There's a new male enhancer review up on my site (written). www.iwst99.com
Also, my BF and I finished two video reviews of products which I will be posting up on both xtube and youtube tomorrow. There's nothing pornographic about it (although we're both sitting in a bathtub), but I figure I'd reach a broader audience that way. :D
Oh and a new Nacho review too, not that anyone here cares.

I may have asked this before, but what exactly is the Q doing in our acronym? How are you "queer" without being gay or lesbian or bi or anything? Is that like the "bi-curious" excuse? I don't quite understand. Oh I'm kinda gay but can't really accept it and want to still be a part of the heterosexual community... P'shaw, gtfo my acronym, thx
when a government body (CA supreme court - 7 out of 8 justices judged upheld prop 8) fails to act upon what's best for the people themselves
well didn't the people decide for themselves with their votes? Forgive me as I'm very VERY out of the loop with anything politics (I just don't bother) but if a vote passes can they really just go against what the majority wanted and completely flip the outcome around? and from a political view wouldn't that destroy any support they had from the majority? as a politician it wouldn't sound like they'd have anything to gain. but I thought on propositions and things like this it was totally up to the majority vote.
on a personal level, I don't really see how people can expect the majority of people to go for something like that. it's not a happy thought, but honestly there is a large chunk of the population that are just coming to terms with the fact homosexuals exist, much less us getting any rights. like you said, we gotta be patient. I personally think it's ridiculous when people get super upset that things like this don't pass on the first or second go. let's be reasonable here, y'know? it just isn't likely.

EXCUSE?! WTF? Seriously, how is being bi-curious an excuse? I'm bi-curious. You know why? Because I've never fucked a dude, but I'm very curious. Unfortunately, I'm also very married to a woman, so it seems it will stay in the curious catagory. I don't know how this is an "excuse". That's like saying you have to fulfill certain requirements to be a member of a community. Does the fact that I'm mostly straight and married to a woman mean I can't also engage myself in the homosexual, or bisexual community? I don't understand your narrow-minded thinking.
well didn't the people decide for themselves with their votes?
Yes, lets allow the majority to dictate how laws should be applied to a minority group...that really works toward ensuring total freedom and equality for all individuals of a society.

You don;t undertsand how people could be upset that the law has just placed them in the "second-class citizen" catagory because it was the "first go around"? Should they just sit on their hands and say "maybe next time..." - because that sort of mentality really works for a progression of a society.

well didn't the people decide for themselves with their votes?
Yes but the pro same-sex marriage side was making the argument that the proposition was such a big change to the state constitution that it required a 3/4ths majority vote to pass (it only passed by 52%). The California supreme court said that the proposition was not a big change to the state constitution and that they did not want to go against the will of the people, so they upheld the ban on gay marriage. Even though they upheld the ban the court chose not to invalidate the 18,000 gay marriages that occurred during the time when gay marriage was legal.
The pro gay marriage side was hoping this would not happen but they were expecting it. I'm pretty sure the pro gay marriage side will put a proposition in a future ballot that will reverse the ban. Its a losing battle for the anti-gay marriage folks.
I can understand older folks being intolerant of bigoted but what troubles me is when I see young people take up old, ignorant ideas.

Call it the "Clear Channelization" of music. You'll find fair/good stuff in the mainstream from time to time, but you gotta REALLY look to find anything genuinely good for any given genre.

I'm pretty sure it has been posted. Today was the first time I bothered visiting the site and trying it out. I started laughing. That was pure gay pandering. (Not that its bad.) It just means that companies recognize the gay dolla and are trying to win it.
I once told my friends that the community should unite and only vacation on pro-gay marriage states and avoid those that pass bans. That will really hit them where it hurts. California businesses that contributed to the gay marriage ban proposition where freaking out when it came time for their contributions to be revealed to the public. There was immediate backlash and those fools lost customers because of it. Its funny how folks love to push intolerance and hate but they hate it when their bottom line gets smaller.

