourage strong families," said Glen Lavy of the Alliance Defense Fund. "The voters realize that defining marriage as one man and one woman is important because the government should not, by design, deny a child both a mother and father."
An appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court is likely. The federal high court has never addressed the question of same-sex marriage.

Hah, the CFO of the company just sent me that article....he's gay and knows I am too.
It's gay pride this weekend at Long Beach, CA, so I told him we might actually have something to be proud of this pride.
Too bad I don't believe in marriage in general.
Here's my two cents.
Food > sex/games/money.
Word. I'll take good food over most anything. I was doing my books the other day, and I spend about 70% of my spending money (anything post bills) on food. But I don't mind. A good meal will make my day.

Anyway, back to being gay... Anyone have any especially "gay-tastic" summer plans? I'm going to be slaving away at whatever random job I can find during the summer. I would like to go to San Diego at the end of July for the big comic book convention. I would be totally geeked out during the day and then dirty bar hopping at night. But I don't know if I can afford it or make the time with whatever job I find. And I'm not sure if my boy could pull it off either. We'll see...

Okay, if a guy says that his gaymeter goes off around you, should you take it with a grain of salt and like not reexamine your sexuality, or can you simply shrug it off?

You don't mind being bisexual!?!?! You say that so casually. I'm glad its not a big inconvenience...
Join a local LGBT group or spend time talking with someone you trust about this. And I'm pretty sure its a bad idea to listen to what other people think your sexuality should be. I woulda been married to a girl by now if I did.

When I first found out I liked guys as well, my initial thought was along the lines of "Oh fuck, now I have to deal with being gay as well*, I guess I can deal with this. Not like I'm ever telling anyone or anything".
*bi/pansexuality didn't exist in my mind at this point, once you stepped over the gay threshold, there was no going back.
The fact that you "don't mind" is enough reason for self-examination in my opinion. LGBT groups are also a nice bit of help, but, the ones I went to seemed a bit over the top for me, to each their own.

I imagine they do what ever they want to do. Since this is a matter of preference in one case and physics in another.
Having a dick doesn't preclude you from sitting down to pee, however not having one does preclude you from standing while doing so.

Those two things don't always go hand in hand. I read pages of a topic on a gay message board asking how many people sat to pee and a startling majority said they did, haha. You make it sound like ALL gay men are attracted to you...Are you ATLEAST 250 lbs, with moobs, maybe hairy? If not, 90 percent of the guys in here won't want you...you might just have a look that many gay man find attractive...I don't know. And yeah, GTC, we need to go out and partyyyyyyy.
When the LA Bear float drove by, my friend was on it (alarmgui on bear411). I went up to him and asked for his number, since I had lost it. He bent down as he was on the float, and tried to kiss me to say hello, so I jumped up and gave him a kiss back. Then I heard, what I'm assuming were bears, behind me that were watching on the sidelines yelling yEAH!!!!!!!!!! and someone went up to me and slapped my ass...I was like wtf? I then got his number and said bye.
My friends that were watching told me that it looked like I was trying to get on the float...and that I was too skinny to be a bear lol..
I got a tan though, cause it was like 100+ degrees...which was nice.

I'm surprised because regardless of age, Street Fighter has not been "newbie friendly" in a long, long, long time. So when I see anyone, but especially young people, really get into SF, I think that's really cool. Old or young, few people have the patience to learn how to compete in SF if they didn't grow up with SF2. Remember, Street Fighter 2 came out in 1991 and has gotten progressively more complex as time has gone by. Street Fighter 4 might be a good stepping stone to grab a whole new generation of gamers. Third Strike, CvS2 and MvC2 are beyond fucking complex for the newbie gamer (hardcore or casual newbie).
I do agree that older gamers are becoming more and more casual. I fall in that category. The only thing left "hardcore" about me is 3S.

