Sadly somehow my ancestry does not allow me to grow a good beard. If I go more than a week without shaving I have a goatee and the rest of my face is very patchy, I do not know if I'll ever be able to grow a proper beard so most of the time I end up shaving it off.

I'm in some deep crap right now. My mother on friday texted me sayin that she's goin to move out in 3 months with her boyfriend. And since my older brother is moving out of state to study at Wyotech that leaves me basically homeless.

Well yesterday I called my friend to tell her about my situation but she had one of her own that very morning. To make a long story short she got into a physical fight with her mother over some petty reason (the mother's at fault however). So now my friend is proposing that we get an apartment together since we're in similar situations. She needs my decision by the end of the weekend.

Right now though I'm in the process of trying to get another car again (my brother has to take mine when he goes to Wyotech) with only $1k. Not only that but if I do decide to move I'll be further away from my boyfriend. Then there's the fact that I'll need to start from scratch to find a job that'll pay enough for the rent.

I'm just so confused now.

P.S. My friend lives in Sunrise, hence why I brought up the distance. I know my BF could live with the distance but I still won't be able to see him as much.

Are you working now? 1k to put down on a car isn't much, and then I assume you have to find a place to live, which involves putting down deposits for the apartment then utilities/etc.

Perhaps you can go to your boyfriends house and explain the situation (barring the gay of course, but who lives in MIAMI and has a problem with gays? It's like the gay capital of Florida) to his parents and see if they'll let you crash there until you can get on your feet; obviously they know you're close friends and with any luck they'll take pity and let you stay there. If they're opposed to the homo then I recommend not engaging in those practices until after you move out, or you could always bumrush them and go "SURPRISE WE'RE GAY ALSO I'M LIVING HERE LOL".

Honestly if you lived in West Virginny I'd let you use the spare room in my apartment; I'm renting a two-bedroom and only using one. Sadly that's not the case.

Keep us up to date on what happens, perhaps someone on here knows someone in the area that might let you move in or something, or has a car for sale cheap.

I am working but not making as much as I honestly should be ($800 a month). The deposit for the apartment is being covered by a guy who's dating my friend. He was also the first one to mention us moving into an apartment. Right now I have roughly $200 in my name so you all know how I'm feelin about moving.

According to my BF his father has already mentioned his stance on homosexuality. Something along the lines of "I wouldn't accept it if you were gay but I would still love you regardless". He's also a born again Christian who recovered from alcohol and drugs earlier in his life. He also works in a Christian rehab center so I would trust he would keep his composure. That and we go fishing with each other so we're cool people.

The one who WOULD have a big problem is my BF's mom. She was raised by a traditional family so she has her views of homosexuality as "devilry". She even mentioned kicking my BF out of the house if she eve found out he was gay. Then again her words are usually never meant to be taken completely serious.

At this point we both know his parents know about us being more than "friends". Afterall he was caught with gay porn a couple times. :rofl:

My parents have been divorced pretty much since my mom was pregnant with me. Anyways, my dad flew down there from San Antonio for his 10 year anniversary to his current wife (who the hell celebrates that?) and threw a party. I told my mom I would be down in our hometown, so she flew in from Cancun. I was only there 3 days, so I had to do do as much catching up I could. I stayed with my mom's side of the familly with my mom and sister. I went to my dad's thing, which was lame and I left early. If it wasn't for seeing my mom, that trip would have been a waste.

I'm making braised rabbit right now. Marinade in beer, garlic, parsely, s+p, and piri piri(portuguese hot sauce) leave over night. Right now I sauteed some onions and added the rabbit and braised it peice by peice. Then once its brown you add the marinade and water to the pot till its covered and let it lightly boil. After a couple hours, and once the water is almost boiled down you add rice and let the rice cook in the broth. Its awesome.

