It's hard researching this.. I saw my half brother, who I had not seen for a while, and he mentioned that I was goign to be like him, unable to grow a beard. Shit scared me, cuz I want that five o'clock shadow.. Anyways, I'm white, so that should help (according to wiki, african americans, asians, and native americans will grow less).. Anyways, it's all there basically, but a couple patches.. It sucks, cuz it would inhibit a full beard, ya dig? Anyways, what is your guys situations? Also.. I couldn't find anything too specific on when that growth stops.. Kinda a shitty thread, I know, but I don't give a fuck. This is my beard at stake, and possibly yours too

I'm not sure if I follow what you are talking about here, but I think most people get the wrong impression of how thick their facial hair will grow in after only letting it grow out a little. Mine mostly grows thick on my chin, and the rest is a little patchy, but now that its grown out and evenly trimmed, it actually looks pretty nice. There are like 2 kind of weird spots, but not really noticeable.

I have the same issue. My facial hair grows in great around my chin and jawline, but not so much higher up on my cheeks. It's not that it just grows in slowly for me, but it just doesn't grow in at all. Fortunately, I've never really wanted to grow a full beard since I wouldn't really be able to.

I have an excellent beard. I don't get much in the way of 'stache hair.

I wish I had facial hair

I've been told that constantly shaving with a razor will make you grow a beard, I don't want to try it though because I'd look too young for my age

Don't worry puberty will come soon enough.

Mine grows in thick and dark on my chin and lighter and less thick on the sides. Debating right now if I should grow a beard.

I can't grow a mustache for shi', but I can grow a sideburn/beard combo no problem (what would that be called? Chin duster? Chin sweeper? I just call it an Honest Abe). People say shaving works which is kinda true. When I started shaving with an electric shaver, my shi' grew in faster. I'm guessing cuz you don't get down to the grain with electric shavers as compared to a blade, but like Reading Rainbow says: Don't take my word for it.

Nah, I don't mean i'm tryin to grow one.. I wantto though in the future.. i'm just saying there is two major places my hair has not come in.. above the cheek.. just like that other guy said. From what I've researched so far, I found that... facial hair is the last dealio to happen after puberty.. wiki says it comes in from 15-18.. but I read a lot of people have it growing in real slowly up until their 30's.. fuck, i don't wanna wait that long.. I wanna be a James Gandolfini.. Oh well. =P

LoL. Good one. Yo, be careful bout shavin' too high on your cheeks. My friend's cousin did that and now its like 5 o'clock shadow close to the bottom of his eyes. Like those wolf men brothers. Sure it works if your whole face is covered in fur, but if not, you better get that shi' Nair'ed.

I have a Leonidas going on right now. The only problem with my facial hair is that, I have random blonde/brownish/grayish hairs mixed in around my chin. I dont have any pics atm.

I'm still growing a moustache of epic proportions. I'll bump my thread on the topic once I get a pic.

I hate my facial hair. Seriously, I have to shave my chin all the time, cause the hairs that I grow there look like freakin pubes :(

G'yeah. Facial hair blows ass. My hair grows so thick and my skin is ultra sensitive so I get razor burn every time. I tried waxing my face once, but for some reason the hair stayed put.

Whats with you pussies, beards rule. I'm pretty sure its just a myth that shaving thickens your hairs. If it's going to grow, its going to grow, as far as I know.

Although, I think most people don't get it above their cheeks. I just get a couple hairs, and I shave them off. Looks weird if it goes that high if you ask me. Anyone ever done the burnstache? (side burns into mustache, nothing on chin) That one is too manly.

are you talking about the "Lemmy"? I started to get one, but you kinda need a super hero chin to pull it off successfully.

I try to always have that 5oclock shadow look. I've quit shaving with a razor, and just trim it once a week down to like a few milimeters. Basically I trim it down to what WOULD be 5oclock shadow on dark haired people, but since I'm blonde, my light colored facial hair doesn't start looking like a 5oclock shadow until a couple days after I trim it.

Oh, I do occasionally shave my neck and a bit of my cheeks with a razor though. So I have that "refined" 5oclock shadow that some people have.

I dislike facial hair. Mine grows so thick, so FAST, it is annoying. Shaving all of it is such a big "procedure" as well because its all so long.

I've got a few hairs on my chin too that are like insect hairs! They are so thick and hard, i have to pluck them. Shaver won't take them off.

Shaving with a razor (or anything) does not make hair grow. It does not make it grow back thicker. These are myths.

When you shave the facial hair, you cut it at an angle, exposing more surface area. When more surface area of the hair is exposed, it appears to grow back thicker/more. It doesn't, really. It has nothing to do with it.

Man up and shave that shit. Chances are you will actually look older. Keeping whiskers/peachfuzz on your face does not make you look older.

im having trouble in one asymmetrical spot
moustache is fine and goatee is fine but at the part where the moustache connects to the side/jawline
between that and the goatee hair wont grow

and it sucks
im hoping that razor shit works

How many Asians here are able to grow a decent mustache/beard?

My hair is sparse and then it just grows long. Looks ugly and embarassing.

I can get a full beard 3 in days, which sucks cause shaving is a waste of time.

I wear a goatee.

it took me 25 years to grow it (I tried once in college and met with dismal failure).

apparently, I incurred a favor from the god of hair, and was blessed with a righteous tuft of chin pubes.

I can't grow a fuckin' mustache to save my ass.

my little brother can grow a MONSTER set of muttonchops (http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q292/alvatron/DSCF0317.jpg), they make Wolverine weep like a sissy cunt.

I don't know what you are worried about. I BARELY grow any hair on my face. If I let it grow, I look like one of those mexican kids who are in the 5th grade trying to grow facial hair. I find that a lot of girls, who I have asked, said they like the smooth baby face. And it takes not even 5 minutes to shave. But I am blond so growing hair anywhere for me is out of the question. Not to mention I look like im in my late teens/early 20s when im shaven. Enjoy it, for real.

I can't really grow a good beard (at least since last time I tried), it turns out to be weird and kind of blonde... Like, I had a goatee thing for a bit a year ago but it wasn't too satisfactory. Hahaha yes, here's a picture, it's all stringy and blonde (http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/7577/lolgc6.jpg). I kept it way longer than I had planned to, because it bothered one of my friends so much. She shouldn't have told me how much it bothered her, because I definitely kept it for a while just for her.

I can, however, grow sideburns now, though. They ain't 'chops but they work.

well one side of my face didn't really start coming in until I was 18-19. However, since I've been trying to grow a good sized Van Dyke - I've learned that my hair won't grow past a certain height *2 inches is about the longest I've been able to grow it*. Bout to cut it off and start again this weekend *tear drop*
