how to make dreamcast anolog to joystick conversion

Hi I am still looking for a way to make a regular arcade joystick work and wired into a dreamcast controller I could care less what brand I would need controller wise I already know how to hook up the regular buttons and D-pad and I seen a way to wire the L+R trigger's by soldering a wire to hed5 and hed6 can the same be done with hed1 through hed4 for the analog thumbstick and if so anything else needed I am building a dreamcast in a arcade machine and have everything done and figured out but the analog conversion I would like to use it also instead of just the D-pad.

any info on this conversion would help.
