One of my best friend's got robbed at a videostore he works at. Since its in the middle of nowhere, they were no witnesses and for some reason the camera didn't 'catch' it. By the time we showed up, cops were swarming the place tryin' to find any useful information. My friend was shaken up, but thankfully the shooter missed (it was point blank too. The bullethole is still in the wall and ALMOST hit the pron!). The popo's took his shirt (since it had 'residue' on it) and my friend's face was speckled with red marks (from the blast). No news on who done it, but over here, I take it the popo's just called it a day and went to sleep. This happened about 4 months ago. We call him Bulletproof now. True story.

Some kid pulled one on me. At first I was scared and gave him $20, but I'll be damned if a 10 year old robs me.
I punched the little fucker in the eye then he shot at me. It was a fucking bb. He tried to run but I tackled him, punched the other eye, took back my money [and his $37] and even jacked his bb gun.
If you are gonna rob someone, don't rob someone 3x bigger than you.

Well, I was at a party...maybe over a decade ago. Some crazy fucker high on PCP jumps out and screams, "You fucked my sister!" Points a gun point blank in my face and pulls the trigger....*CLICK*. It was empty. My only response was "What?" It was that quick. Not even a second for all this to transpire. I wasn't even scared, I didn't have time to.
My friends tackled him. My friends back in the day...lets just say weren't the goody goody type. They stabbed him a couple times. Then dragged his bleeding ass to the back of one of their trucks and drove off. Not only did he try to kill one of their friends, I was the "good kid". The future college kid and now law school kid. So they protected me and that made them ultra pissed.
I'm not sure what they did with him but I have a idea. 5 years ago I went back home and met with some of my old friends. I asked them about it casually and they basically told me to shut the fuck up and never mention it again. I know what happened, and they didn't want me involved.
Kinda-sorta.
A friend of mine and this guy were about to fight, and i stepped inbetween them to break it up, when my friend pulled a gun out. Shocked the shit out of me, cuz i didnt know he had one, and that it was pointed at me. He told me to get out of the way, and i told him to put it it down.
It was a weird sensation... i knew there was a possiblity i could get really hurt, but at the same time, it was my friend, so i didnt have the concern that i would if some random person held a gun on me. It was kinda out-of-body like, i could see the situation from an almost 3rd person perspective.
Eventually, he put the gun down and we left, but yeah, definitely not something i'd like to happen again. (Also, that was pretty much the end of our friendship. We talk if we see each other in the streets, but he dont call, i dont call)

I had a gun pointed at my when i was like 10. Some guy in my neighborhood rolled up on his ex-wife all pissed off. I didn't know any better, so i strolled over to my friend's grandmother's house. RIGHT IN FRONT of the guy with the gun. The guy beat the shit out of the lady's door, and I walked by the guy's house, not thinking anything too bad about it. I looked the guy straight in the eye and he kinda looked mean at me. He flipped his coat and I could see the gun. I kept walking and made it to my friend's g-ma's house, where the dude's mom YANK's me into the house, where I'm like"WTF ma?". Then she throw me on the ground and tell me what's going on. Then I realize I'm a dumbass kid who's grew up too much in the 'burbs to realize a real ass domestic dispute.
What's funny now is that kid who's mom pulled me in is the president of our college. Small world.
No, but where I'm from it happens often. Shootouts and Drive-by's.

It was the norm when I was in LA.. people I know from school (not exactly friends of mine though) got shot or killed over parties or football games gone wrong.. LAPD drew their weapons on me a couple times (over bullshit, honest, I have a clean record).. and some neighborhoods hear birds chirping out their window every night but I heard gunshots out of mine.

I've had lots of people I was friendly with have guns pointed at them, but never any close friends until I moved here. Twice in the two years I've lived in florida I've had close friends who have had their houses broken into and been robbed at gun point.
I have never pointed any of my guns at anyone. I'm not pointing any gun at anyone that I'm not ready to kill a second later, and I have yet to kill anyone. I hope I never have to.
I had a friend once who thought it would be funny to come up and point his BB pistol at me while I was reading. That was real stupid because it's easy to tell it's a BB gun, and when I stood up he could see my gun on my belt. I just left his place and went home. That act of stupidity was the last straw, and I never talked to him again.