so i just cursed some bitch out at the att store.
I have a new blackberry curve from my company. But everytime i try to charge it the charge icon comes on then goes away. And this is with the travel charger and when charging from the computer.
So i speak to my company and they are like take it to the attstore and see if this is a known issue.
So i go in to the store and this black girl is like behind the desk and so i walk up and say
"can i get some help here"
"well What would you need help with"
i'm like "Well my blackberry won't charge I just got it on saturday from my company .. i belive they got it on thursday of last week"
she takes the phone from me and says "well lets see if that's true."
In my head i'm like WTF! but i let it slide.
She tests it and it doesn't work
she's like hmmm well this phone has no insurance I'm like i'm sure it doesn't because it was bought with about 30 other curves my company bought.
so this other guy comes out and he tests it and says.. this phone is definitely defective.
So i take my phone and i'm walking out and this black girl behind the counter is like ..
"I 'ownt know why he gettin all mad"
so I freeze
K grove activates in my head
I turn around and i say
"what the fuck did you just say?"
the whole store gets quiet and she won't even look my way.
I say
"that's what i thought bitch I knew your ass wouldn't try that bold shit twice
now i feel like i shoulda stayed there and really got in her ass... I hate that feeling.

Ugh...I feel you man, some customer service people are the worst. ATT is one of the top ten worst in the US as well.
By the way, I handle all the BBs at my work, and I have a BB curve myself from work. And yeah, that is a known issue, but it's no just a BB curve issue, it's happened on other models. The charging logo disappears really quick and it doesn't do shit.
I'm glad you put that bitch in her place. :woot:

Same for me, pretty much. I only normally straighten it to the point where it's just more manageable but still kinda wavy (partially because doing an actual straightening job is a complete fucking pain in the ass thanks to the length).

How do you guys feel about crossdressers? I always hear from gay dudes that they dislike them because they are extremely effeminate and they say stuff like "If I wanted a girl I'd be straight"
Personally I'm attracted to femininity in guys...I dunno, it's just a turn on. I think a dude who's able to pull it off is so fucking sexy, but it rarely ever translates well when girls do it...but I've seen some convincing ones.

I don't have an issue with crossdressing boys. I know a number of girls (and guys) for whom that's actually a fetish. Since I'm a tranny, I'm technically a crossdresser myself, so I guess if I did have issues with it, that'd be pretty hypocritical of me.

Well, I wouldn't lump transexuals in with transvestitism since it's quite deeper and much more profound than dressing up as the opposite gender for the night...
However, some of the gays I've talked to express disapproval not of transexuals, but of transvestites, seeing as how the latter isn't interested in living their life, nor has the psychological mindset of the other sex. I can see where they are coming from, though.

Yeah, drag queens. I can dig. I don't really disapprove of it, it's just a fetish. When I was in the closet, I had a girlfriend who got off to pictures of me dressed like a Catholic schoolgirl. Nothing really wrong with it, just like there's nothing wrong with any other harmless fetish.

my old car is still driveable but i figured i'll let my bf keep that one till he wants a new one

This weekend was meh...my aunt invited me to her graduation party...so I drove 2 hours there, and when I get there it turns out she wanted me to bartend that shit...WTF??? She even said I couldn't drink cause I would be too drunk to bartend...fuck that. Then her stupid daughter forgot to pick up my uncle, and she's all, IWST, go pick up your uncle...WTF?? Why doesn't she make her stupid daughter go back and get him? So I picked him up, 30 mins away, come back, leave him and tell him to tell them I left. The party was barely going to start when I got there, so I didn't do shit for her...she's known to do that...ugh. I drove 2 hours back home, luckily I got a call, and invited out so went to a bar, which was aight.

