NEWSFLASH-----synths are instruments.
When I think of a live performance, I think of people playing instruments in order to create music and not just purely synths or whatever they use.
Synthesizers, Keyboards, Mixers, computers, and turntables are all instruments used to create and alter music. Sure, It's not your traditional drummer-guitar and bass player setup but it still sounds good.

Feel me in on this, youtube stuff I just checked look like just some random club and not a live performance of a touring band.
They do the DJing, have lots of effects, every one is dancing, glow sticks and such are fun to watch, they do some things live (such as guitar) and the main attraction for Daft Punk is that they HEAVILY mix their songs together. They get like 5 songs going at once and even if it's one of the songs that you HATE on the album, once you hear it you're amazed
It's a club feel for sure, but they pretty much NEVER tour/play live (they wear the robot suits so people don't know who they are), making it that much better

Might try to hit them up in Montreal. I heard the Coachella show was unbelievable. After hearing that I wanted to see how they matched up to the greatest live act of all time: The Flaming Lips. If Daft Punk even comes close to matching the sheer power of the Lips live I will be thoroughly impressed. If you EVER have a chance to see The Flaming Lips live, do not pass it up, you'll regret it the rest of your life.

Song recommendations:
Aerodynamic [Daft Punk Extended Mix] off of the Remixes vinyl
Aerodynamic off of Digital Love or Discovery (but Digital Love is +20sec which is nice)
Digital Love
Face to Face off of the Face to Face vinyl or Discovery
Haster, Better
Music Sounds Better With You off of that EP by Daft Punk/Stardust
One More Time
Something About Us either off of Daft Club or the EPs
Too Long [Gonzales Version] off of Daft Club
Skip Human After All and every EP, and if you "accidentally" buy "Human After All Remixes", you can join me in the That Was Stupid club. But the little Daft Punk Kubricks are cool. If people want I'll put up pics of them.

There is a good chance I'm going to try and catch them in either Denver or NY if these are the only dates. It will cost out the ass but its gonna be my only chance to see them possibly ever.
Holy mother of Peter I just looked at the lineup for coachella 2006. In retrospect I would have easily paid 1000 bucks to attend that festival as a once in lifetime chance. Kanye West, Common, Franz Ferdinand, DEPECHE MODE, DAFT PUNK just on friday. Unreal. AND TOOL.

Probably should check but:
* buy the kubes (http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?PID=7041697&style=music&frm=frooglemusic) (probably, should check each listing)
* buy the Babekubs/Kubricks (http://froogle.google.com/froogle?q=daft+punk+kubrick&btnG=Search)
There was also the RAH versions.... this (http://images.google.com/images?q=daft+punk+figure&btnG=Search&sa=N&tab=fi) shows every version of the RAH toys that I know of + the bendies. This (http://zachd.com/kubricks/daft%20punk.jpg) is a pic of the Daft Punk Kubs (what I have). Not reallllly exciting, but still kinda cool hanging out on my CD rack.

Well, have you ever been to a club? Wasn't there an MTV show at one point that had some dude named DJ Skribble and they would "perform" as DJ's? You do realize that a performance without instruments and voice could actually be more unique and creative than those with, right? Or would you rather just completely deny the existence of such an even occurring?

Saw it in L.A. Was the most awesome concert experience of my life. Great music, great vibe on the floor, unmatched visuals, over the top encore. More of a let loose and dance club feel than a concert, which I would prefer any day than just standing and watching a 'band' play.

What exactly is the kind of music that Daft Punk is classified as? I'm hella interested in this genre whatever it is, the vocals albeit simple and distorted strike a huge cord with me.
