Hellraiser: still scares the juice out of me.

Everyone talks about silent hill, hills have eyes, etc, but when it comes down to it for me, I still get more nightmares off of the original hellraiser films. Clive Barker really shows his twisted mind in this movie more than all others he has brought to theaters. Who can't remember the infamous pinhead.. For an old 80's flick, the gore was realistic more than present day horror films, and it really kept you on your toes during the whole movie.
Just wondering, am I the only person still watching this film and liking it over all the new horror flicks?
It's kinda of a wonder to me, where as a whole we can remember more about the Halloween series, but not a lot of people seen a good movie like hellraiser. o_O

It seems like all the other hellraiser movies after 1 and 2 were horrible. Hell on Earth was somewhat enjoyable, and bloodline stuck to the gorey side, just didnt seem to get into that one much.

Hellraiser 1 and 2 are amongst my favorite horror movies. I was a young teen when I saw them though. The later ones are still watchable in my eyes, and the meat hooks attacking from off screen makes everything better.

Stephen King's IT came on tv when I was 7 or 8 and I should not have watched that movie. I didn't sleep for nights because of that movie.

I was on a huge Hellraiser kick a couple years back, and bought the Clive Barker Novella "The Hellbound Heart", which was the basis of Hellraiser.

pretty good stuff, but more or less the same story as the movie (it goes into more detail about certain things, but nothing too different).

Hellraiser 2 doesnt hold up that great, it has a lot of 80s cheese, the matress scene is still gold though.

It seems like all the other hellraiser movies after 1 and 2 were horrible. Hell on Earth was somewhat enjoyable, and bloodline stuck to the gorey side, just didnt seem to get into that one much.

I like how the storyline continues from 1 to 2..................but all the other movies afterwards just detracts away from how 1 and 2 was made, they suck serious sand.

Although Bloodline shows how the box originated, this was only thing good about the movie.....imo.

There was another one that really did a number on me. . .Puppet Masters? I don't think that's it. Anyway, the movie where all the dolls and clowns and shit were coming to life (maybe it was 2 seperate movies, one for clowns and one for dolls).

That movie caused me to bury my Pee-Wee doll deep in my closet so he couldn't escape.