Woot! Well I'm back after a week of no internet (don't. say. a. word. Lobelia!) I finally got some good stuff done. I finally got the bumper for my car, switched my schedule at work starting on the 10th next month and my father is going to move out supposedly this week. Things aren't perfect but I'm heading in a good direction.
Yesterday Rob passed by my place while the folks were out... ahem, let's just say I'm exhausted still. Pizza + God of War + movies + snoo snoo = BEST. MEMORIAL. DAY. EVER.
Towards the end of the day it got real scary though... Rob had left his cellphone at his house since it got cut off. However, his sister, being nosey, looked through his text messages between me and Rob. Rob's friend Gerla, who happened to be there at the moment, passed the bad news to us. Now Rob's sister is throwing conclusions around, saying that if their father found out what was happening we would have to face his "wrath". Rob tells me I shouldn't worry since his father said he would be cool about him being gay if he found out and that I have nothing to do with this situation...
Can't help to be scared of someone who accidently/purposely started a giant fire to get rid of some ant hills. I don't want Rob's dad to cause any "accidents" to me. :shake:

Rob turned 28 this year and younger than his sister. The biggest problems I'm worried about, although I don't know his father all TOO well, is that his family is Christian (not sure about the crazy kind or the forgiving kind yet) and that his father had a prior "history". Rob never went into full detail so I let it go.

I haven't had any cosmetic surgery. I'm a male-to-female transsexual, so hormone treatment, cosmetic surgery, etc. are inevitable, but I haven't been able to afford it yet. I was going to start last month, but then I realized...I have to save the fuck up for Evo. After that, I'll be shelling out $175 a month for this shit.
People have told me that with the way I do my hair and the manner in which I dress, I already pass as a girl. I have pics; hit me up on AIM if you wanna see them.

Bingo.
A dude who dresses up like a girl is a drag queen. A transsexual is someone who feels dissatisfied with their physical sex, feeling that it doesn't match the gender of their inner person, their soul or whatever.

Don't confuse your self driven delusion, for my ignorance. There are healthy ways to be trans-gender, I think you are going about it the wrong way by not facing things how they are. You are very right. The soldier analogy is a bad one. We're all who we are. Let me try to give an example that you may understand...
You're rush down (since I don't know your real name, I'm going to use your handle). You know you're rush down. You've always been rush down. However, I say you're not rush down. I say you're rainbow bright. You don't look like rush down to me, you look like rainbow bright. See? This person here says you're rainbow bright too... so does that person... and that one. Look. See? In the mirror, you look like rainbow bright. But you're rush down, you say? No, you're wrong. You're rainbow bright. We all see that you're rainbow bright. Stop insisting that you're rush down. You need to realize that you're not really rush down, you're rainbow bright. Ok, you can wear rush down's clothes, but your still just rainbow bright. You're not fooling anyone. We can all see that you're rainbow bright. You're never going to convince anyone that you're not rainbow bright and you're actually rush down. Even if you did manage to get someone to see you as rush down, as soon as we tell them that we all know you're rainbow bright, they won't be able to see you as anything but rainbow bright.
See where I'm going with this?
I can already see that you just associate who we are as something deeply embedded in sexuality. That preconception is what practically everyone seems to get hung up on: "Oh, well, they just do this for sexual excitement." Gender =/= sex.
By the way. Please continue to tell us who we are, what we should be doing, and how we should feel. kthxbai

I could go on and try to explain this further, but the defensive barrier you have developed over the years regarding your sexuality would block any kind of reason.
EDIT: Blah here I go a little anyways....
I'm not telling you how to run your lives. I'm not telling you who you should fuck or who you should be attracted to. I'm just saying, if I acknowledge you as a man... don't get pissed. You have a penis... you are a MAN. You might be a man who wants to be a woman, who wants to fuck men, but you are still a man. And someone simply acknowledging this, isn't hateful. I'm not saying that because you are a man you should act like a man, I'm just saying you got a dick.
And because you have a dick, its ok to lose to you in fighting games. If you had a pussy, it wouldn't be ok. Not at all ok.
And yes, a man in a dress is nothing more than a man in a dress. Nothing magical about it. Instead of thinking of that person as a women trapt in a mans body and thats why its ok that hes wearing a dress, simply know that a man in a dress is ok. Ok?

