What are some good first date ideas, or some memorable first dates you've all been on/orchestrated?

I hate going to movies with girls, because it just ends up as like two hours of us sitting next to each other, completely silent, and watching the movie. Even worse if the movie's actually good, because then you're too engrossed in it all and you almost forget there's someone else there with you.

It fuels some conversation if you have dinner afterwards, but I'd much rather just invite her over or go to her place and pop in an old DVD or something. Bonus points if it's a bad movie, because then you can just spend all your time trashing it MST3000 style, and exhibit your fantastic wit and/or pop culture mastery. Or if she hasn't seen one of your favourite movies, then you can call her a philistine and force her to watch Shawshank or Field of Dreams or some shit.

But that's all I got. Dinner and drinks, and possibly a movie. Is there any other acceptable course of action for a first date, or is it one of those things where you should just absolutely not over think it, and go with the standard? Especially for a girl that you didn't know beforehand as a friend first, and you're just going into it cold with an essential stranger?

For first dates, I'd say eat together first if you both are hungry. Do fun things that involve cooperation. Do something like bowling or watch a TV show. If you're going out with a total stranger and don't know what they like, chances are you just want to tap that. Talk with her and get to know her and then from there you can figure out what will be fun to do together.

Alright guys, I have a little problem. See I sell cloths and keychains on eBay, hence there are frequent trips to the post office.

Well there is this really cute girl that works there. Everytime I go in there she strikes up a conversation with me and is curious as to what I sell and what not.
So yesterday I go in there and she's like "So I tried finding on eBay, but I couldn't". I told her it's because of the way I probably spell my name and what not.

Anyways, that was the end of that and she took my packages and I went to work, since there was a giant line behind me and she had to help other customers.

So, I go to work(we both work in the same mall by the way), and long and behold she comes into the store I work at and she starts shopping. She's ready to check out when I get called up front. I say hi to her again and she sees me and she quickly leaves her stuff on the counter and says she'll be back, almost as if she's embarassed or something...

So I'm back down my aisle working and what not, and she comes down my aisle and asks me for the time. I tell her what time it is and ask her if she's done work. She says she's on break right now and her break is almost done. Me being a complete fool, I pretty much stop the conversation right there and that's that and leave her alone.

So I'm really not sure how to approach this. Should I ask her if she wants to take a break or something or go for a coffee or ask for MSN contact so I can "show" her what I sell since she was so curious.

I was thinking of giving her a keychain for Christmas as a gift(since she's always curious about those), but I'm not sure if that's a good idea.

If you live in a great city like SF, go to something cool that she might not have done herself. For example, take her to the Palace of Fine Arts or something, or out to the ocean. (If she isn't from the city)

I would say go with the idea. It seems she is casually bumping into you but too shy to say anything. Notice her body language next time she's around. It will help you get a better feel for what's in her mind. Also, observe what she's looking at and strike up a good conversation including what she is looking at (EX: She likes Naruto, talk about Naruto or ask her what she likes about it) Then ask her for coffee or something, if she doesn't like coffee offer her a cookie or smoothie (Personally I know most of us girls love 1 or the other). Women are attracted to men of power/influence. Looks don't weigh as heavily when a woman decides if a man is attractive or not. It's natural for this to seem foreign since guys tend to want their woman to need them, and powerful women tend to be less attractive to men, but that's just how it is. So tonight I practiced what I learned and accumulated 2 numbers from girls that are well above 7's. One girl had a boyfriend, though she kept following me around the bar. So she stops like in front of me and the guy is still hassl'n her, so she ignors him and gives me this outright weird signal, i lean towards her like "what?" Then she says " Do you want my number?" I was shocked like "uhh yea?:wonder:" so she starts tell'n me her number and the guy walks away.

There i am crack'n up on the inside feel'n all pimp like "holy shit i didnt have to do anything!"