I still remember the phone call.....
Yeah. Happened a few weeks ago ( I could look through my post history to see the exact date).
I was walking alone through a dark alley next to my old high school. He drove by, parked got out of his car (he lives next to the school and sells candy to kids during before/after school hours). We talked for a bit about what I was doing and how he had been robbed twice recently and I, being tired of people accosting me (hence the lonely alley walk), gave him sass and eye rolling.
At the end of our talk he says he's calling the police. Whether or not I did something wrong, to me, was of no consequence. I can either talk to police, be a supsect for a while and beat my case or I can simply walk the fuck home and watch Conan O'Brian. I start walking off and he tells me to stay where I am, claiming he can keep me there. I continue walking and he threatens to kill me. I continue walking and he pulls out a gun and tells me to get my hand out of my pocket (a back-turned stranger is rather threatening, after all.
He then shoots into mid air.
I run full speed and make it home with no incidence.
In my mind, before the gunshot I was mostly just annoyed/pissed. After the shot I was scared fucking stupid and rather worried.

i was at a house party in someones backyard. the party was mostly outside and real dead (it was a gangster party). no one really talked to eachother for some reason and me and my friends were just kinda chillin on the side. after a couple drinks, i need to pee and decided to go down the dark side of the house and pee there. while i was washing hte walls 5 or 6 shots went off in the street and all of a sudden i heard everyone in the back yard fleeing into the house. i was in mid stream, so i couldnt stop. after i jiggled i checked myself to see if there were any unwanted bullet holes in my chest and i zipped up and ran insde with the rest of them.
but that wasnt it. some dude was inside trying to be cool and he pulled his own gun out and started yelling threats out the window. it was lame as hell. but that was really hte closest encounter to a gun fight ive been to. gangster bitches yelling random phrases like "you got nothing!" "bitch please!" "fucking aye!" in the corner of the kitchen was funny(away from the windows).

If so, what goes through your head? what happened? And when and where?
*** True story ***
The first time i had a gun pulled on me I was in a video store in lower east side manhattan years ago. further east than china town fair.. extremely close to the projects. I'll never forget I was practicing a fairly simple ryu combo in super turbo (landing strong, strong, d.short, Super fireball) I remember I was happy that i was the only person there cause i waisted like 5 dollars trying to get it right..
So i have my back to the entry way and 2 guys rush in. Just at that moment I land the combo and I'm like
"YESS!!"
Guy with a ski mask (not the old style the newer style that just covers your face like strider) and a hoodi puts a gun to the back of my head:
*clic-click*
"Get on the Floor Kid!!"
So imagine that.. I was freaking happy as hell that i landed the combo.. and now theres a gun pointed at me. I guess that explains why i said:
"But.. but i just did the combo into super."
I said it with the utmost in sincerity.. almost as if the robber would be like: "Aye look at that way to go kid .. heres a cookie you scamp now run along."
In stead he said to me calmly but definitely sternly
"I'm not fucking playing with you kid get on the floor and don't fucking move"
I complied but in the distance i saw T. Hawk pwning my ryu and thinking "fuck".
So my thoughts were, Guns don't kill people, people kill people, and people with gunz pwn my ryu in super turbo
The rest of the robbery was actually pretty funny these guys were complete idiots.. at one point during the robbery they tripped and knocked over a rack of videos:
"Ah fuck i knocked this shit over.. help me lift it back up"
"ok shit Ima put these [videos] off the floor you grab the register"
Guy gets to the register
"Manny the register is locked"
"Ayo, what the fuck did i tell you about using my real name man .. shit... EVERYBODY LISTEN UP.. MY NAME IS NOT MANNY JUST FORGET THAT SHIT MY NAME IS NOT MANNY"
"why you flipping its not like i said your full name, I didn't say manny rodriguez.. damn stop bugging"
"What the fuck man .. ayo EVERYBODY LISTEN UP .. MY NAME IS NOT MANNY RODRIGUEZ!! .. DAMN Miguel I swear you stupid."
"Yo son! you just said my real name..."
".. shit EVERYBODY... ah fuck Miguel just get the tip jar we out"
I swear on my grandmothers grave that's a true story.