My claim is, if someone was born a man, no matter happens, they were always once a man, and still retain many qualities of being a man.
Personally I believe a lot of trans-genders like to pretend they are now 100% (place new gender here). If a man puts on womans clothing, no matter how convincing she/he might be, its still a man in a womans clothing. If I acknowledge that its a man in womans clothing they have no right to be angry at me or call me ignorant.
You can break all the mirrors in your house, but don't touch mine.

tl;dr
Hokay, here I go correcting you.
1. You aren't speaking fact. You're speaking opinion. Your view on transsexuality places all emphasis on the physical, when the problem is much more mental than it is physical. I am not defined by my body. Neither are you, neither is The Green Trench Coat, or James Woods, or Hootie, or anyone else. If you honestly think that a person's body defines who they are one hundred percent, then I pity you, because you are as shallow as a human being can possibly be.
2. I'm sexually attracted to women exclusively.
3. It's never okay to lose to a girl in a fighting game? What kind of idiot are you? Are you saying that because a person has ovaries that they aren't ever going to be good at fighters? You're probably worthless at 3S.
4. A man in a dress is a man in a dress. A woman trapped in a man's body is a woman trapped in a man's body. There is a difference. I could put a dress on Dave Batista and he'd still be a man. The dress makes no difference, it's not about what someone wears, it's about who someone is, and a transgender person is, to me, a victim of a genetic fluke. I was supposed to be born female. I wasn't. I'm going to fix that no matter how much you and your kind bitch about it.
Welcome to my ignore list, you ignorant jackass.

Which begs the question: If you never knew that a girl used to look like a boy, does that still make them a boy? If the only way you knew that someone was transgendered was that they told you, would you still contend that they are still the opposite gender than what you perceived them to be?
Now what if they never told you and you never knew? Are they still the opposite gender than what you perceive them to be?

Too many feelings being bandied about around issues like this. :sigh: Such is life on the planet Earth. There are however cold hard facts to the whole thing.
First let's clarify exactly what the various "trans..." words even mean, because they are often not used correctly.
The shortened term "Tranny" is the biggest offender of being misused because it doesn't take into consideration the different definitions of transvestite, transgendered, and transsexual. And at any given usage you never know which the speaker is talking about.
A Transvestite is one who is physically one gender but dresses/acts as another. Most notably a man dressed as a woman. Or a drag queen. --Note here, that let's say a man dresses up as a woman for say Halloween or as a stunt, this does not make them a transvestite. A Transvestite does this with some level of seriousness, not "for fun."
A Transsexual is one who personally and mentally strongly identifies with a gender that they were not born with. And almost always seeks surgery to make that physical change. -- The difference here for example for someone who is pre-op is that a pre-op transsexual is NOT a transvestite even though they are seriously dressing up in the opposite genders' clothes and acting as such. Here it is the personal internal identification with the opposite gender that makes them transsexual. A transvestite does not personally identify with that opposite gender, but simply dresses and acts as such.
The term Transgender is more of a 'catch-all' if you will. It literally means one who transcends the normal gender boundaries and therefore encompasses both transvestite and transsexual.
Now, that said, there are specific definitions for "male" and "female" too. One can mentally identify with the opposite sex all they want, and insist on being referred to with pronouns appropriate to that sex (that is their right). That however does not change the fact that those two terms are definitions of PHYSICAL characteristics of a person, not mental ones. The terms for mental and non-physical mannerisms related to sex are "masculine and feminine" not "male and female."
Now, rush down, you said that (paraphrasing) one shouldn't or can't get mad because you referred to a m->f transsexual as a male. You're wrong on this. While said person is by definition a male, they have every right to be referred to as what every they want to be referred to as. It's like someone up-thread said you can tell me to call you "rush down," and you have every right to be upset if I call you "rainbow bright" (<<lol at that btw) instead. If someone seriously wants to be referred to as a cockroach, however odd you may think it, that's what you should refer to them as -- and if you don't then expect them to be mad about the fact that you didn't.