I know, but if I want to state something on another thread, I can always do that. There's no need for intentional linking to other threads. It just seem like the post was linked, just for the pleasure of some to laugh at the fact that forum members would find a MtF attractive, and for the sheer sake of amusement and entertainment. I don't exactly like being seen as a circus act, ya'know?
That's not the reason I did it. There was a homophobic prick in the other thread and he kept talking about we needed to keep that "f@g" shit down. I told him I agreed with him and to come hang out where all the fine people were at, and I put a link to the gay thread. He got all weirded out and eventually realized that we were all cool and was no longer all homophobe'd out because we were saying he was hot.
We went through a lot back in the day to get GLBTs to be seen in a different light on here so new members can feel welcome and not have to hide who they are.

That thread didn't start everything, as there were gays like GTC that were the first gay avengers on here, but as time has gone by it has become easier to be a GLBT on here. You won't make it easier on yourself with the attitude that everyone is here to laugh at you and have amusement at your expense, since it's not the case. You're a hot chick and on SRK that's welcomed. ;D

I don't know how to respond to this without crushing the ideal situation you want entirely, hun  These boards aren't exactly "kind," but they grow on you. What you're asking for is a respect that just isn't here.... stay out of the rest of the threads in General Discussion... for your own sake... at least for a while .
You're not the only MtF on this site, but you will get attention (of all kinds) whether it's wanted or not.

Yeah, its okay, I know what you mean. Was the same, back in the Counter-Strike community, still is to some extent but it's become less fashionable to be really homophobic now. I just didn't like that comment, "they can't help it, yellow fever is too strong" it just made it seem like... well... it was wrong or something.
All just a misunderstanding, not mad or anything tho.
No, I was just making fun of what JustB said. If you're an asian chick on SRK (WHICH IS RARE) you're going to be queen of the forums. :wgrin:

It definitely wasn't in that sort of "circus" vein. Not at all. It's definitely a pic that a mouth-breather like that asshole would drool at on sight.
The dude that was talking shit just needed to be set straight. Personally I thought it was a good move to delve into his insecurity. You just don't judge people like that and expect no backlash.

I'm a bit late, like always, especially since I haven't turned on the TV with any regularity in at least the past year and I've been sleeping most of the day on top of not being at home most of yesterday, but I have to comment a bit on the whole Prop 8 thing.
I really would have liked for "justice" to mean something for once (despite it not existing), which is why I guess of course it yet again didn't since this week seems like it's just full of horrible things (for me). Hell, apparently this Supreme Court decision happened this week (http://mightygodking.com/index.php/2009/05/26/while-everybody-else-was-abuzz-over-sonia-sotomayor/#comments) and that's WAY worse--if the Supreme Court is anyone near the same when/if this issue gets there, then I expect them to just uphold it at the very least.
(I wonder if they could get it federally banned since, really, most states are just going to end up doing it anyway. In a really morose way, a federal ban would at least shore up some of the incredibly stupid devisiveness in this moronic country through its "united" states, if only because of "force".)
I think what really annoys me, outside of my still blaming San Francisco for Prop. 8 passing (because I of course needed more reasons to dislike that city as a whole), is that they seemed to think that letting the marriages to stay intact was a fair compromise.
How the hell does that even work? I mean, marriage is primarily a legal thing (despite popularity of the idea that it's "for love"), and if this "certain type" ( ) of marriage is essentially illegal, then what the hell is the point of upholding them? It just seems all unnecessarily confusing, especially where taxation is involved (which is pretty much THE reason to get married outside of those stupidly exclusive hospital rights).
It just seems akin to banning miscegnation and then letting all "different race" couples that are married stayed together: It makes no sense on multiple levels.
I don't know. I just think that taking it to the Supreme Court (for what little occasional good they do) is just asking to get fucked over even harder than by retarded masses since at least some of the latter don't vote. I can completely understand the pro-equality group being all reluctant about it and thinking that this is the wrong way to go.
How do you guys deal with this (even though I know some of you probably don't want to get married anyway)?

