The allure of the SRK Intro Thread has grown into some ridiculous event that it never was at any point in the past. This isn't some cool club with it's own customs and rituals. It's just a message board. There is no new member hazing on SRK. There never was an initiation process.
Because that requires us to care about new members or even remember their names, of which we obviously do not. If someone called you a douchebag when you first joined up, it wasn't some homoerotic boardwide bonding ritual - it was because you really were a douchebag and someone labelled you appropriately.
What USED TO HAPPEN was standard internet message board baiting. Someone would put a worm on a hook, cast out the line, and see if the new fish took the bait. And if so...well then REEL 'EM IN. And fun for all.
You're just throwing worms at him now. None of this makes any sense.
There's absolutely no point to this ridiculous circle jerk you're all doing, because you only go on if you caught something. And you obviously didn't bait him, he's not even reading the posts anymore. During my time at SRK, there was only one person I can recall that made an intro thread and survived. Without a red bar, without changing his username and starting over. The only properly executed intro thread in 3 years.