No. Not at all. It doesn't matter what you want to be a called. It has nothing to do with what I want to be called. And don't ever confuse things like "title" with "gender" or any quality. If someone wants me to call them something different (say they change their name from Bobby to Bob) it's worlds different than someone saying "refer to me as a girl".
Would you honestly walk into a woman's bathroom as a man and when all the ladies in there get pissed, would you be like "hateful ignorant bitches! Can't you see I'm a woman!?" Or when you go to the doctor, would you put female on the health form and then get mad at the doctor when he find a penis on you? No matter what you want it doesn't make it more or less a reality and doesn't change the quality.
So not only can't you ask to be "referred to as what every they want to be referred to as", but you don't have the right.
Now it would be easy for transexuals to have it that way though wouldn't it? They just ask to become something from the public and we are assholes or ignorant to not comply. But in the end, you are deluding yourselves. I know this argument is a hard one because it deals with peoples hopes/wishing and identity. Its almost like religion in the way that if I don't agree with your views on god/gender, I am insulting you. No matter how much you want something to be true, it doesn't make it any more true.
I think you get the point. I'll continue on if don't understand something I've said or have questions about my view on this.

Or when you go to the doctor, would you put female on the health form and then get mad at the doctor when he find a penis on you? No matter what you want it doesn't make it more or less a reality and doesn't change the quality.
We don't go into the women's bathroom as a man (and conversely FtMs don't go into the men's bathroom as a woman). Again, look at Harisu. If you didn't know that she was labeled as male at birth, would you think twice about her going in to the women's restroom? What if she walked in to the men's restroom while you were standing at the urinal? Believe it or not, the law here in Texas states that as far as public restrooms go, you use the one that you present yourself as. So that means if I present myself as male, I use the men's restroom. If I present as female, I use the women's restroom. This is a big part of why "passing" is important to the transgendered. We have to conform to society's ideas of binary gender in order to appease people's insecurities.
If someone completes transition and has their legal forms and birth certificate to show them as female, then yes, they put 'female' on the health form because they are legally female. You don't even know the process and you're basing your argument off of your own ignorance in the matter. The reality is that we know what we are, rainbow bright.
So not only can't you ask to be "referred to as what every they want to be referred to as", but you don't have the right.
Actually, if my driver's license or state ID says female and/or my birth certificate says female, I have every right to be referred to as female. If you insist on referring to someone as male when all legal documentation says that they're female, I'm pretty sure whoever you're doing it to has the option of legal recourse (depending on the severity of the situation, of course).
No matter how much you want something to be true, it doesn't make it any more true.
I could say the same to you. I see your views as ignorant (probably because you don't want to think that you may actually not know what the hell you're talking about) while you see ours as foolish fantasy (i'm guessing). Who's viewpoint is truth? You can have other people say that yours is truth, but I also have people that can say that I'm the one speaking the truth. What do we measure by? Who's truth is more true?
I think you get the point. I'll continue on if don't understand something I've said or have questions about my view on this.
I think I'm totally wasting my time trying to talk to you seeing has how you haven't responded to anything that I've said so far. I'm almost hoping that you're just really good at trolling. I'd like you to do me (and possibly yourself) a favor and try to use your imagination real quick:
I'm going to assume that you identify as a heterosexual male for this (if you're not, try to imagine that you are).
You meet a girl who's smart and funny and for whatever reason, you just really enjoy spending time with her. Maybe you guys date, maybe you don't. Maybe you have sex maybe not. But let's say after a couple of months or years, you two find yourselves just really comfortable around each other and for whatever reason, she decides that she should tell you that she was labeled as male when she was born. What would you do? I mean, this is a girl that you've really enjoyed spending your time with. Has everything changed now? Would you yell at her? Hit her? You've been betrayed, right? This girl has fooled you for so long. Wait, this isn't a girl, this is a guy in a dress, right? What do you do?
Just something to think about the next time you start to like someone. How much does it matter?
Either way, I'm done with this. It's almost like I'm beating my head against a wall. See you around, rainbow bright.

This is the same terribly embarrassing argument the religious use. "I have 6 million believers! It must be true!!"
No, a dick is a dick. No way around it. No matter how many people agree with something, that doesn't make it anymore real/true/correct.