I live in Louisville, home of the Kentucky Derby (this Saturday, actually, lol.) I have a close friend who's father used the leader of a VERY big biker gang. I'm not even going to tell the details because I seriously think he wouldn't like me talking about it. Every year, he has a HUGE derby party on his property and invites thousands of bikers from all over the country to stay on his lad for the weekend and party.
When I was 18, I attended this party with my friend. I know his family well, so we were all hanging out in the living room while all the craziness was happening outside. All of a sudden, everyone gets their guns out and starts showing them off to eachother. I was just hanging out, minding my own buissness when some random drunk biker pulls out a loaded .45 and presses the tip of it into my temple and starts asking me if I "think I'm hot shit..." Others in the room were laughing while I just sat there as calm as I could. I'm a scared pussy when it comes to guns. I'm just afraid of stupid people doing stupid things with them (i.e. what was happening at that moment.) My friend's dad steps in and disarms this induvidual with a quickness, then calmly asks him not to pull that out anymore on his property. Luckily, the dude wasn't TOO drunk and understood. There was pretty fast movement going on near my dome with the whole "disarming." I was scared shitless and very thankful I made it out of that party.
Maybe not the most exciting gun story, but something I'll never forget.
Gun shot directly at me. no
Guns shot around me, fuck yes.

Back when I was in junior high, I started seeing this girl I hung out with for about a year. Her father wanted to meet me, so we arranged a date with a few friends and went over to her house to pick her up. He didn't point the gun at me but he did pull it out and say there would be severe consequences if I did anything I wasn't supposed too. I believe it was a .44 revolver.
Anyways, I was a little shaken up after that. We went on the date, nothing "happened" and went home. I told my dad about it and he promptly called the police and had him arrested for threatening a minor with a weapon charges. I think he dropped thm later but suffice to say, that "date" never happened again.

i had a gun pulled on me when i was about 16.
me and some of my older friends went for a drive into the city.
(in particular St. Kilda - big red light district in AU.)
as we are driving around giving hookers some shit,
we drive past a crackhead/bum asleep against a waist high brick wall in front of a house.
one of my mates notices this guy has pissed himself all down his legs.
i (being the young guy out to prove myself to the older guys) lean out and start chanting 'HEEEEY PISSY PISSY!!'
the guy wakes up and starts to stumble over to our car.
as he is probably about 10-15 meters from me, he pulls a gun from his pants.
being the first (and only) time i have ever had a gun pulled on me,
and Australia not having (at the time) much gun crime,
i fucking shit myself and dropped back down on the backseat.
my friends plants his foot down and this car was a massive v8,
just sits there spinning its wheels til it gets traction and we fuck off to maccas for a calm down burger.

I got robbed at gun point at my old job and when they caught them one turned out to be a friend of mine who was scouting me. I was pissed off because I was grabbed at the dumpster and the first thing I thought was it was gang thing because he had a bandana over his face so I started to wale on him but before I knew I was grabbed from behind by someone else and the guy in front pulled out a small 22 and at that point I didn't do anything because my job wasn't worth getting shot for.

Used to experience gun violence in crown heights on a daily basis in the early 90's. Jamaicans and black americans in gun violence happened everyday. Never had guns pointed at me, but at everyone I know did in the vicinity and witnessed murder many times.
Right now, these things happen seldom these days in brooklyn.
It was a stupid era filled with brainwashed hoodlums shooting each other for petty stuff with the "gangsta culture" attitude garbage in rap while you had a far better productive scene in the grunge wave in music where people enjoyed having fun in the 90's without senseless violence.
Society in urban America is very stupid.
Another incident i forgot about:
Around age 6 or so, a friend and i were playing in a car one day, when i found a gun under the car seat. Now up to this point, i'd never seen a real gun, so i just figured it was a toy... and i pointed the gun at my friends head. I said "Hey Patrick..." and started to pull the trigger, when my cousin told me that it was a real gun, and went and told my mom what i did. And all the parents in the house (it was a cookout) came running out to see what was going on...and i just sat there with the gun in my hand.
Now, for some reason, even at that age, i had the idea of what a REAL gun could do, so i began to cry thinking about what i could have done to my friend. But i still got my ass beat. (even thought it wasnt my fault. If you carry a concealed weapon, why would you let kids play near it?)