Why the hate on Frisco!??! Why do you blame the town on Prop 8 getting passed?
If the gay marriage ban went all the way to the Supreme Court, I could see them saying one of two things. They could say, this is a state's rights issue and the SC can't overturn what was voted in by the people of the state and the ban stays in place. Or they could say, this goes against the US constitution and the ban gets smashed. I'm not a lawyer or a legal scholar so who knows. I don't even know if the equal rights folks want to do this.
Obama is against making a federal law legalizing gay marriage and says its up to each state to make it legal. So far we've seen a whole series of states legalizing it this year. I predict it will be a while before all 50 states legalize it but it'll happen eventually. Parts of the GOP no longer even care about gay marriage (and are even for it because it makes them look more moderate).
That was a hell of a stupid Supreme Court decision. Thanks for the link. I was completely surprised by that. I am really curious what idiotic reasoning they had for allowing that BS to pass.
In regards to gay marriage in California, what I am optimistic about is that the equal rights groups here are more mobilized and ready then they were before-- so they are ready to fight and I feel like the LGBT community here is ready to take it to the streets also. Furthermore, I think the marriage ban organizations are going to have a harder time getting support and mobilization because businesses and individuals who donated money and resources to the Yes on 8 campaign got backlash for doing so.
Its frustrating to see such blatant discrimination but its a losing battle.

Why the hate on Frisco!??! Why do you blame the town on Prop 8 getting passed?
I used to live in San Francisco for the first 12 years of my life. As such, I just don't get why people think it's so damned wonderful, especially the tourists. It's a crowded hellhole that's constantly bustling with stupid tourists, blatant illegals (and I'm not just talking about Mexicans--*refuses to set foot in Chinatown*), completely reckless drivers, crazy homeless and everything is completely overpriced even before the now 9+% sales taxes comes into effect.
And that's just the "beautiful" downtown area and not the (way) worse places like the Tenderloin or Hunter's Point or whatever.
The only actually nice places are near the water, like the Wharf or going towards Ocean Beach (even though the actual beach is really dirty and the water is freezing cold most of the time from what I little I remember of it).
As for why I blame SF for it getting passed, I want to first say that while it's not solely "their" (read: the people in the Castro's) fault, SF's support was lackluster at best and downright anti-equality at best.
I mean, between Gavin Newsom being the blatantly idiotic jackass he apparently is with the whole "hey, let's just try and shove this down people's throats and tell them there's nothing they can do about it; that can't possibly ever backfire" commerical that end up being used a piece of anti-marriage propaganda (and rightly so, unfortunately; it's not like Newsom had anything really sake, so of course he wouldn't have to reign in his comments) and like, what, only 20% of people in SF (or was it just the Castro, I forget) voting on the issue at all (or was in support of it, I forget), SF is basically why the proposition won by a slim margin instead of potentially losing (like it should have) by an even slimmer margin.
I will admit, it's hypocritcal of me to say anything considering I didn't vote even though I'm of age (and have apparently registered, if the constant requests for jury duty are to be believed), but I guess that should be expected. I mean, I'm black and I live in Oakland (for now). We vote hypocritcally to oppress other minorities because we've never ever experienced anything like that and most certainly never bring it up almost whenever possible. [/not bitter or greatly annoyed or anything like that]
P.S. I guess it's just because, even if I hadn't gotten emotionally obliterated earlier today, I'm not nearly as sure as you that California or most states will do the "right thing".

I'm pretty much in a similar boat. I'm going because i've never been to Evo. Get my ass handed to me by some top tier whores, then just wander around for awhile until it's over. I have a very, VERY cynical outlook on the possibility of us as gays getting any new rights. Basically I don't expect anything good like that to happen during my lifetime... and if it does, well what a pleasant surprise! I just don't see the point in getting my panties in a twist over it. I think people who are expecting us to already have all these marriage rights/have all these things pass the voting public are just kidding themselves.