I can't believe someone would actually be so selfish as to trick someone like that. Seriously, thats deception at it's worst and truely dispicable. You wouldn't sell fools gold to someone and then be like "'Its justified, he didn't know it wasn't really gold. My gain, his loss.". If someone did that to me I would break up with on the spot, mainly because they are a liar, and I can't share love with someone who is willing to lie to me about something so massive.
There are other things in your post I really don't agree with, but this is like walking into a church and saying their god is false. No matter what I say you won't get any of it because you don't want to hear it (hence the block from whats his face). I also have to catch a train now.

@rd - You seriously are saying someone doesn't have the right to simply request enough common respect to essentially consider them another gender, or at least not antagonize them by bringing up the point that they were physically born a male? I mean sure, it's your right to always consider them, in your opinion, a man. But to just blatantly disrespect how they truly feel at their deepest, inner core of their conscious? That's pretty lame
This is the same terribly embarrassing argument the religious use. "I have 6 million believers! It must be true!!"
Why are you referencing religion? You're comparing someone pressing their beliefs in a supernatural existence to someone asking that you don't call them a dude, basically?
No, a dick is a dick. No way around it. No matter how many people agree with something, that doesn't make it anymore real/true/correct.
He's not trying to deny that he is scientifically/physically born as a male, you're the one who doesn't get it... it's not about not wanting to hear it. I want to hear something that makes sense? Maybe I missed a part of this argument.

...assuming you're dating. Any decent person would reveal that upon saying there's a romantic connection. What about just friends? Would you just start calling 'em 'he' and 'man'?
EDIT: Oh, you're only talking about pre-op transgender? What about someone who's gone through the surgeries, and hormone treatments (testosterone is a part of the masculine traits males have, no?) and all that? All your references have been to the physical aspects, and your shotdowns have all been "you have a penis, you're a man"... Like literally everything you said was if a man puts on a dress he's not female. Transgenders are not just people dressing in the opposite gender's clothing... Your religious reference was far worse than the soldier reference, I can't tell if you're ignoring the fact that there are men, who feel like men that dress as women, and then there are transgenders.

A situation has come up and everyone is looking at me like I"m crazy for being upset for not being notified. Since you guys seem to take opposing veiwpoints on stuff i say i'll put it to you.
- Person A wants to come to new york for an event and cant afford it.
- Person B offers to fly and board Person A to new york for the event and to stay a long as they need
- Person A accepts the offer.
- Person A then makes plans to stay hangout with and party with persons C- Z
- Person A never calls / emails/ notifies in anyway that these are the new plans
- Day of Person b is like .. uhm.. wtf are you still comming? are you staying with us? do we need to get you from the airport?
- person A is like oh. Im coming to new york.. but made other plans.
Is person B fucked up for thinking .. there should have been a correspondance of somesort indicating that plans were made from person A?

Person B fucked up for not making it explicitly clear that the plan is to hang out. As written, the plan is for B to get A there and then... nothing. Person A obviously had a reason for wanting to go which did not include Person B, or else person B would not have had to offer to pay and tag along. Both A and B should have made their intentions/expectations clear from the jump.

No matter what I say you won't get any of it because you don't want to hear it
The inverse is true as well, apparently (you're not remotely intent on hearing anything they have to say either), so it's interesting that you'd say something like that.
And believe it or not you ARE knocking (to be more precise, trivializing) what they do, so they have every right to get offended and block you. You don't seem to agree, but in reality, it's really not that simple an issue (physical gender versus gender identity versus sexuality, all are very separate things) and there isn't a single simple answer to it for the person afflicted. I have trouble believing that, were you to be born as you are but in a female body, you'd have no problem being feminine and dating men because the physical gender is the only basis for these behaviors you've allowed yourself to have.
As far as the "fallacious argument" thing, you missed the point entirely. He wasn't claiming he had greater numbers on his side (apparently you didn't bother to read the rest of it), he was claiming that you have no more of a basis to call anything you've said so far "truth" than they do. There's no way to measure because you're arguing an opinion, and a grossly misinformed one at that.
Mechanica, I think he's just saying it is the same fallacious argument being used. Higher numbers of people saying something or being aligned with something in whatever way does not make it true. (from his "religious reference")