I grew up in a large family, and due to the fact that I was second oldest I got stuck helping out a lot with cooking/cleaning. When my older brother left for college my father was overseas for the military (y2k prep stuff) and my mother was pregnant (she got pregnant before he left, not after :v). After she had a scare a couple months in to the pregnancy she was ordered by her doctor to stay in bed and move as little as possible. During that time I was pretty much left as the man of the house and had to cook/clean/etc.

You learn a lot cooking and cleaning for 6 months straight for two other kids and a mom who isn't allowed to get out of bed for manual labor. Add to that the time after my little bro was born when my sister got huge in to gymnastics and went to some gym hours away every day and yeah, I spent most of my time after school cooking/cleaning and what have you. That's not to say I spent all of my time doing it, but enough that I can actually throw together a decent enough meal with base ingredients (meat, veggies, starch) that's cheap and healthy and tastes good to boot.

I guess you can call it a third parent. The upside is that afterwards you get siblings who love and trust you to be able to help with all their problems, you learn lots of functional skills for when you move out or start a family (diapers, shopping, cooking, cleaning, helping with homework).

The downside is it sucks at the time. Really bad. I had absolutely no social life.

I wish I could cook fancy food, but all I was ever taught was simple basic stuff. It's what I like best now, and I hate it when someone tries to cook for me and they're trying to get all fancy "Lets stuff this porkchop with feta and spinach" and I'm like "bitch I just want porkchops, a veggie, and a baked potato, not some fancy ass cheese on my shit. Montreal Steak seasoning and Worcestershire sauce on the pork, some butter on the veggie, and maybe some butter and cheese on the potato and I'm happy". Fancy food is great and all, but basic stuff is easier to cook and gets the job done just as well.

I wish to bring the glory of the crock pot to the world. I've cooked everything from barbeque and roasts to soup and a wonderful dish my mother taught me that uses a pork tenderloin, sliced red potatoes, and cream of mushroom.

Receiving is rather awesome, though it's been a bit for me. I'm not exactly going to compare it to other sensations, because it's completely different. Also, no, it doesn't destroy anything when it's done right. In my case, we worked up to it over the course of a couple days. Gloves were used, with lots of "aqueous creme" as lube. As for residual effects though, after about 6 months-ish I'm back to the point where more than two fingers hurts a bit.

That's not totally true for me. If I could find a penis with a person who legitimately cares about me as a person and not just a sex object, then I would totally give them a chance. In my experience, straight guys will be willing to fuck me, but they don't want to be seen with me. On the other hand, interested cisgender lesbians are willing to have a relationship until they find out I have a penis. Then, I'm a sexual predator/deviant/freak who somehow is now a threat to them in some way. The only people that have been cool with me are other transgendered persons and some gay guys.

In all honesty, as far as I'm concerned, it's all flesh and fluids when it comes to sexual relationships. As much casual rejection as I face every day, It's difficult for me to try anymore. That's not totally true for me. If I could find a penis with a person who legitimately cares about me as a person and not just a sex object, then I would totally give them a chance. In my experience, straight guys will be willing to fuck me, but they don't want to be seen with me. Half the time I check the news, somebody's just gotten beat to death for just being gay (maybe it's just the northwest). I would say having protection is a great idea. Last night I was just flipping channels and on CBC someone in Stanley Park (I used to love Stanley Park! Now I wouldn't feel comfortable) got beat to death by a bunch of guys with baseball bats. They even did a fucking "re-enactment." The re-enactment made me more angry than the hate crime itself. Seriously, was it necessary?? Can I not just imagine what it looks like when a bunch of people chase someone with a bat? The media is so fucking tasteless. I now also question canada's legal system since he served 4 years of a 6 year sentence (SIX YEARS? are you fucking kidding me?).

I think there should be no reason to be paranoid (it will only cause problems), but if you have something to protect you, need the situation arise, you'll be alright. Being paranoid will make you create situations where you need to use it. Paranoia is a waste of energy.