Umm, if everyone was gay and lesbian, then the gay men can do artificial insemination into the women, as well as just putting sperm in a turkey baster and shooting it in the woman. It happens quite often.

i'm on the fence.. i have the time off and the money but not sure if my bf is coming with and so on. he's got to look at his time off situation closer to the date.
Awwww, whose going to be my bear guide at Evo?! I want you to come (pun intended).
The great thing about gay people it seems though is that they seem to open up their emotions and feelings more. I know, it's stereotypical and cliched but it really does show...
Well, it kinda helps that we won't hide our true emotions and feelings anymore by being stuck in the closet. Stripping the macho, male gender role exterior for the soft, gooey interior. And boy is it gooey. I like saying gooey.
gooey.
One day I'll bring my camera to the jobsite and get a buddy o mine to take a picture of me in my hard hat and work boots. I work in bricklaying building homes so, yeah, im a stereotype. :wgrin: . I'm going to look up flights and hotels now. If i can do this for a grand i will. canadian dollar is .90 so its a good time to buy a ticket.
OR! or... we can bring our cameras and and take pictures of you out of your hard hat and work boots. haha. Who wants wallet sizes?
And nice, man. It's all good even if you didn't come to Evo. I didn't know you're a Canadian bear? Puts a new spin on how delicious maple syrup is.

what the everyone becoming homo or the ceasing to exist?
Umm, if everyone was gay and lesbian, then the gay men can do artificial insemination into the women, as well as just putting sperm in a turkey baster and shooting it in the woman. It happens quite often.
procreation would still be possible even if everyone in the world were gay.
I asked this question once before but: How would the world be a better place if there were no more gays?
The religious zealots would continue to bicker but now they'd bicker about baptist being closer to gods will than protestants or whatever? Marriage would not be saved because people would continue to cheat and divorce would still happen. Teen pregnancy would still be on the rise in the us. STD's wouldn't magically disappear.. and if regulations on sexuality are imposed on the population what's next "anal sex banned" "oral sex banned"
sexually suggestive materials banned.. it would never stop. I know that's a slippery slope but it is possible.

By that time they will have kids playing "SF8: The New Progeny of the Next Generation". Flowchart Ken will start having arthritis after too many repeated shoryukens, Ryu with a mid-life crisis and unable to Hadoken, E. Honda receives a gastric bypass surgery and is now diabetic, Chun-Li's breasts will start to sag, Sagat will be blind in both eyes and wrapped in a lower body cast, and Balrog will have a face tattoo with an Ultra combo where he bites off both ears of an opponent.
But most of all, we find out Zangief is just really a big, ol' gay bear.

