The last Gay thread "ask a gay guy" was closed. the one before that was the gay gamers thread both are gone.

So I'm opening this one. Just before we get started i just wanted to thank IWST99 for originally creating his thread but i think the purpose of his thread at least in his mind was realized about halfway through the thread.

The purpose of this one? Alot of people had questions that were silly and were answered in kind. which is absolutely fine.. others had questions and opinions that were a bit more involved. We all know the rules about religion so if were going to share our beliefs and opinions let's try to keep things respectful and intelligent if were gonna go there.

It's a discussion first and foremost so let's discuss.

The other day, I was hanging out with some friends who know nothing of me not being hetero, and we were trying to see if someone we knew remembered our friend's girlfriend... Anyway, I was describing her, and I remembered her recently talking about getting her hair foiled, so I used the word (foiled) after my other friend said she had brownish hair... and then she laughed at me (a lot) and said she had to point out how gay it was that I used the word foiled... She was like "Hahaha, I'm sorry, but someone has to say it, that was so gay." and then I somehow managed to use it again, right after, and she proceeded to tell me that I was such a gay. :lol: Ahhh... I plan on telling her soon, but I can't really find a time to bring it up.

Nope. I consider it a weird invasion of privacy, I don't care who I'm attracted to. I won't lie, I've wanted to. Watching someone pee isn't exactly something I have the hots for, though. The only time I've ever really given someone the double take is in the locker room, but shit... people in the locker room just walk around naked and flaunt it like they want you to see it... too bad most the guys there aren't something I want to look at. :lol: I tend to look at it from the straight guy perspective though, and avoid it just so people don't get creeped out and offended.

No... I look people in the eyes when I shake their hands. Handshakes are pretty weird times to try to glance there... usually people notice where your eyes are pointed. I think so. I've figured out how to brake (two-foot!) so that my car won't die when it's idle... I seriously have to pretend like the RPM tachometer is it's life bar... if it gets below like... 1,000, the car shuts off. I'm not sure what you guys think the reason I closed it is. It has nothing to do with the last post there.

I like how everybody takes it personally or assumes they know the reason I closed it.

If you guys want a gay hang out thread, then by all means make this it. The other thread lost its purpose after the first 300 posts...seriously. I wanted to close it after the first week it was active, since I knew it was no longer going to be what I meant for it to be.

I'm glad it achieved what it did and helped other gay SRK members come out or become comfortable with themselves. But see, now you all have a thread you agreed on and can decided what it's meant for. It's the gay guy's thread for good now. The reason my thread turned into what it did is purely my fault.

In any case, I seriously give a flying fuck what others think I am trying to achieve or if I'm being selfish. Even the gay guys are pissed at me. There's only one person that seems to actually understand what I was trying to accomplish and how although I achieved it at first, in the end it wasn't what it was meant for at all. I hope this thread succeeds and brings happiness and rainbows to all.

i see what catch afire is saying.. after a while it really did kinda become less about ask iwst a question and more about let's just talk and answer questions when asked.. which i thought was a good thing .. I pm'ed all the gay gamers about opening up a new thread after the last one closed and in that pm i too noted that we were doing alot of good if not for just opening a dialogue with people who would feel otherwise uncomfortable establishing a dialogues with.

People feel strongly about this issue mainly because we don't fully understand eachothers veiwpoint so i actually enjoyed the discussions we had where people who had staunch positions against us were able to talk intelligently and express themselves.. i've always said there's nothing wrong with sharing your beliefs with others. If both parties can keep an open mind both could learn something.

I consider iwst a friend and not shitting on him with this thread but I guess maybe he got tired of the thread veering so far from his vision? i don't know.
but I don't want people to belive as IWST said this is just our gay space on SRK I'm sure you guy's have seen us post all over the place in various threads it's just not every thread is apropriate to talk about looking at penis :sweat: and so on.

They were closed however (one was partly due to me and the 'Scoot' nonsense and I think the other just died). Once they closed, most of the gay started posting over on Gamingforce. I had made a gay thread over there where there is a large gay population. It was good for a moment. But GTC and Drumliner Joe who migrated over from SRK, hated me for a fight we had on the dying gay thread on SRK (I can't remember what about). Added to the fact that alot of the posters on Gamingforce were weird 15 year olds crying about stuff, it just didn't work.