I've yet to meet a person who can tell that I'm gay (who isn't flaming themselves, at least), so I personally don't worry about it much... I also have a really scary anger problem, so I don't think carrying a weapon is a good idea for me. (/tuff)

That thread went pretty much how I expected it to. By no means am I'm trying to "blame the victim" here. But this is SRK, where the "no homo" meme has been taken to a new level. And the "we da best" meme which includes punching pregnant women in the stomach, or pushing them down stairs, was created. Also, there is that "rape" meme.

But this IS the internet. People will say crazy shit because they know it pushes people's buttons. SRK is one of the loosest moderated forums. Take the example of NeoGAF. There was a thread (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=351396) created at about the same time as the SRK thread, and it didn't devolve into what the SRK one did. While there was ignorant things said, nothing to the sick effect of what went on SRK. And that's because over there you'll get insta-banned for the smallest infraction against the policy. SRK has a policy of banning folks that say 'faggot' and such, but no one ever has been, to my knowledge.

But I totally understand on how all of this would make you question your safety. As it should, it does me. But don't let it make your paranoid. All the dangers that you feel are out there now, if substantiated, were there before. And you were fine.

Yes, people should get guns for self-defense. But PLEASE, PLEASE do not just go buy a gun. Take a gun safety course from a certified instructor. Try out many guns at a shooting range, find which one your comfortable with. And always remember, in a confrontation, once a weapon is in play, it never leaves play. Even if you put it away, it's always in play. If you pull a gun on someone, you better be ready to kill that person if need be. Because if you don't have that in you, they can easily take it from you, and use it against you.

Everyone should be able to carry a concealed weapon in all places, imho.

But if you not comfortable with taking a life. Carry a knife and some of the toughest triple action spray that you can buy. Usually it has OC Gas, CS Gas, and blanketing UV dye on it to mark people. MACE makes them.

My big brother hooked me up with a butterfly knife. I still need to check local stores for mace though. I've seen some online, but I really want to be able to see the products in person before I buy one.

As for the knife... right now, I'm concealing it in my arm warmers, but it's already starting to get warmer here and my clothing style doesn't really leave many areas to conceal it. I can try getting more colors and making arm warmers kind of my "thing," I guess, but I dunno if I can make it work. Even then, you can tell there's something in there.

I might actually be able to live with myself if I killed someone, but I would need a lot of therapy and a week or two of hospitalization with suicide watch. Carrying any sort of weapon around just sounds like a bad idea. One paranoid mistake and it's over. I grew up doing martial arts, so I'm speaking from that perspective. I recommend learning self defense first, and (if absolutely necessary) weapons last. I'm aware guns trump any other form of retaliation once it's in play, but possessing one is an extreme measure. There are healthier choices.

If there's a question in the back of your mind you'll accidentally kill someone with a weapon, then there's no point in using one.

You should see the things I get on myspace after swinger couples find me through GLBT channels. I've tried saying "sorry, I'm not what you're looking for -> I'm a virgin and I have a penis" right off the bat and I've tried letting them know after a few days. (I'm not interested in sex with them anyway, but sometimes they sound like interesting people so I want to know more) I haven't gotten an "oh, okay then, no thanks" yet, it's always them going off and on about how much of a sick freak I am, blah blah blah. I'm not going to deny this. I would much rather use pepper spray and/or run than use a knife. The knife is very much a last resort for me, but until I get mace on my key chain, it's my only resort and is resting in my palm during the time it takes me to get from my car to the security doors or vice versa. Again, running's always going to be my first option.

As far as martial arts go, I can say the same thing about hesitation. Knowing how to utilize a martial art and being comfortable enough to use it on the spot would be similar to the hesitation in using any other form of self defense. I'm pretty sure it would take a lot of time and dedication with a martial art to be comfortable enough to use it practically. Right now, I don't even feel like I have enough time to even try to get in a relationship with someone and it frustrates me already that I am having to put more effort in to ways of protecting myself and potentially harming others than I am in just loving other people.

Part of me wants to just ignore all of this self defense stuff and not worry about protecting myself at all. To just be as kind as I always try to be to others and hope for the best.

