IMO, if they can spare the time and money, they should do something.

If they can't...then oh well.

I believe Sirlin said that they simply don't have the space for more than one set of music, so no multiple versions. Given that, I think sticking with the CPS2 music would be most appropriate. Some people like the PC music, but, as I've said before, I think it sounds cheesy, and most casual fans, having never played the PC version and hence never having heard the music, are going to assume it was an honest, made-for-STHD attempt at updating the music, in which case it's going to seem laughable. At least by sticking with the CPS2 themes, people will understand that they've just decided to stick with what was in the original game. And personally I think the CPS2 versions are better than the PC ones anyway.

CPS2 is fine. Maybe with an option for CPS1 if it's possible. No remixed stuff or new sounds.

Sirlin said it wouldn't be possible to use the CPS1 music, I think. Though if it's possible for them to use the PC version music, I don't see why they can't rip the CPS1 music to WAV or whatever and put it in there. Personally I never really understood why people prefer the CPS1 versions, maybe I'm too new-school.

CPS1 has fat bass and the classic feel. Please not the arranged mode from AE, that shit sucks donkey balls.

Actual instrumental music would be awesome. I can't even imagine what Bison's stage would sound like performed by an orchestra.

CPS-1, CPS-2, and a new version. Kind of like in anniversary edition, except the remix should not be as gay as possible.

I believe Sirlin said that they simply don't have the space for more than one set of music, so no multiple versions.I didn't see this earlier. Well, fuck.

In that case, I think a remix would be appropriate--but a good remix. Like arranging the music for a jazz fusion band or something. I will reiterate that the remix in AE was gay, and I hope they stay away from that synthesizer shit from now on.

Remix it.

Use actual instruments as opposed to the bleeps and bloops of 1994.

Any music and all if possible.

Keep in mind. Every dime that they spend on music is another dime that doesn't go to rebalancing, graphics, voice acting, and all the other bells-and-whistles.

Check out the stickied thread.

And I'm just saying, they don't wanna clear their budget by paying the London Symphony Orchestra to do all the music.

I vote to go with the PC version of the music trax.

This is the HD Remix and I think that the PC versions are way cooler than any of the other versions.

Can someone post a link with the PC trax?

CPS2, same samples, but in higher quality. If Capcom still has the source samples sitting around anywhere, of course.
Personally I never really understood why people prefer the CPS1 versions, maybe I'm too new-school. :confused:I prefer the CPS2 versions, myself. They sound really "80's-ish" with the synth brass samples everywhere and such. Then again, I suppose that might be why other people dislike them. I do think a few of the songs sound better in CPS1, but that has more to do with the song being played in a different key than the actual sounds being used.

Use those remixes and contract the dudes to do a few more to flesh out the ones that need work or fill in any gaps.

That, or CPS1.

Co-sign.

If you can re-sample the original material at a better quality, that'd be perfect. But honestly, that 90's rawk star guitar solo shit sounds cheasy. And I think re-covering the tracks with some techno-trance sound of today would sound similarly cheasy. If I sincerely thought that the music and voices could be redone and not come off lame, I'd say go for it! But my guess is that money will be spent and it'll sound like AE or something similar that most people find lame. So my vote goes for leaving the music and sounds the same.

I'm surpirised to hear so many people liking the PC version soundtrack - I think it's pretty poor. My opinion is that a new remixed version of the CPS2 coundtracks would be ideal (and would go well with the whole idea of this game itself being a remake of ST). If that's not possible, I'm really not sure.

I like the T. Hawk, Ryu, Balrog, and Cammy stages the best. The Blanka one is pretty good too.

I think SOME of the cps2 versions are pretty good (better or worse than cps1 is your choice) but several tunes are wonky on the cps2 version... at least cps1 has a more "balanced" quality among the tunes. The problem is... if they use cps1, how will the new challengers stages sound?

Another thing i'm hoping for is to attach songs from your harddrive on to certain levels, the same way Phantom Dust does it. This way if you've found remix's of a characters music that you like on the net, you can just use that one from your hard drive.

That's a built in feature on the 360, you can do that with any game. ps3, not so much, think the developers have to implement it themselves.

Ah. Being a PS3 owner without a 360, however, my request still stands.

Also, those remixes someone linked are haute  (except for Dee-Jay's; that pseudo-rapper or whatever needs to stfu).

EDIT: Vega's music is ass too.

Um, it's the same thing with the 360 and original Xbox, it has to be implemented by the devs themselves. Last time I checked, I can't play Gears online with Guns n'Roses playing in the background.

False. You probably just didn't...figure it out, it's not hard to do. My friend and I listen to whatever music we want while playing Gears or any other Xbox 360 or arcade title (so long as we upload it to the Hard Drive first)
