ive only seen 3 of his films , sin city, derailed, and inside man.
But apart from sparse bits where he gets angry, most of his lines seem to be delivered kinda
similarly low tone , unemotioal tone for lack of better words.
Or is he a master of subtly delivering his performance thru body language , ie eyes.
Or am i just not watching his best works?
Thoughts?

I've only seen Sin City and Children of Men. He played the sniper assassin in The Bourne Identity, but I don't think he had more than one line in that movie.
So it's hard for me to say if that's just the roles he gets, or the way he acts. I like him nonetheless.
yea hes good at playing that dead faced sorta man
also everychick i know would smash
you should check him out in the movie Closer, that is a fucking trip...
im outi

I thought he did a good job in Sin City, especially playing off Brittany Murphy's overly shitty acting.

Clive Owen is Gawdlike!!!
Sin City, Closer, derailed, Inside Man, Children Of Men... all of the hook!!! ....and just recently I just watched The Crupier, where he plays a black jack dealer... really good movie too!

Clive Owen is the shit, best thing to come out of whatever country he originates from. I kind of see where you are coming from on him playing sort of subtle characters. I've seen a lot of his movies, he hasn't delivered a dud as far as I seen.
He was better than I expected in King Arthur but so was the whole movie. Closer is the greatest non-action/physical comdey romance killer ever. Great flick, I laughed so hard I cried. He shows a good range in it as well.

Speaking of Sin City, that one chick from Gilmore Girls acting is...well...whatever you would call it. I call it monotone. I call HER Robot. Cute nonetheless, don't get me wrong, but you could prolly tell if she was faking it were you to have the opportunity to do it with her. She'd prolly be like "Oh..." and "Wow..." and "Battery Low..." Hahaha! Robots...what adventures will they get into next!?
Back on point: Oh and I thought Clive did a good job in Sin City. That's the only movie I've seen him in...so he's aight in my book.

...
WTF...
i laughed after thinking about it for 2 mins though, but yea, i wouldn't care if she's faking it. Penis in vagina is penis in vagina.

Saw him in the The Hire shorts, I'll Sleep When I'm Dead, Bourne Identity, Sin City, Children of Men.. he kinda lacks range but I wouldn't call that bad or wooden acting.

That's the way I'd put it.....King Arthur wasn't a good movie but he delivered his stuff as well as that script would allow. He was really good in I'll Sleep When I'm Dead but that movie was kind of a snore.

I'm a big fan of Clive Owen. I was hoping he'd be the next Bond. But that was before Daniel Craig kicked all kinds of ass in Casino Royale.
Clive is still the shit though. I go see his movies on principal.

u both win thread:wonder:
just from watching any of these fine movies u can tell within the first sentence of him speaking that he nails down the quiet/unemotional but still strong willed voice undertone n acting PERFECTLY no one in recent memory can do a better job of sounding threatening with a low voice.
BTW i loved closer n i'm surprised the SRK community agrees with how toptier it was.
EDIT: For any of u who still wonder if he just acts that way naturally or if it's part of the role then this should clear it up n he's british

Clive Owen is awesome and probably my favourite actor. It's a shame that shitty band Panic at the Disco had to rip off some lines from the movie Closer to use in one of their songs.

He cusses like no one else out there. I actually feel like he's flinging dirt at people when he cusses.