I sure wish I could escape the whole paradigm that I have a large age gap in my relationship, thus, I
have daddy issues
have had trauma at some point in my life
am being used
am delusional if I think I am in love
etc ad nauseum. I just got psychologically dissected by this guy who deduces all these things because he has the wisdom and personal experience (later ask him to find out he's 22 and has never personally dated someone older) to say so. I fit a few stereotypes and thus I must fit all the other ones for younger/older gay relationships and I am just being kept around because I am youthful, he wants company and a good fuck, but does not care about me. I mean I subjected myself to it, I was interested in why he was so sure about these things, but after a while it just got annoying. I am naive when it comes to love life, I'll be the first to admit that, but you can't just shut down everything I say because "I am 20, and will never see outside my viewpoint" or some shit like that. Everyone in the world with an opinion on anything EVER is going to have a skewed viewpoint, that's how being a human works. This guy is too much. After hours of 'debating' or whatever the hell we just did, he more or less finally is on my side and thinks I may have a real relationship. And I thought I'd never win.
I stopped taking him seriously at
10:59:11 PM) the second issue, even if he's serious, your relationship has no future, a 20 year old and a 50 year old have nothing in common, you just can't, it's not feasible, you have life experiences so different and you're just in 100% different stages in your life.
Seriously? Yes it is 100% UNFEASIBLE for people not born in the same time to have common interests. Alrighty then.
11:03:50 PM) old guys don't want to cruise anymore, they just want a steady source of blowjobs and barebacking
(11:04:11 PM) do you bareback?
(11:04:16 PM) orangesharpies: *sigh* yes
(11:04:20 PM) wow it's like I'm psychic
(11:09:04 PM) It's just that your situation is so stereotypical
(11:09:17 PM) the other stereotypes are that much more likely to be true.
(11:10:07 PM) orangesharpies: what is stereotypical about it?
(11:10:11 PM) orangesharpies: the age gap and barebacking and?
(11:10:31 PM) orangesharpies: and try not to say 'everything'
(11:11:10 PM) Well if you had more life experience prior to this relationship, you would have known the potential dangers
(11:11:36 PM) orangesharpies: no, I knew the dangers and it was a hurdle for me to move it from a hookup to a 'relationship'
(11:11:43 PM) orangesharpies: but I felt that it was worth it I guess
(11:11:53 PM) orangesharpies: even if it ends up being a sham
(11:11:58 PM) orangesharpies: I have learend a lot along the way
(11:12:02 PM) orangesharpies: so I don't feel like it's a waste of my time/life
(11:12:14 PM) No but it's gonna end in tears.
(11:12:18 PM) for you
and then the dude turns out to be twenty fucking two. After saying all this shit like "well that's what you think, but you're 20." :looney:
anyway, I just wanted to rant about this guy, he was just... too much. Self-entitled freud nuthuggers are way too deep for me to talk to on aim. And for some extra lols:
(12:45:41 AM) What do you study?
(12:45:47 AM) what do you know a lot about?
(12:45:54 AM) orangesharpies: heh, nothing
(12:45:57 AM) orangesharpies: aspire to study language though
(12:46:03 AM) orangesharpies: I want to be a polyglot
(12:46:06 AM) There's nothing you know well?
(12:46:10 AM) orangesharpies: nope
(12:46:11 AM) orangesharpies: I am useless
(12:46:14 AM) orangesharpies: :D
(12:46:27 AM) orangesharpies: maybe when I get back into school
(12:46:28 AM) Alright, well if you can't be serious this conversation can't continue.
(12:46:38 AM) orangesharpies: o_o
(12:46:49 AM) orangesharpies: there's really nothing I'm intellectually specialized in
(12:46:58 AM) nothing at all?
(12:47:19 AM) orangesharpies: I got my high school diploma and then smoked a shitload of pot for a while
(12:47:28 AM) orangesharpies: language is my thing
(12:47:31 AM) orangesharpies: if I had to answer
(12:47:36 AM) orangesharpies: but I wouldn't say I know a lot yet
(12:47:38 AM) orangesharpies: y'know?
(12:47:52 AM) I'm only two years older than you and I know an enormous amount lolllll I just didn't even know what to say after that. I told him I was socially awkward and he diagnosed me with aspergers. Just like that, he was like "aspergers." and I was like ? and he was like "you have it."
What a fucking character.
I talked to this guy for hours, and I don't know why. It was like a car wreck you can't look away from.
~~
but really like, I feel like everywhere I go, if I admit I like significantly older guys, it's disgusting, morally wrong, I'm being used, and/or I have issues. I understand the fear of the unknown and things that are different, people are pretty xenophobic by nature. but like, so many people cannot accept the fact that I can have a regular, healthy relationship with someone much older. I just don't get along with people my age, why is that so hard to believe? No, I don't fucking call him daddy.

....
tell that twatgoblin to stfu.
I have daddy issues.. infact dangerously so. A hot daddy can pretty much get me to do anything ANYTHING with very little resistance. Add to that i'm addicted to touch.. but thats a whole other story.
before the information age he might have been right there might have been absolutely nothing that a 50 year old and a 20 year old would have in common. But these days.. I'm not so sure that's true anymore. Personally I'd still consider situations like yours and Iwst's Exceptions, not the rule. But the fact that it works for you shows that there are viable exceptions to the cliche' that the age gap makes the relationship impossible.
What's more is attraction is what it is. You like what you like. And the fact that this guy is trying to "understand" or "breakdown" your attraction is super lame. He doesn't understand it.. but why does he have to understand it. It Just is.

Word, and that was before we were really in a relationship. I didn't bother mentioning that to him because it would just be cannon fodder for his side. It's so hilarious to me that this fucking 22 year old thinks he has leaps and bounds above me in the wisdom department and tons of personal experience. Dude, you're 22 and you're dating a 19 year old. Where the fuck is the personal experience? He wouldn't answer the question, he "just knows" how (all) older guys work. Hilarious. I love it. As if you hit a certain age and your entire fucking character and personality just goes down the shitter because you are X age. How do people even think that? It will be hilarious when he turns 30 or 40 or whatever age he thinks people just 'snap' into this predator mode. I have to keep talking to him next time I get a chance, it's unbelievable. You'll grow so much emotionally and intellectually just by being with someone way older than you and like your man. What the hell can that dude learn from a 19yo? It helps that your man sounds really smart, working for Boeing and all. That's one of the reasons I like being with older men, it's not always the case, but I usually learn new things about life and myself. They obviously have more life experience then you or I, and although a lot of them are still really childish even for their age, you can still learn a thing or two.

