I guess I'm confused. What part can't you believe? The hormone levels numerically show that. I mean to put a number on it for reference (DBZ style, but real numbers), pregnant women are typically in the 500-900 range, mine are close to 1050. This stimulates a lot of changes seen during puberty (softening of the skin, breast growth, etc.), but does so in a more extreme sense. A typical girl (not on her period) has estrogen levels at around 200.

It's pretty dangerous to have extreme hormone levels all the time, but so far, my body is being a champ about it all.

Like if someone is genuinely interested in the process and there is a shared comfort level, then it's not so rude. However, generally (from my experience anyway) people want to see "before" pictures for malicious reasons or to have some way to marginalize a trans person's progress. Much like "Hey, well, I guess they look ok now, but I've labeled them as 'man/woman' already and I've seen pictures to validate my reasoning for doing so." Basically it's harder to accept someone as female if you have seen them as male (and vice versa, FtM's have it so hard and my heart goes out to them) so it would be detrimental to my goals of being accepted if I let those kind of pictures out in a community.

You're pretty much thinking right. Trans-persons need compliments moreso than the average post-pregnancy girl. As long as we're getting positive responses, it keeps our ego up enough to go on each day. Well, I say "we," but I can't really speak for others. I'm very aware that the world will label and treat me as they perceive me and so I need to be validated pretty often to maintain my confidence. I'm needing it less and less as time goes on, but I do still want to hear it from someone else to be sure that I'm not fooling myself with the proverbial rose-tinted glasses.

I find it very insulting. When I hear it, i almost always ask people to stop. And if they don't I'll attack their intelligence. I'll start by asking "So how old are ya? 25... you don't say? Well that's odd, because from your language, it sounds like your in 7th grade." And if they still don't stop, I don't say anything more, but I lose all respect for them. And I'll only hang out with them in a public setting with other people.

If a community reclaims a word, (ie. ***, dyke, nigga, cunt), it's usually not ok for someone outside that community to use it. Unless your real close to that person, and with their permission.

But using gay to mean stupid isn't reclaiming shit. It's lazy people falling into a trap.

Oh man, you just opened the gates of hell. People ask me "what's my story" and I tell them to get comfortable. Shit's long, dramatic, and weird as hell, but here I go. I'll try to compress it as much as I can.

I was born in 1988. Bush the first was president then as I recall. My mother was a homemaker from a triple-digit-population town in North Carolina, and my father a hotelier from London. Present at my birth was a woman with whom my mother had been having an affair for most of my conception. This woman, whose name is Kathy, was the first person to feel me move in the womb.
Six months after my birth, my mother came out as a lesbian and divorced my father. She moved in with Kathy, who was a banker at the time, and the two of them raised both me and my older sister, Jessica.
Things got sour between the two of them, and they eventually agreed to split up. They remained cordial to one another, just as my mother and my father did, and my mother was single for a little while before courting a doctor named Pamela. It's curious to note that Pam was the doctor who delivered the birth of yours fucking truly. COINCIDENCE?!
...Actually, yeah, it probably was.
Any-dang-way, they lived together and all was well, up to a point. It was around this time that I started identifying more with the female gender than the male one. I was four years old and would steal my sister's dresses at night, put them on, and dance around humming "Part of Your World" from The Little Mermaid. The only person who knew about this was my sister herself. I don't think my mother ever found out, not even to this day.
Pam wasn't a huge fan of kids, so I wasn't a huge fan of her. I could tell that she cared about me, but she was also kind of mean to me and my sister. She also holds the dubious distinction of being the person who taught a six-year-old me the word "fuck," which would be a crucial element in my vocabulary in my adolescence and adulthood.
Eventually, when I was eight, my mother and Pam split up. My mother then hooked up with a former social worker. They're still together. It's been twelve years. They have two children of their own, and I'm happy as hell for them, but that wasn't always the case.
I suppressed my gender issues in my late childhood, determined to be a man at all costs lest people find out I wanted to be a girl and beat the dogshit out of me. That suppression turned to anger, sometimes even rage. I lashed out at everything and everyone, and was labeled a 'problem child,' albeit unofficially. The next several years would consist of a lot of heavy psychiatry, medication, and heavy arguments between my mother and myself.
I eventually left in 2003, at the age of fourteen, to give living with my father a try. That didn't last long. Within seven months, he'd sent me to boarding school. After that, I went right back to New Orleans, where I ended up living with my godmother. I turned eighteen and hopped from place to place, burning bridges left and right, until I ended up living with Kathy, who was no longer on speaking terms with my mother. I came out as transgendered when I was seventeen. Well, officially came out. I was very intent on doing what I needed to do, but other things got in the way until very recently, as in a few months ago. Right now, I'm looking for a job so I can pay my way through HRT and such.

phoenix is all good. CR = california regionals. Actually after going to regionals and hanging in california I realized that I actually am more accustomed to arizona, and possibly even like it better here than there. It's just easier...

I have a random observation about the gay dudes, that I know, who consider themselves "bears", specifically "muscle bears":

They work in IT (Computer Technician, Computer Science). Mostly with Network systems and such. Why is that? I can name a couple off the bat that's a "bear"-type and works with Computers. This includes GTC. Remind me to take up a CS course sometime.

Sue Ellen's is for the lez crowd and the Throckmorton Mining Company is bear and leather central. Round-Up Saloon is where the cowboys (and some cowgirls) hang out. The twinks just kind of hang around S4 or roam the streets looking to get picked up.

As I said before, I had gay roommates in college. We lived in an apartment and not the dorm (I was accepted far too late to get a dorm room). As they were older than I was, a meager 18 at the time to their 22-25, they would hold giant gay parties (parties for gay people, not parties that were gay) during which I would be hit on non stop by flagrantly flaming individuals. They were actually really nice people, but getting my ass grabbed multiple times during the night by inebriated homosesxuals isn't as pleasant as it sounds. Once they realized I wasn't gay and their advances were met with derision they actually increased in volume and intensity to, as they put it, "make me switch teams".

Flattered as I was I had to refuse as I prefer my rear to be exit-only.

One thing I did dig about hanging with the whole gay scene is that they had some really, really hot straight girls that chilled with them. Halloween was awesome. Hot straight girls at a costume party they assume will only be populated with gays? WAAAAAY better than parties they assume will be populated with straight guys who will try to take advantage of them. Way. Way better.