One time.
It was 2002. I was a Senior in HS. My friend/neighbor Derek and I decided to go play some basketball at the nearby high school. My brother and his friend Adam decided to go with us. It was around 5pm and we started playing some 21. My brother and Adam didn't play, they were skateboarding. School had been out for a couple hours so no one was near by. It was a hot day.
We were about midway through our second game of 21 when I noticed a group of about 8-10 guys approaching us. They looked like they were up to no good. A couple of the were on bicycles. We kept playing, but were not playing as hard as they got closer.
When they got to the court we were playing on, one (apparently the "leader") approached my brother and started patting his pockets saying "where the trees at?" while looking at all of us. In the meantime his underlings surrounded us in a semi circle.
Next thing I know out of no where Derek comes with a CRUSHING blow to the "leaders" jaw. Rocked him and drilled him a few more times after that as his comrades jumped in. Let me tell you a little bit about Derek. He is a high energy guy, and he used to listen to Master P and watch gangster movies like blood in blood out. I knew he had that kind of mentality, but he still surprised this shit out of me when he did this. Back to the story.
After this a short frenzy occured where myself, Adam, and my brother started fighting these guys off. I remember faces, and images, but everything here just seemed like it was moving so fast. I remember we were beating ass as these guys seemed to be pussys because they had us at least 2:1 but we were holding our own and I remember seeing a few of them laying on the ground during this frenzy.
In the midst of all this, I hear Derek's voice:
"You see that? He has a gun."
I look over and there is the "leader" pulling a gun out of his waist.
I froze. I was paralyzed in time watching in what seemed like slow motion. Every thought going through my mind at that moment. I was still. I realized his friends were beating Derek's ass as he was holding his gun. I was still frozen and couldn't do anything. But even if I could move, would I do anything? When I look back on it, I am glad my body froze, because in the heat of the moment I dont know what I would have done.
The next thing I remember was a woman screaming something. This snapped me out of it and everything felt like it was normal again. The group of thugs took off running, and Derek was on the ground bleeding.

Am I sick for laughing at that part?
Not at all..
Looking back it was probably one of the funniest things that ever happened.. especially the fumbling of what was to be a pretty simple robbery. At least nobody got hurt. Except the pride and good name of Manny and Miguel.

I got Semi-shot at.
From where our school is,there is a very large park next to it,with a very long sidewalk, with a bus stop at the very end.You can imagine that alot of bad stuff happens in the park.Anyway I walked along the sidewalk, alongside a gang(I knew a couple of the members,so I was cool),then out of nowhere this other gang comes out of the park(Apparently waiting us). They start shooting at us,and of course everybody is wave dashing the fuck out of there.
The world would be a much better place if every gang member got a bullet in their head tomorrow. Most of the time, they are fighting over some straight stupid shit. It's sad that most of the time they miss the people they are targeting, and instead hit the innocent people and little kids in the crossfire.

Sometimes it feels like I'm the only fucking one who thinks this...everyone else seems to look up to these people who are flagrently the worst possible human beings...

one time when i was ilke 8 or 9, me and my cousins were being little assholes and were acting like we were scared to go home to our house which was across this softball fieldd in the middle of the night...so my mom took out her 9 mm while we were half assing it thru this barbwire fence on the property and shot over our heads. needless to say we all superman'd over that fence and ran across that field in like 2 secs.

Because I had trouble learning math in 4rth grade, my dad grabbed his gun, handed it to me, and told me to put the barrel in my mouth and pull the trigger cuz he couldn't stand to have an "ill-formed"* child (he thought I was retarded, despite me reading at a 9th grade level), and that I would be doing both him and myself a favor. Does that count?
*Being around my more "country" relatives, I found that there is apparently some sort of stigma among country blacks about having a child who deformed or a slow learner, or "ill-formed", as they call it.

I don't think every gang member should get a bullet to the head. Some should get hydrochloric acid poured slowly onto their stomach area. I mean seriously, a bullet to the head is too quick sometimes.
And as for the topic question, not really. My cousin's dad died from a gunshot, but that's all I can think of. I've never had a gun pulled on me or anyone I know.
But I know it's only because I haven't gotten a job yet and live a very sheltered life. I assume it's only a matter of time as stupid as I can be. Bill Cosby came to my community college for a free speech, and one of the points his representative said before he got there was that when he saw the stats (I guess crime and unemployment) of Flint, he had to come RIGHT NOW.
