Word. My current setup doesn't allow to get on XBL and my laptop's internet at the same time so I'm one-or-the-other at the moment, but if you see me on here just shoot me a PM if you want to play. I always have about 3 or 4 mains in a fighter I play regularly, but I wait until I understand all the foundations first. So I'm sticking with Jin and Rachel for now, until I feel like I have a good grasp of the game, then I plan on adding in Taokaka and one other.

And I can actually accept invites on this game. I never can on SF4. It just hangs and drops me. So being able to play folks on the friends list for once is nice.

It's more like they start top tier (spiral, doom, blackheart...) and then people find the weaknesses in their projectile spam and they drop a bit. I think rachel and v-13 will slowly go down, arakune may stay up, I think carl is gonna be buff too, eddie junior.

It probably depends on the game then, some require a bit more "focus" while other games just require you to know the basics of the system and you can pick up anyone. IE: Soul Calibur.

Well the kind of person who's only into stuff I'm not interested in (cars, guns, sports, girls ) isn't the kind of person I really wanna become friends with in the first place. I make plenty of straight guy friends in the fighting game scene, but that's about it. Most the other ones I know are just too into beer pong, cars, punching each other, pretending to be gay, all that madness.

I prefer male friends to be gay, outside of fighting games and shit. I mean like... I don't know how to phrase that. If you're cool I don't [i]care, but if I were just like searching for some prerequisite, gay is just easier because we start with something in common and you're not gonna be a homophobe. :lol:

i'd say just look for friends who do the same things you do. go to a bar/arcade (barcade?) and strike up some friendly conversation about current crap. i.e. dude, how do you get around Ivy's zoning range? or something like that to open up conversation.

or you could do what i do best: lie. :wgrin: i can think quickly on the spot when talking to people. just start up a conversation somehow and if the other person starts spewing off random crap that you have no knowledge/idea/interest for, make some shit up and act like you know what you're talking about and then switch the conversation to something else.

this way you're already engaged in some kind of conversation, names have been dropped somewhere at the beginning and a little bit of rapport is established, whether it's based on truth or a white lie, not that bigadeal. if it's a friendship that's actually going somewhere, then, as friends you can sort through it and no harm done. if it's a friendship that doesn't go anywhere... well then you've already established them as an acquaintance and that's where they'll stay.

i'm not a compulsive liar and i don't do it too much; i only lie if it serves to benefit the overall conversation. but i'm damned good at it, if i can toot my own horn. haha, i'll get off my soapbox now

Ive met several middle aged white men, but to be honest I find it a bit weird. They are almost always excellent conversationalists but it seems like some kind of minority/hood fetish or something. And theyre always those pale, blond haired, blue eyed types. I find the south eastern European look more appealing for men and women..with the olive skin, jet black hair, dark eyes thing going on.

Its almost impossible for me to tell if a white man is gay. I was telling my friend this the other day. Society is pretty lax on the rules of heterosexuality in comparison of white people and non-whites. I still know lots of people who naturally assume a black guy is gay if he has on a v-neck or is wearing a pair of skinny jeans. They have more or less been pigeonholed into "urban attire" or "business casual" and that really blows me. There are also a number of other stereotypes that send off "red flags" for black and latino men in particular like diction and crisp speech and feminine mannerisms. Sounds really prehistoric I know, I think its probably because I stay in the south and black Christianity is the devil.

Im not one to really spill these types of things to the world, but ive never encountered a forum in all my days full of men of a similar lifestyle so if there were any place for advice..


I talked to DrumlinerJoe earlier today about it. But I still have no conclusion.

What it basically boils down to is this, I will be 22 years old on Thursday and I have NEVER EVER IN MY LIFE BEEN IN A RELATIONSHIP. I have absolutely no idea why. I have "talked" to a few people, but its never really lasted long enough for anything. I dont do random hookups, i dont do booty calls or fuck buddies, so I have an emotional void that I need filled, often and Im beginning to feel desperate. I know im a smart guy, and im ok looking and I shouldnt "look" for it but at the say time Im just wondering when it will fall out the sky and land on my head. I know im young and stuff, but 22 years? Ridiculous. I feel so empty, Im doing everything I want to in life at the moment, but Im not as happy as I could be because im single. Its so cliche but its so true.


So about that "breakdown"..


Yesterday a few of my friends went to NC because it was gay pride weekend there. Whatever. I have another excuse to get sloshed in the club then go home. Earlier that day we went to the mall and my two friends ended up running into old date after old date. It didnt bother me at all until one of my friends old booty calls ran into us and began to flirt and show some type of interest in me at the mall. The guy had to have been about 35, very nice looking, great body, ex-military, well established, nice job..etc etc but my friend only seem to talk so great about his sex and nothing else. It kinda bothered me because if I were to actually stumble upon a guy like that I wouldnt let my childish behavior or sex obsession ruin something so great. It just seems like my friends have so many ex-es that were what most people would call a "good catch" and yet they write it off as a life experience and on to the next guy. So if you could imagine, its a hard pill to swallow watching your friends throw away good guys because they want to live life, while im on the sidelines at 22 having NEVER been in a relationship.