I didn't hardly pay any attention to the 'Ask a gay thread' however because it was bound to be filled with 'Do you cum funny colors' type of questions. Sure enough..

And sorry to ruin your hopes and dreams GTC, but the whole Scoot debacle was 100% real. I couldn't make shit like that up. I might as well tell the story for the uninformed:

I talked to Scoot (real name Scott. I was 18, he was 16) online for the longest time back in 2001. Overtime, we exchanged numbers and we talked almost every night for about a month. I think I mentioned SRK a few times talking to him. He registered here, posted in the gay thread and for awhile things were fine. Later on, he was having home issues and said that he wants to run away to LA. I said ok. So we both post our idea on the gay thread on SRK and of course was met with mixed reaction. But mostly, we were met with 'good luck..hope things work out for you two.' I asked my friend Jose to pick Scott up and drop us in downtown LA. We slept on a bench....or attempted to. It was freezing that night. The next day, we went to a library and posted our status on SRK..again with mixed reaction. Nonetheless, we ran around LA without a care in the world. 4 days later, we were caught riding the subway without paying. We both got tickets but since he was also a minor, he was taken away. That was the last time I ever saw him.

Meanwhile, I hadn't had a good sleep in 4 days so I was comptely out of it. I remember sitting at Hollywood and Highland for what I thought was 20 minutes ended up being 3 hours. I walked to a coffee shop and slept. At around 2 that morning, I was walking down Hollywood Blvd groggy as hell when the police stopped me. They asked me where I was going and I couldn't form a sentence. (Btw..Hollywood PD know every homeless person). So they took me to the police station, and called my grandmother. She had put a missing person report on me. I talked to her and said that I wanted to come home. My aunt came, drove me to Union Station, and the next day, I was on the train back home.

My grandmother told me that she had spoken with Scott's mom (I wrote Scott a letter, his mom went through his things and found it, read it, realized that her son is gay, got mad, and filed a missing person report herself). My grandmother told me that Scott's mom was crazy and didn't take what she said too seriously but told of course to never talk to him again. DONE.

THEN..he remembered that he was registered here. I broke up with him online for basically not wanting to deal with the mess that was resulting of dating a 16 year old.

After that, every single level of hell opened up.

He cussed me out..or tried to at least. His parents put up some filter on his computer that blocked ALL LEVELS OF PROFANITY. So whenever I posted, he would basically reply, 'F*ck you Brandon!!! Zulu is a big f*cking d*ck!!!' This lead to some of the most painfully funny moments on SRK. He would make a thread making fun of me, it would get locked, a minute later, making another thread asking why my last thread got locked..and so on and so fourth. This went on for months. He got banned about 3 or 4 different times. It even ventured to Gamingforce where I still posted. It died off at the start of 2003.

But yeah...that was fun times.

So i've got the Texas Bear thing comming up and I have a few of my images that are gonna be showcased that's cool.. but i everytime i look back at my work i always wanna change something.. i always look and say hmm maybe i can change lighting here.. or accent there..
The local bear group here in nyc made a gallery of all my "bear" work and showcased it .. it was intresting but I didn't realize they were all going to be dancing in there also. so if you can imagine all my art was on the walls of the room and there was like dance party in the center of the room.

I didn't realize that was how it was gonna be at first so i was like :confused:
some of my pics was held up by duct tape and it got so hot in the dance party that the glue on the duct tape started melting and a few of my peices fell lol.

All in all it was a good expeirence cause when i saw all my art work up there i got so nervous.. but i got through it.

First off .. not all flamers are actually gay. Mind boggling i know but it's true.

Most times they don't even know they are flaming.I know a guy who every body calls a flame and i asked him one day about it .. why does he .. well flame? He had no idea that i was even talking about him.

Other than that you have to remember that comming out experiences are different for everyone sometimes you are left with nobody but females in your support group It's a safe assumption that a person that experienced this may feel most comfortable in a gay persona that is more female.

