Well, it isn't a what's your favorite band/singer, but you can list them if you want. Also, list genre(s) you dislike.
Anyway, what genre of music do you favor or listen to mostly? I myslf listen to more than 1 genre, it depends to me... I sometimes like listening to a bit of mellowish music such as a couple of old-school Boys2men tracks, Mr. Bigs - Next to be with you, and some other slow love songs when i'm in the mood. I mostly listen to rock though, alternative rock that is... sometimes i'd go metal an pop a metallica or megadeath, go grungy with nirvana... shit like that.
So the two genres i listen to mostly are Rock an Rnb. But i selected roxk because it's what i listen to mostly.
Music i can't get into are: Mainstream Rap/HipHop, trance and techno...

Death/Prog Metal. Now and forever. Secondly, a fan of Freestlye rap. A good battle is just too good.
Genre(s) I can't stand :
Reggaeton
Pop
Emo
Indie
thesix had a good point that a good battle is great to watch, but a battle where some one just pulls out a Verbal rape on some one is the shit!!

Anything but country.

I can't choose. One week it might be hip-hop, the next week it might be rock, then it might be the oldies.
My least favorite is country. Black Betty, Cotton Eyed Joe, Devil went down to Georgia, and the 2 Soggy Bottom Boys tracks from Brother Where Art Thou constitute my entire country selection.
And if Metal is that stuff where they scream into the mic about killing people, I don't listen to that at all unless NIN qualifies (Which I doubt since Trent is musically talented).

Nothing really had the #1 position for me...I listen to a lot of genres fairly equally; rock, rap, ragtime/big-band stuff, classical, 70s/80s Funk, Doo Wop and old "Motown sound" things, and that "smooth and cool" stuff like what Dean Martin, Jerry Vale, Sinatra(I love "Chicago" and "Lady Luck"), and Nat King Cole do.... and electronica are all my favorites....the n there is jazz, and rarely; ska and whatever you'd call early 90s "dance pop".(heh, things that sound really gay, like "What is Love?!"or something from La Bouche, Cathy Dennis, or Crystal Waters. Yeah, -200 Man Points for me on that.) Actually, I'd rate the dance pop stuff from the 90s above ska. Oh, and also...I love songs from Louis Prima, but I'm not even sure what category he fits in. I just had the Mob Hits cds, and he was on there. I'll just call his songs "pure italian mob movie music" (or..."italian pop"?) for lack of a better term.
*ah! and then there's latin music as well. I had the Mambo Kings soundtrack many years ago, and I still love it.
There are really only 2 genres I rank very low, and tend not to like; country and hindi. Country at least has some saving grace, and can be rarely something nice and/or funny to listen to. I will admit that there are a few country songs that sound good to me, and I will always love the Dukes of Hazzard theme, Fall Guy, and BJ and the Bear themes....along with a hilarious comedy music album that none of you have ever heard of: Jimmy the Pervert.(I'll post a track from that soon, because it needs to be shared with the world. He was just a local memphis singer that put out an album...that's why I'm sure none of you have heard of him. His songs are some of the funniest shit I have ever heard in life.)
And then there is Hindi. This is the lowest of the low...the bottom of the barrel, the cream of the crap. It is not a matter of opinion here, folks. It is a fact that Hindi sucks. There is NO saving grace, NO "good" examples to dispute how terrible this entire category of so-called "music" is. If Hindi music were a person, I'd want to run over the bitch going full speed in my car, then back up over her just to be sure....then I'd throw her dead ass off a cliff, or preferrably into a vat of acid, just to be sure it doesn't somehow come back to contaminate the rest of the world with its horrible sound again.

I listen to everything because there is just too much good music out there to just stick with one genre. My library consists of mostly hip-hop, rock, and videogame music. Every morning I like to wake up with some 3rd Strike or Tekken music.

1.Euro Dance

what?! Eurodance?! low tier?! die!
:nunchuck:
I've always listened to some of everything really. If I like it I like it. In most of the 90's I was really into rap though. Now it just gets on my nerves. At first I thought rap was just starting to suck, but nowdays I think alot of it has to do with me growing up and simply realizing most of the things they talk about are just plain stupid. Although, maybe those two things are one in the same. If I listen to it now, it's all really old school stuff that first got me into it, like late 80's (LL Cool J, Dana Dane, Kool Moe Dee, Slick Rick, Kwame, Eric B & Rakim, etc.). In the late 90's I got into metal, but now I feel the same about it as I do rap. Early 2000's it was rock, and now I find myself listening to mostly classic rock and I think I'm more into it than I've ever been into any other music.

well i see metal but where's the EPIC VIKING WAR METAL?!
Amon Amarth?
And yeah, it's metal for me mainly. I'm the type where 90% of the CDs I buy are metal, whereas my digital (a.k.a. stolen) music is all over the place - Enya, techno, rock, Jpop, etc.
What can't I stand? I'll join the crowd and say country, also most adult - contemporary nonsense gets on my nerves. Finally, whatever genre Andrea Bocelli, Ill Divo, etc. fall into.
And if Metal is that stuff where they scream into the mic about killing people, I don't listen to that at all unless NIN qualifies (Which I doubt since Trent is musically talented).
btw million, couldn't agree with you more on hindi music, its as low as you can go.