Another part of me is filled with anger and rage though. The part that says how dare you challenge me. The part that realizes that people won't understand or care about the pain they cause and the ugliness of themselves until they are subjected to it. I hate this part and I want to pretend that it's not there, but it may very well be the part that saves my life.

The hesitation will be there no matter what the situation because someone is forcing me to act on something that I've not really thought about before and is challenging how much I value myself.

At the end of the day who really cares. Perhaps try Judo or some other martial arts lessons that involves using an assailant's attacks against them? It's a much better option than trying to carry around a loaded gun.

So I picked up SFIV (360 and ps3 CE's) and having not played many games recently I'm a bit rusty. It was then that I was thinking about which tournaments I should hit up this year, and I realized I should probably avoid ones where certain members of this thread are in attendance.

Why you ask?

Because they're naturally better than me. Think about it:

1) Way better stickhandling than I have. Cheap shot, I know.

2) Immunity to my trash talk ("I'll fuck you up!" and "Suck my dick!" might be taken literally, and then what am I supposed to do?)

3) Superior trash talk and the ability to follow it up ("I'll fuck you up!" and "Suck my dick!" might be taken literally, and then what am I supposed to do?)

In conclusion, I think I'll just sit out games this year.

I was thinking about grabbing a ventrilo server (200 capacity) and setting it up for SRKers to do matchmaking for SFIV because I like to be able to chat to people, the speech interface in game doesn't seem that great to me, and I don't have a headset for my pstriple.

Would anyone be interested in this? It would allow for people like me who have both versions to do matchmaking for either at the same time, and give folks a place to chat in between matches, or at least make comments about how bad "haloomaster13313" is at throwing hadoukens.

You should check out Mumble/Murmur (http://mumble.sourceforge.net/). Free software that has lower latency and higher sound quality then anything else. Though finding commercial hosting is bit tougher, it can be done, and is usually cheaper.

A server capable of hosting 100 users would cost $0.10 per user per month, or $10 a month. I'll spring for that, as I assume that we could have a ton of people on there given the popularity of SFIV. I won't even have to activate Speex to get macs online with it either as it already uses it. If it sucks or people just aren't using it, oh well, I can always drop the service.

Lesbian? Her alt costume pack has her in both a wrinkled white gi and wrinkled pink gi (and schoolgirl PE outfit if you pick color 10). I think we know what that means, given that girls for some reason like to wear the shirts of their partners the morning after for some reason, and there are a few individuals in the game with pink and white gi's.

For sticks I'm actually building four right now, unfortunately they're all spoken for. When I finish these (in the next week or two, depending on when buttons/sticks arrive) I'll probably start on another set of 4-8, depending on how fast these four go. When I decide to do more I'll let this thread know first so yous guys can sees if you wants in.

We tried this in the prem section, and it was pretty popular for GGPO matches. I'm sure people would use/appreciate it.

It seriously is. We've seen so many new people enter the scene right now, we're going through a mini-revival in the GTA. i'm sure there's going to be a ton of casual play going down too, so even if you don't want to enter the tourney, it's gonna be fun.

So far, I'm playing Abel and Gief (is this a trend?), and both have been fairly easy to adjust to. Gief's command throws are ridiculous, and his 720s are way easy to buffer. Abel's got some awesome rush down. That forward into dash rules my face. But I may have to pick up Gen again. I used to main him in alpha. Looks like he's gonna just as much practice in this one.

But I'm still getting used to how slow the inputs are in this game. I rush things too much.

Anyone here have the xbox version, or is everyone ps3?

Geif is my go to bear when i'm getting destroyed with abel.
Abel is great i'm working on my timing and cancels though.
Fuerte is 3rd spot on my team i like that he plays like Maki from cvs2 but better.

You have to link the third jab instead of chaining it. Gief has the same thing with c.lk x3, s.lk xx EX Hand, he has to link the s.lk instead of chaining in order to cancel it in to a special.