All of this is just a guess. Personally i don't mind a flamer theres a guy that goes to CF that is a bit of a flame and I see him there every so often. Good lookin guy but snazzy dresser. I don't mind flamers as long as it doesnt hide who you are. GTC answered this mostly. I just want to add that the 'flamers' aren't nearly the majority of gay men. They are just the ones who are quite obvious about it all so when you see them you know (or at least have a pretty damned good idea) that they are gay. If you saw a 'normal' guy you obviously assume heterosexuality. This is where you have erred. I guarantee you have seen a hell of a lot more "normal" gay men than you have flamers, the difference is that you just didn't know that those guys were gay, where as you did with the flamers.

As for me, I don't have a problem with the flamers, generically speaking (I think people should be themselves regardless), but I wouldn't date one as that personality type doesn't mesh with my own.

Indeed. And some of them definitely are being fake. But we have to realize some are not. The problem of course is how do I know they are being fake? All I can do is accept that this is who they are for now and look past it.

Also, pretending to be something a person isn't is also a way of being themselves. For if you (the general you not the literal you) are a person who is fake and lives your life based on others then that is who you are. Well we were watching a movie and did most of the talking before and after. And yeah there's gonna be a second date to see if there really is chemistry or not. If not then I think at least there should be a decent lay out of it. At this point I'm good with either scenario.

And I played the SA folks this weekend at Marvel. I hadn't had time to just waste a night away with gaming and I'm happy to say I still haven't lost my edge. Though everyone else is getting better and I can't tear though them like I used to.

I need to get more practice in with my makoto at cf .. i havent had anytime to do anything. Hey joe i'm in dallas this thursday to sunday. But i hear the weather there is gonna be crummy all weekend. :sad: I gotta try to find where the locals play in dallas. Last time i was out there i went to some arcade in some mall and destroyed people in third strike but even killed it in MARVEL!!! and that's not even my game i've got a pretty basic.. eh.. well i guess the only thing i have in marvel is I know how to do cool tricks.. but i cant fight in marvel for shit. By cool tricks i mean I can do like combo continuations from the floor and shit like cap com's and cammy's like i can do a cool tron/sentinal trap that works well...

and i can play mvc2 with one hand behind my back for when i want to win a bet. But i can only play one handed on a standard cabinet and i have to be using Juggernaught/tron/cable. But i only do that when i want to show off.

other than that i suck i need help in marvel desperately.. maybe i should pay some pro like 300 for lessons or something.

Seriously. So many of them, in fact, that I can't help but feel everything inside me go 'irk' when people tell me they're Christian. I'm just like "Ugh, great, this probably means I shouldn't talk to you to save myself the effort." I know I shouldn't think like that, but I can't help it. Definitely man. One the whole it's been mostly a good experience. There's the folks who are gonna talk shit, others won't be comfortable around you, others won't care. It all happens but hey, just gotta move on you know.

And yeah that's usually the excuse, folks don't try hard enough. And alot of these little Christian programs where they can convert someone like to toute big conversion numbers and all that, but they never say anything about retention rates, know what I mean.

...If we're in the heat of the moment, and that's a problem, we could just continue in the shower. To clarify, lightning storm is correct: it usually does not get to a point where it really smells, but if it did, I wouldn't hesitate to take it to the shower.

Mechanica: A similar thing happened to me. The guy that outed me in high school was close friends with someone everyone used to refer to as the "jesus-kid," who was at the time a friend of mine.once he got word, he actually pulled me out of class and gave me a lecture (which quickly became an argument) that lasted somewhere around an hour and a half. The funny thing was that his intention was to see whether or not the music I listen to had any influence in it (IE he thought black and death metal made me gay).

Oh, nah there isn't really a point through going through this again, but I think it is mostly because I've been reported, though when I am it seems like only I get recognized for an offense. Azagoth, really, religious arguments are as good as it get's for morality. Otherwise my last argument in the other thread wasn't necessarily religious at all. Really I'm kind of just defending and explaining things more than anything, seems a lot of people here do not understand the reasons behind a lot of these religious arguments and simply shrug them off and then claim theists are clsoe minded.

