View Full Version : Movie Soundtracks that don't have songs from the movie

Son of a BITCH, I hate movie soundtracks that have different versions of songs than the ones that were played in their movies. Or in some cases don't have certain songs at all.

I tracked down the Ong Bak soundtrack, as I only wanted 2 songs from it. But they aren't instrumental like they were in the movie. They've been bastardized with lyrics. =(

Am I the only person interested in movie soundtracks because I want to hear music the way it was in the movie? Or do people actually get movie soundtracks cuz they want different versions of the songs? Versions they've likely never even heard. =\

Yeah, OSTs usually have random shit put into it. Also they like to not have certain pieces of music in them. -.-

Yep. I downloaded the guitar instrumental from the final fight in Snatch (Oasis does it) and it's spammed up with some old dude saying "Kids running around naked, fucking in the bushes" over and fucking over again. Apparently, those are "cool" lyrics when in reality, it just gays up a good tune. Not cool.

Once agian, one of the reasons God created the internet was to steal all the music you want.

I have been pissed in the past when I would purchase a movie soundtrack and you recognize nothing from the film. Back when I was a teenager I hated spending hard-earned money on this shit.

Now I just look for the exact songs from these movies and steal them without even thinking about it.

Look for "scores" instead of "soundtracks."

Soundtrack and Original Score are not the same thing. You were probably looking for the original score.

ninjedit: damn, specs beat me to it.

CrouchingTiger

So I'm looking for the score? That's gonna suck, cuz it was hard enough finding the OST to begin with. Wikipedia even says the movie was rescored twice, for a total of three different versions of scores. I've checked the torrents, p2p, and usenet and as I said could barely find the OST in the first place. Methinks the score doesn't exist. =(

Spirit: Stallion Of The Cimmaron. The movie has a version of "Here I Am" that's NOT on the soundtrack from the scene where Spirit is born. It starts

Here I am, this is me. I come into this world so wild and free
Here I am, so young and strong, right here in the place where I belong

It's just youthful and light-hearted, yet strong like music for a carefree colt would be. The version you get on the soundtrack is some lame-ass piano-powered love song (and it's way too heavy on percussion) that starts

Here I am, this is me, there's nowhere else on earth I'd rather be
Here I am, it's just me and you, tonight we'll make our dreams come true

I bought the soundtrack JUST for that 1 song...and it's not even fuckin' on there.

They should all be done like the RE soundtrack, throw some songs in there to boost your sales, but give me the unblemished score tracks.

I second that.

The only soundtrack that pissed me off was the Sin City one. I downloaded it just to heard the song that was in the trailer, only to hear that there were lyrics in the song. Now, I could have gotten over that but, they lyrics were complete shit and that ruined everything for me.

Kind of like how The Wedding Singer has about 3 albums, when there was only like 10 songs in the movie (then again, each album sounds more like some random 80's collection). :looney:

Granted that I do like the Transformer Movie OST. I got it for one specific song that's not on it. I don't even know what the name of the song is, because everything that's listed in the credits is listed on the OST. All except the song that I'm fucking looking for!!! There was also a song from "The Black Mask" that I liked. The song is on there allright. But there is some sorry ass lyrics on their with it. Why can't I just have the fucken music!!!

South Park: Bigger, Longer, And Uncut had a song called Little Boy You're Going To Hell. It played when Kenny, well...... went to Hell. However, it was absent from the soundtrack!

What the hell, man?!

Third Strike. Some of the same songs are there, but some have been changed. Like for Yun and Yang's stage, they take the good part out and put some lame pansy-ass flute in place of it. It's supposed to be 007, and when the fuck has Bond had a fucking flute as the main instrument in his theme music?

Lost Song from the first Halo wasn't on the soundtrack. Thank God Bungie realized and put it up for download.

Fifth Element. The song playing during the cab chase wasn't there, and that's really the whole freakin reason that I even downloaded it.

Apparently, I have to blow 25 bucks plus shipping and handling just for a BOOTLEG version of the soundtrack of Legend, just for the song "My True Love's Eyes" that Mia farrow sings in the UK version of the film.

I'm confused, the part you mentioned the audio sounds like Autobots vs Decepticons, which is on the original soundtrack.

On my DVD (20th Anniversary Edition), from 11:57 it hits "Autobots vs Decepticons" then at 16:16 it then changes to "City Under Siege" which is on the score. That lasts until 19:25 in which it turns to "The Touch" by Stan Bush.

I'm guessing "City Under Siege" is what I'm looking for. I used that big time frame because it's all kind of mixed together and I can't tell where AvsD changes to CUS. But you can damn sure tell when the touch kicks in. How did you get a hold of the score?

You know, it's messed up that I didn't even notice that Unicron's theme was missing considering that it's one of the baddest theme songs on there. And now for some useless infromation. Did any of you know that the same guy that did the OST for the Transformers movie also did the Rocky IV OST?

um, errm, wonder if you're familiar with scores as well. don't know if someone has mentioned it but check it out. It's an addition to the soundtrack. Your beating yourself up for no reason; you fireballed your ass:wonder: anyhow, I'll give you an example (highlander and the crow) both have soundtracks & scores but are HELLA rare nowadays

Type in the name of an artist or song, and hit enter. If someone there has that song uploaded, you can click their link. that will take you to a page where you can hear the song. Below the built-in player, on the far left side there is usually a button that says Download. Click that to download the song. Easy.

Not a movie, but an anime:

I remember Wolf's Rain had a version of shiro(?) (I forget the exact name of the song). It played when that white wolf dude was fighting some kind of tank? I dunno, the song they played when he fought it, I actually enjoyed it.

I was all wet when the OST came out, only to find out it had like the "original" and slow version of the song. Once I found out there was a 2nd OST, I downloaded all the songs only to find out they made ANOTHER version of that song, which sucked as well :annoy:

FUCK THIS SHIT!! GAHHHHH!!! :wasted: :annoy:
