When SF4 came out I found srk.com and since then I've been avidly reading (and ocasionally posting) in the SF4 forum... But never looked these other threads.

I play SF4 with my friends, even attended a couple of tournaments here in Madrid... But the SF scene is so poor here, we don't even have any sf4 arcade machines!!

But, next September I'm going to New York!! (one of my dreams since I was a child!) And I thought, it'd be cool if someone at SRK could help me find some arcades in NY and possibly play some games with me!!

And that's how I came out of the SF4 forums and I saw this thread... a gay thread in SRK?? Yay!

If any of you are from NY, it'd be great if you could show me arcades, pubs, clubs, etc. I'm coming with two straight friends so gay clubbing is not in the schedule...:wonder: Otherwise, which other thread is better to find sf4 players in NY?

Thanks man. After rewatching the vids I did do better than I thought, but I still am a little disappointed. I usually play smarter, especially not with throwing out ultras. I didn't think any of those would land but tried it out of desperation. I will catch lesser players with the gross wakeup ultra because they get caught up in the momentum and try to throw. Dan is so sly for that. Well I thought maybe the last ultra would hit, hoping he committed to a button. But nope, he was baiting it. Either way, thanks man. Always appreciate people's good words, because it's kinda been haunting me. I didn't anti-air at all - I was like no way he'll jump AGAIN!

Play asia takes too long. I got my converter for three bucks on like DEALEXTREME.net or something. It still came from like hong kong or whatever but it only took maybe a week? Personally, no, I don't think someone is trying to make confessions of any kind of desire(s). Do I like to hear it? Sometimes very much so. Most of the time not, though. Here's the problem though. Why would it be different? Just like the straight community has some guys and gals with bi-tendencies, so does the gay community.

Now, had you posited whether the percentage of men who identify as homosexual and also occasionally have sex with women (bi-curiosity and not drunken shenanigans or whatever) was higher/lower/the same as the percentage of heterosexually-identified men who've had sex with other men, now that would be an acceptable question. But your question inherently implies that either you believe there is a difference between heteros and homos beyond who we like to use our genitals on, or the second interpretation, that homosexuality is a more transient/less substantial way of being and thus we are more likely to feel the need to test once in a while that we're still not straight.

Were either of these your intentions? Nope. But is that how it can come off without clarification? Yes.

And in all honesty, people responded politely because getting questioned on things we shouldn't really need to be questioned on happens more often than it should and most of the members on here who've been out for a few years or so have probably gotten pretty well-practiced in answering such questions.

In Marvel I still just play Psylocke/CapCom/Strider. Sometimes Sentinel and Akuma. I'm likely only passable at any of them now. It's a fun game to dick around on, but I don't think I'm up for the heavy practicing again.

And Blazblue has a weird hump to get over. The first couple weeks of the game, I really didn't get it. In truth, I'm only just understanding the game this week (I've been practicing). But I have some folks to play with offline, which helps a lot. Online matches against random players make me want to punch puppies and push nuns into traffic.

And one major thing I'm learning is that, everything I learned in Capcom games is of no fucking use in BB. Since I stopped trying to treat it like ST or 3s, and it's been going a lot better for me.

V-13 is annoying, but Hakumen takes the gold for most annoying online character. But you know what's fun? Pick Hakumen as well, and spam C the whole time. The people that do that will lose to it. It's pretty funny.

But yeah, the online section of fighters is a surefire way to start hating the game if you play that way too much. I already wasn't a big fan of SF4, but netplay is why I stopped for good. The only thing I like doing online for that one now is exclusively using throws. You get a shit ton of hate mail.

I don't find it an issue offline. But online will inevitably have lag, which makes certain moves too easy to abuse. C-spamming Hakumens aren't shit if you can block on reaction. And Noels mashing D are pretty easy to punish, but online it's a fucking headache.

I just got bb too, ill play you as soon as i get some of the concepts down a little. Right now I feel like I'm drowining in a Ocean. I need to at least learn to float or something. I think im going to just go online, not try to win or do anything special, just block, counter, and tech throws, figure out bursting. Hi, I'm gay and Christian, and so is the guy I date. We go to the same church regularly also. Does the church we attend necessarily approve of homosexuality? No. Will/would they condemn us for it if they knew? No. You see the problem with many Christians (and churches for that matter) is that they enjoy playing God. They cast away homosexuals from churches, condemn them, look down upon them, when the Bible tells us to love each other as our neighbor, and that he who has not sinned should throw the first stone (which, obviously, the only one who would fit that would be Jesus). It is God's role to judge, not ours.

No, my hubby and I do not ignore that part of the Bible. We aren't going to come up with some kind of theory that many years ago it was mysteriously added and that it was never there originally. Just because we wished it would go away, doesn't mean it will. However, we are strong in our faith. We live our life as any other heterosexual couple would. We have a Godly relationship and are both fully committed to one another. Yes it IS a sin. You know what else is a sin? Anger, judging others, taking God's name in vein, etc. etc. By Biblical law, ALL sins are of equal importance, except for the denial of the Holy Spirit. We ask God for the forgiveness of our sins frequently, and this covers Homosexuality.

The problem basically is that most Christians believe that homosexuality is some kind of 'greater sin' than any of the others, when in reality, it isn't. God knows this, I know this, and that's good enough for me.


P.S. No, I'm not an expert on Christianity or any religion for that matter, and I never claim to be. I went to a Christian High school and a Baptist University (only for one year) and Church my whole life so that's where I get my info. My roomie's cat is an indoor cat and alllllll the fleas are in my room (of fucking course) where the cat does not go. I just wish they'd die. Insects are disgusting enough as it is, but ones that can jump like six feet? And are everywhere but I just can't see them 'til it's too late? Ugh, nasty little fuckers. Been reading up on them to try to defeat them and learning about them just makes me more disgusted. I haven't slept in my own bed in at least a week now, it's sad. I miss my bed and my xbox. Managed to hop on for a little while when I'm letting shit sink into my carpet before I vacuum... Anyway, I don't wanna think about it anymore. Gonna probably just bomb the whole house when I get back from my little vacation this weekend.

We went to the local trendy hip bowling alley and I swear to God, they were the worst lanes I've ever played on. No mechanic on duty so not only were the oils never retouched or properly laid to begin with, but if your ball got stuck they just move you to another lane. Wtf?

I couldn't break 100 in any of five games. It was horrible. The week after? We went to a regular alley and I threw a 163 out of the gate. Fucking vindication.

I need to join one of the local leagues and actually get good.

Even for those who might not want to do it purely because it's a gay league, all gay leagues/tournaments actually give away more money than straight leagues, hence the reason we have straight people bowling there, including pros. There's another tournament I'll probably go to in Seattle which I believe is in October.

Having your own bowling ball will increase your game tremendously. And yeah, trendy places have the worst lanes. eg. Lucky Strikes.

The lanes in question were the Canyon whatever lanes. Then we went to Hollywood bowl which is where PDX Pride Bowl hosts their leagues.

I used to have a ball and shit aaaages ago when I played in a kiddie league, I'm seriously considering getting back on that ish. I carry a 130 average on house junk playing no more than once a month so I think I could get to a 180 average with a few solid months of league play.

I want to go back to the time when my Family members would whisper to each other wondering if I was sick.

At evo I was 250 and still smaller than many many women here in ATL, so I am not just doing it to be womanly, I actually want to be small again, it is nice to shop in sections that are not "plus size"