To make matters worse, my friend got drunk at the club that night and confided in me that the guy thought I was "cute" and that he was interested in me. Then he offered me the lovely invite back to his hotel room after the club for a threesome, that I humbly declined.

I just dont know. A4A, BGC and alot those other sex sites are full of morons and weirdos, Im not the type to approach people and sometimes people say i look unapproachable. I think im going to go nuts if I have to keep falling asleep every night daydreaming about some perfect person to appear outta thin air and alleviate these crazy feelings.

You really do have plenty of time, and as such I'd say you shouldn't let it bother you that you haven't had a relationship yet, but you also really don't NEED to wait at all. Be as active in looking for a guy as you want, just keep in mind you're not always going to be rewarded for the effort you put into the search. You're also gonna have to learn to be the type to approach if you see something/someone you like, or else you'll end up with a lot of missed opportunities.

Definitely try to keep yourself grounded though. The way you talk about your friends tossing good guys (who could very well just be good catches on paper) as wasted potential comes across as a little bit idealistic, and that idealism is very much going to be put to the test in your first relationship, especially since it will be as an adult, where the real world has a heavy hand in the way things play out.

Well, I'm a bit new here, and I've been following this thread since I'm in with the rest of you here, but that aside... I'd say I'm in your situation as well, to a degree. I'm 23 myself, and I haven't had what you'd call a relationship yet either, though that's mostly due to my parents, who probably wouldn't accept the idea of me being with another guy in any way. Once I move out, that might change, but for now I'm pretty much stuck.

As it stands, I really like one of best friends a lot, and I've admitted that to him. It didn't put him off, but he's a heterosexual, so it doesn't work out. It's a bit of a bad situation, because I'd say he's the type of guy I'd like to have a relationship with, as we share all of the same interests, enjoy spending time together, and agree on pretty much everything, but there's no way this would work out.

All the same, I've resigned myself to the fact that, for now, I'll just have to wait a good while. It stinks, and I don't particularly like it (especially when I hang out with the guy that's Mr. Perfect for me on a daily basis), but it just has to be done.

At the same time, though, I also feel that it's far better to wait for a true, quality relationship than it is to hurry into one that might not last long, be devoid of emotional investment, and generally leave me feeling worse than I did before I went for it. Even after I move out, it might take me a year or two to find the right guy for me... But if things work out well and we end up together for years or maybe even as life partners, the wait will be very much worth it.

Now, I might be completely naive here, and I might not understand precisely what it is you want, and this could all be a bit of my pointless rambling :sweat:. But that's how I feel about relationships and my current inability to do anything about them. I understand how you feel, certainly; it's not pleasant, and it's not enjoyable. But I think something good can come of the waiting, even if it takes awhile. I hope things change for the better for you, and you find the right person soon :smile:.

and i know what some would say to me is that "It's easy for you to say you are already in a relationship". To that i say heres my advice take it or leave it but i'm 31 i've been through it I can help.. or you can ignore me.

In anycase most people don't find there first relationships cause they were looking for one. My Current bf was actually my bff and i wasn't even looking for a boyfriend because i had given up all hope. It wasn't till he told me he was gonna move away to be with some guy in philly that i realized that i didn't want to loose him and after a lot of hugging and crying the relationship magically started. but there was 3 years of just nothing happening on the bf front at all. and tons of bad dates before that.


People meet in the strangest places though. so I say forget about trying to find a relationship and just keep your eyes open.. your skin moisturized, eyes poppin lips bussin and get out of the house. You have to ask yourself where would the guy i like to date be right now. YB you said you like butch guys. (i think thats what you said) maybe try visiting home depot / autozone or something like that .. check out different clubs and stuff. get out side your comfort zone try new things and dont be scared of rejection every no gets you closer to a yes.

Uhm, I was straight through high school (go rockets). Never found a dude attractive once on campus or even around town. I did think about it though since I was open to myself with fetishes and sexuality- kind of like "HRM I WONDER WHY PEOPLE LIKE THIS" and I would just look and see if it appealed to me or not. The M/M side of sex didn't appeal to me but it didn't bother me either, which surprised me.

I didn't get to the big screen on HDR - I ended up getting double jeopardy'd and beaten by the same blanka twice. I don't know man. Like, religion is the utmost of personal choices that it's pointless for anyone to talk about it. But I feel like I should say something here so I'll keep it personal and you can take what you want from it. I ask myself are my religious beliefs mine? Would I still have them if I was raised by parents of a different religion? If I was baptist and I asked myself, would I still be baptist if I was raised by Hindus that would be a tough question. Religion it seems to me is inherited because it is expressed as the single truth to us at a age when we cant even question anything. So we don't. What I've come to do is question my actions and ask myself if I'm a good man. I know what is right and wrong. And I'm at a place now, where my belief is that ultimately it doesn't matter if God exists or not. I'm going to be the best man I can be regardless because I believe its the right thing to do. And when I die if it turns out their is some sort of God and a judgement I'll kneel and say hey, I never killed, I never stole, I never maliciously hurt anyone, I was charitable, and I treated everyone equally without judging anyone. Thank you for the gift of life, and I wholeheartedly accept your decisions of where I will spend eternity. That's all I feel I can do. And I can't see any reasonable God having issue with that.
