Do something about it then. Venting about being insecure won't get rid of your problem. Take a hobbie, read more, work out or do whatever that will make you more attractive. I didn't have a gf until I was 21 either, and I assure you it is NOT that big of a deal. I don't regret anything about it but I can tell you I would've been fine either way (with or without). I think it's only a big deal in our heads, especially when we're younger (less mature, etc).

I agree with VRViper btw. I personally recommend you pick up dancing that involves partners. It will give you a huge confidence boost, at least it did for me. I used to be pretty "shy" around girls and strangers in general, but with dancing you pretty much have to overcome that (if you want to dance with people other than your friends, which WILL happen).
