heh, yeah...it's really not good. I will never get why people put that show in anywhere near the same league as Family Guy, early-era Simpsons, or Venture Bros. At best, Futurama is *occasionally* "crack a smile" type funny....not "ohmygodI'mDYINGfromlaughingSOHORD" funny. I gave the show several chances time and time again....and it consistently failed to make me give a damn in any way, really. Still, things like Tom Goes to the Mayor(it has a dvd release now?! and Perfect Hair Forever are far worse.

While we're at it...American Dad was terrible as well....possibly a step below Futurama. Heh, wow that's bad there... Anyway, I just don't see how people have so much love for comedy shows that aren't successful at being funny. If it only makes you crack a smile or giggle every now and then....then it's not that good now, is it? It all just seems like an "Emperor's New Clothes" thing for me, that show. It's like...imagine an alternate reality where everyone was raving about movies like Glitter, and From Justin to Kelly....and they got Academy Awards and everything.....or an alternate reality where RTX Redrock and Bart Simpson vs. the Space Mutants were considered by critics and fans as being the greatest games of all time. It was funny to me because it was VHS quality and reminded me of all of the piss poor fan subs I watched back in the day, even the bottom of the screen was fuzzy. I'm pretty sick of "one good character" shows: ATHF has Master shake, but the fries is boring and the meatball is only good for Shake to beat up and what not. I understand that most shows need a "balancing/normal character" but for example in South Park, Stan is actually pretty funny. The characters aren't dynamic at all in ATHF, and I know it's only a 15 min show, but still... the shake is always a stupid asshole, the fries is always boring and logical, and the meatball is always a retard.
So, the episodes I like of that show I really like (the ones where Master Shake is owning/hustling) but the ones I hate, I hate almost as much as Squidbillies.

Also sick of "random" humor and intentionally shitty artwork shows: Squidbillies and 12 oz mouse aren't even funny on DRUGS. The animators don't even try, the writing sucks, why should I bother? I just think those shows in particular are a big insult to the intelligence of the adult swim fan.

Well written funny shows with a dynamic group of characters and good art CAN be made in a 15 minute format, proof of that is Harvey Birdman. Birdman and everybody else in the show all have archetypes, but they change on the situation. I never see that in ATHF, and the "random" shows never have any characters to develop anyway.

The best Carl involved episode (and one of the best in general) is the one where Frylock creates that super toilet and makes Carl use it. He then dies, and they rebuild his body with various things, including eyeballs. That had almost nothing to do with Shake.
