Calling all Californians who have done... juvenile hall time

So the update to my story is I got 60 days of juvenile hall, right after my college semester ends on may 25th.. it kinda sucks cuz I might be in past my 19th birthday, also if I do all those 60 days, after my birthday, I will have to be transferred to a county jail... pretty lame, oh well.


My question is... do you do all your time at juvenile hall? Anyone ever had it so crowded they left early? Will good behaviour get me out earlier? Thanks in advance.

i was in juvie for like 8 hours. i remember showing up, changing into a maroon shirt and khaki shorts, eating some meatloaf, meeting the guy in charge, doing pe, eating some peanut butter crackers, getting a mattress to sleep on the floor, and waking up at 2am because my parents were there to pick me up. it was a fun experience but the car ride home was even better!

i was in for 2 days for assault with a deadly weapon. they put me in with a black guy then i see those guards grinning as they walk away. the black guy was very big. he ended up abusing me and almost butt rape me. we had a toilet in our room and when he took a dump it smelled like a gas chamber. thankfully i complained and they transfer me to another room. eating lunch was stupid. they told me not to look around. don't know why. showers was gay too. i knew shit was gonna happen in the corner that's why i showered butt naked near a security guard. i guess that's all i have to say.

Dude juvie is not so bad. 60 days kinda sucks, but it's like a shitty summer camp with thicker walls, bigger doors, and you can't leave. The places are set up to still teach kids while they are in "jail." So they have fake courses and shit, and you do a lot of PE stuff, and then just kinda chill there.

I don't know why you would be sent one place and then transferred, that seems like a lot of extra work for them. Also you should know if you would be past your 19th birthday. You know about when you start and how long it is, do the math. I really doubt they would transfer you for just a few days at the end of your term, but if it's a few weeks left then they might have to follow the rules.

Well from an officer's point of view, juvi is worse than prison. For one the officers in most cases can not harm and/or defend themselves. In VA they can keep them in juvi until they are 21. Which Is why i would never work in one because Ill be damned if I let a grown ass man whoop my ass. And because of that fact, a lot of the kids wild the fuck out because they know they cant get touched. A lot of feces and piss throwing goes on. I cant work in a juvi institution because Ill fuck a kid up.

it was when i had just turned 16. . so almost 3 years ago

possession of two controlled substances (prescriptions.. so those were felonies.. knocked down to misdemeanors), possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of stolen goods, drunk in public, breaking curfew, breaking and entering, assault, etc.. just a bunch of small stuff after that..

basically all of that happened in one fucked up night's work.. my ex drug user buddy (actually he was a genuine kid that i corrupted thru my stupidity) and i were wandering the streets of Coto De Caza.. any of you so cal residents might know this place.. it is basically so cal's utopiatic gated community, real rich kept up area.. anyways, we ended up at 4 in the morning "breaking" into unlocked cars in a senior citizens parking lot.. we didn't know it was a senior citizens parking lot at the time.. so that fact really fucked me over in court, it looked back...

so basically i didn't know i got charged with any of this until i almost turned 18.. they either never sent court documentation out, or my mother never told me about it... i should have waited past 18 and let it blow over.. people have told me they probably wouldn't have done shit. oh well =)