Texas heat, lake water I don't even want to think about falling in to, and a need to keep my lower body free from tanning. What can I do? I was thinking a light blue, ankle length, feather weight skirt and sandals and a bikini top covered by a really thin white button up shirt. What do you think?

Yeah, it's really awesome like that. People born in different times have awesome and interesting vocabularies. I learn new words all the time! And I'm all about the vocab. I think that even if I am capable of being attracted to someone my age enough to be in a relationship, I think that I would be extremely bored in one because I just wouldn't learn nearly as much cool shit. Sometimes I feel lame and useless because the only things I teach him are like what gangster slang words are, and things about drugs or video games. I'm like damn, I don't know anything cool! But at the same time it's inspiring and motivates me to get back in school, so it's all good.

Anyway, old news now, haven't talked to him in a while.
~~
Went to a tourney in portland yesterday. 4th in HD Remix (out of 16 :/ this game is dead) SIM SIM SALABIM, and 9th in SF4. Well you tie for 9th but it sounds cooler saying I got 9th. I believe there was 28 people in SF4. I've ditched abel as my alt/potential main and am going Fuerte 'til I die. Sure I feel like throwing my stick when I lose because of his vitality and this game's game-ruining GUTS system, but it's still more fun than working too hard (in a non-fun way) with Abel. I really wish my matches were recorded because they were as clutch as a fighting game match can get. Well here's the whole story:
My BF lives in Oklahoma City and I live in Tulsa. We are about 2 hours apart. I live with my homophobic overly religious parents still, so seeing him is a bit of a challenge.
So about 2 weeks ago we decided that we could each choose ONE person to help relieve our physical needs since we hardly got to see each other until I was out of my parents house and in college -- then we'd go back to being monogamous. The stipulation was we had to play safe and TELL one another when we were going to see that 'special friend'.
Well, I drove down to see him over the weekend and he admitted to me that a month ago (before our little pact) when he was in Tennessee on business he invited a guy to his hotel room to hang out and they had sex..
Well, after sitting at one of his company parties (he works for Dell) for 6 hours the night before I was just a -little- pissed.
I mean, at least he was honest about it right? He could have just never told me and I would have never found out ... so he gets some points back there...
I love him to death.. I mean I'd die for the man.. but damn this hurts
EDIT: And to answer Cow's question, no, I haven't dumped him... I love him too much. Am I a fool?

4 months is a short time but in gay time 4 months is almost a year.
if it bothers you this much than maybe you guys would be better suited waiting till he moves closer or you move out if that is in the forseeable future.
As for the rules of an open relationship.. they are different for everyone. Some guys don't want to know at all what the partner is doing and who he slept with. Others are only open when they are apart. some are only open when they are together.
the key is what you guys aggreed upon and it sounds like (imo) you guys werent completely sure of the terms of the relationship. He may have just felt (at the time) that it's unreasonable for you to think that he wouldn't be playing if you live under lock and key 2 hours away.
We did last week. We both came back neg.
good for you guys :encore:

and yet you are still sad/ pissed about this.
My question is.. what exactly are you pissed/sad about? Regardless if you choose to forgive this offense you have to truly let it go.. that means no bringing it back up in later fights. or using this offense as a get out of jail card free. That may not mean anything to you now... but in a few years...

Way to be in SF4 Mech. Their reaction to your Elf victories remind me of myself and Remy in 3S. No one expects the low tier characters to put up a good fight. I personally rather play a low tier (but fun) character then a high tier but boring character.