GTC, I'm not really 'pissed' at anyone, but I've always argued subjective morality is entirely pointless, so subjective positions on whether you yourself are a bad guy don't really mean anything simply coming from either of us, but since it goes religious I can't afford to be reported again. Honestly, I am not thinking I am smarter than anyone else when I argue for religious discussion, it's a must in explaining opinions or positions on a lot of things.

Based on my influences up to that point, I chose to become agnostic. I am in a state of uncertainty: where we all start. I choose to stay there because it keeps me open-minded. If you have come to sway my view, then come back with a very long, detailed explanation. Forgive me for any disrespect I may have shown; I have a predisposition of disdain towards Christianity and some of it's followers, and it's not hard to see why. Yeah, not to generalize, but I've noticed that I've never seen a religion that is as expected-to-be-everywhere as Christianity is. Seriously, it's all good that you believe in that but it doesn't mean everyone else has to. You can't just believe one thing and completely dismiss everything else (well, people have proven that you can, but you get what I mean).

Guys. I've always been painfully observant of the differences in the ways guys and girls think after having, at different points in my life, friends from all one gender for the most part. I had a lot (a lot) of female friends in high school, which was actually before I really acknowledged that I was attracted to guys at all... funny thing is I always found out later that like... 75% of them had a thing for me. Hahaha, it was a nice change from middle school where I mostly had awful self esteem. :lol:

Anyway, I view a lot of relationships from people I know as a 3rd party, and just watching the ways guys and girls bond, and again, their different ways of thinking kinda helped me realize that a relationship with a guy wasn't as weird as I thought it was. At first, I really just had kind of a sexual attraction to some guys, and what I thought was whatever else to girls, but there's this certain level of chill factor I've found being with a guy that isn't as easily obtained in a man/woman relationship. It's hard to explain, but it's really refreshing to me. It's cool finding a guy, that doesn't act like a girl, that is genuine and genuinely into you(/vice versa). I don't feel like I'm explaining it as well as I could, but all that matter is I like it. :tup:

1) You cannot explain the reasons behind your morality, therefore the reasons why something is moral or immoral is not really explainable, just an opinion based upon your own mind and nothing else. Although your morality is based off of perhaps your parents and perhaps they have reasons behind things being moral the simple fact that you have them does not mean they are explanable, and that is what I meant by you not having reason behind it.

I personally think it's lame that people need some figure to potentially be watching at all times in order to uphold their morality. I'm not trying to say everyone is using religion as a crutch, but it reminds me of a classroom full of schoolkids... well behaved and working on their assignments or at least slightly pretending to - until the teacher leaves the classroom to go copy some papers for 10 minutes. The only person I need questioning my morality is myself. If someone else doesn't believe me or something, I couldn't care less. As a general rule, I don't do anything to other people I wouldn't want done to me (heh), out of courtesy and hope that they will do the same in return. It's really quite simple. I don't need anyone to look over my shoulder to tell me if what I'm doing is right.

I really don't want to perpetuate a lot of religion-based discussion, but have you guys heard of Ignosticism (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ignosticism)? I hadn't really known anything about it until recently, but I actually really like the ideals behind it.

More than when the day started? For sure. But let's talk facts here. Every exposed part of the human body is considerably more "dirty" and bacterially covered than the non exposed parts. Yes that means your arms, face, and hands (especially your hands) are considerably more "dirty" than the other parts of your body considered to be so, like genitalia and feet. In fact the human mouth has more bacteria than genitalia. The two dirtiest part of a human are actually the mouth and hands. Which of those is dirtier on average is debatable. And no, not even the ass is as dirty as the mouth. The ass just has the unfortunate distinction of what bacteria does exist there smells awful and leads us to believe it is the worst part of the body.

So discussing oral sex... Kissing your partner after a long day is FAR worse than giving them head after a long day. In fact I'd go so far as to say kissing your partner one hour after they brushed their teeth is worse than giving them head two days after their last shower. So your genitalia isn't dirty until someone goes and puts their nasty-ass mouth there.