I just want to say one thing that I read that kinda irks me because i just dont understand, and this isnt going to sh1fty personally, but as a general statement to everyone. This "a mans got needs" bullshit. Like, really? If you love someone, then you love someone. I was married to a guy for 6 years. When I was with him I loved him so much that the general idea of having sex with anyone else turned me off. It actually made me feel nauseous. He became diabetic and was undiagnosed about 2 years into our relationship. The first couple years we were fucking all the time, but after he got sick the frequency became further and further apart. The longest we went with out having sex was 10 months. Yes, I was horny. Yes, I would get as close to begging with out actually begging. But never did I think "I should fuck someone else because I'm a man and I have needs.". Sex is not a necessary function of our bodies. It's not like eating and breathing. Trying to justify betraying someone you say you love by putting it down as "having needs" is selfish and not in the same vain as love.
Everyone here knows life is going to fuck you up. You can't count on anything. What are you going to do if your husband of 15 years gets paralyzed? No more sex. Are you going to betray 15 years of commitment and go somewhere else because you need to fuck?
Having a open releationship is a different story altogether and that a personal choice.
But, sh1fty, dont sell your self cheap. You guys were in a monogamous relationship at the time he cheated on you and thats not loyalty.... which is imo the most important virtue of what it means to be a man.

Yeah, I loved him a lot, though. He also told me the night we made the 'pact' he ended up sleeping with another guy. So what I had thought was him trying to show a good gesture turned out him having an excuse so it wouldn't be 'cheating'. I just feel like shit since I'm the one who got dumped when I didn't do anything wrong.
Oh well, such is life I suppose
Edit: And honestly, I do (did?) love him to death, and the only reason I went with that pact is because I thought he would be happier in the end. I'm really a more monogamous kind of guy and it did bother me to hear him talk about sex with other people.. but he seemed happier because of it..

You know interesting that you mention that Bastion. I had been thinking on the same line about how everyone says "Men will be men" and all that and how it's all instinct.
I think this tends to be a cop out for a lot of guys because a lot of them aren't willling to self sacrafice and compromise. I see a lot of relationships crumble cause people aren't willing to budge and actually give up part of themselves or their lives.
As far as the instinct thing goes, I've always held the mindset that there are a LOT of instinct that humans have, given that we're basically animals. But we also have brains. We can differentiate between a temporary physical desire and a commitment.
As far as open relationships go, I don't have a problem with them. I couldn't do it myself cause I know how I am. I think that they aren't for everyone, but people jump into them cause they think they are this easy thing that they can get used to.
Ay, such a mess of things I'm trying to say, but I don't think I'm articulating everything right.

I love the way you think. :)
For most of my sex life I was totally banging everything that moved, and all of the sudden something clicked in me and I didn't want any of that shit. Even when I was with someone we lived far but I used that as an excuse and slept around, but I didn't want that anymore and I realized I only did it cause I wasn't satisfied in my relationship. I feel exactly how you do about relationships, and I'm surprised to hear somebody else with the same viewpoint, especially in the gay community. Open relationships are a no no to me and not even a consideration, I only have eyes for my BF and don't want anyone else. Nor should my "means" be met by someone else because I am a man. I guess if I really had to I could JO and that would be that.

What do you base this on?
Everyone I've ever talked to (except probably you), but I should've been more clear.
I dunno how to phrase what I mean. They can work, but they don't work like a normal relationship? I don't know, you can't expect to get the same level of satisfaction from something long distance. To me you simply can't build it into what a relationship should be until you're close enough to be able to see each other now and again. Even just on weekends or every other weekend, but like any less than that, and IMO it doesn't work like a relationship. It's like a relationship-to-be, and it's never really gonna be right until you close the gap somewhat, or one of you could lose patience (and something like shifty's situation could happen). That's just how I see it, I don't have personal experience with very long distance relationships. Everyone I know who's in one seems pretty miserable to me though (the kind where you might as well be internet lovers, never see each other irl and all that). I guess I can't throw out baseless statements like 'they don't work' without being more clear.
Annnyyway, shifty, you're better off like this, from what I can tell. He's hurting you now but it'd hurt even more later, and it sounded like it was coming either way. Hope you're alright, though. Can't say that I know how you feel, but wish you well. <3

I do think it's worth mentioning that people with sex pretty high on their priority list probably shouldn't get themselves into monogamous relationships in the first place, especially not the kind where you end up limiting your playing field to one person you won't have much access to.
While I do 100% agree with a guy having needs (obviously this doesn't apply to everyone, particularly the more old fashioned types who see sex as more than just a fun time), I also agree that using it as a justification to cheat in a monogamous relationship is fucking retarded because it's little more than an admission of defeat. If anything, it's more of a justification for why the relationship probably shouldn't continue; if your needs aren't being met, then clearly it's not working out.
sh1fty, I'm sorry to hear he dumped you and gave you such a bullshit reason for it. An LDR is a tough road, though, needless to say he couldn't handle it even considering you guys were in the same state (I know what it is to not have that luxury :().
Personally, I'm not ready for monogamy at all (I guess the manlust is TOO strong haha), and if my unfortunately brief but eye opening experience in a triad is of any indication, I'm not going to rule out the possibility that it may very well not be for me. I'm still young and have plenty of time to figure myself out, so I'm in no rush. Either way, I'm not the jealous type in the least, so open relationships are cool with me. Sharing is caring. :)

Instinct in humans can be argued about forever. But, I belong to the side that believes humans have no instincts. Instincts are defined as not having to be learned and be irresitable (among a few other criteria). When we talk about Sex in humans, firstly it is learned, and secondly it isn't irresistable (not in the true definition of the word). Even eating isnt a instinct because a person can starve themself.
Yes, we are animals. But we are different. We have the closest thing to freewill that will ever exist. And the greatest difference between a man and a animal is a man can make a sacrifice. No animal can decide to jeopardize it's own well being for anything.

Yeah, when I jacked off I thought of him 95% of the time. But the nature of thought when we beat it is like, these flashes and fragments of scenes, previous sexual encounters. Like a montage of the past, present, and fantasy. When shit started going bad in the relationship in the last year I think I was probally fantacising about other men (fictional or otherwise) more. And I would watch porn of course.
I've thought about killing someone, that doesnt make me a murderer. ;)
I'm not a better man than any other man. Just my own man. And thankfully for each of us the most important aspect of being a man is we get to choose what kind of man we want to be.
Initially sex is important. And it becomes less important. And then, once your old, and you are with the person you can't imagine ever being without you'll think about sex and laugh. Like a baby blanket you once held it in such high regard, and your good temperment relied on it's nearby proximity, and then you'll discard it as the novelty of flesh and youth that it is.
Now I sound like a prude. lol. But nah, I fuck my ex twice a week still cause that ass is crazy tight and I love his fat portuguese cock. But, im 25 and full of vigor. I got alot of life to live. :razzy:

Really? I don't consider sex an instinct (well, we'll never truly know but maybe it was back in the day before intelligent communication) but you really think humans have no instincts? You've never felt that inherent fight or flight response? Or like if you saw an abandoned baby your first thought wouldn't be to help it (coming from someone who hates children  ). When someone you care about gets hurt in your presence you don't have that instinctual "!" feeling?
I get all sorts of gut instinct feelings. Really doesn't seem like anything affected/learned.

shit, twelve times a day! now i really wish i lived next door. lol. my record was 8 times, I didnt go for 9 because I was actually ejaculating a little blood. My urethra was raw. I whack it at least twice a day now. That is mandatory. Sometimes more. But I find that anymore then 4 and my dick gets raw because I have these really intense razor like callouses on my hand from work.

Well, like I said its debatable. Its one of those philosophical things that will probally never be agreed on. Your talking about altruism, and technically its not truly irresitable. There are boys in afghanistan being raped so bad that their intestines drag in the dirt after the assault. I know this is happening. And I lose sleep over it. But im not doing anything to solve the problem. The closest thing we do that is instinctual is sleep. It is irresitable. It isnt learned. It never changes, our method of sleeping stays constant our entire lives.
google this shit. its actually an interesting read. im just regurgitating shit ive read anyway.

I wish you lived next door too :D
And, as a psychology major, I do believe we as humans have instincts, ESPECIALLY 'fight or flight'

oh, and on the current (or previous?) subject: I feel we have a few, less common, instincts...but I don't believe in the "need" to fuck (others) when you are truly in love with someone : /
