It time to take a trip to the past......remember the good old days waking up early saturday morning as kid, grabbing a bowl of cereal or other breakfast and sitting down until 12 pm watching your favorite shows...i do and here is just a couple of what i remember growing up as a kid watching on saturday mornings
Batman and Robin -damn this show was just the shit....it was dark, it had action, and i always wanted to know what was going to happen next
X-men......it was...just hard..i mean even adults where watching this it was like a movie in every episode
Sonic The Hedgehog- not that freedom fighter crap...i mean the first one..the game was great so why not give it its own show...5 stars
Pokemon -bleh....it was hard when i was a kid..everyone was sporting pokemon gear...games...cards...etc, but you would never catch me wearing any pokemon clothes
Freakazoid - funny as hell..there was so many inside jokes i could never understand when i was younger but now that i look back its comedy gold
Animainacs - come on who couldnt remember this, they had tons of inside jokes to which where great and still are
those where 6 i remember, im sure there is more so what cartoons do you remember from that time period?

Any cartoon Paul Dini and Bruce Timm laid hands on during the 90s was top tier.
Also, though it technically began in '89, The Simpsons was fucking incredible in the 90s.

Rocko's Modern Life was filled with so many sexual innuendos...and it was a fucking kid's show! Couldn't get any better than that!
Go back and watch it and notice how much shit is in that show. Like how Rocko's hobby was "jacking". Or how they had a restaurant in that show called "Chokey Chicken".

Spunky, Really Really Big Man's nipples, and the episode where Filbert and cat had babies and one of the babies looked like Heffer were the only ones I remember. When Rocko goes to get his eyes checked, the optometrist pulls his eyeballs out of his head, fondles them, and tells him to cough.

GAZE into my nipples of the FUTURE! . . .
Don't leave out GI Joe, the Transformers or TMNT.
I'm sure Thundercats will come up although in retrospect not one of my favorites.

Honestly, I would be pissed off at the street sharks if I were the mayor of that town. All that damage from them diving into the concrete and shit must cost a bundle to fix. Taxes, Property damage, and those bastards fucking shit up do not mix. I'd rather have the super villains around.

One thing that was terrible though...Camp Candy...did anyone else watch that mess? Jesus Christ Superstar that was garbage. Even the theme song was trash.
heh, there was also a "Rosie"(O'Donnel or Barr...I can't even remember) cartoon. The worst idea ever though was Tales from the Cryptkeeper. That still doesn't make sense to me. You take a horror themed show from HBO that was loaded with all kinds of death, blood, torture and occasional nudity...and make a saturday morning's cartoon out of that?! ...and not just on any network...ABC!? Disney-owned, sparkly clean, censored up the ass ABC? *cue John McEnroe to run in for the YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS!* Really, now...come on. Who came up with that...and who was the guy who said "ok, that's a good idea."?

ABC wasn't Disney-owned until 1996. Tales from the Cryptkeeper ran on ABC until 1994, then popped up on CBS for one season in 1997.

I agree but only up to the second season. The first episodes when Ash would get his ass handed to by everyone including Pikachu was funny as hell. The first appearances of Team Rocket were great. Back when James was acting pimp and not letting Jesse run his shit. I remember the intro they always had. http://youtube.com/watch?v=JqMJwOsBQzE
Reboot (shame on you all for not mentioning it yet)

a lot of my favorite shows has already been mention but anyone remember these ?
- Mysterious Cities of Gold

and there's this cartoon named "Sous les signes des 3 mousquetaires" in French, I don't know if there was an english version of it, here's a link to the intro.

Street Sharks never had a spinoff. I kinda have an idea of what Maxx is talking about.
A shot in the dark, but here goes:
Are you talking about a dinosaur show where the humans used dinosaurs as battle vehicles or some shit like that. And the head honcho on the villains side piloted a Tyranosaurus Rex and his "cockpit" was at the top of the T-Rex's head?
I'm really trying to remember a cartoon like this because I remember watching something like this as a kid. Even had one of the toys(stegasaurus).
Million

Mysterious Cities of Gold was 80s
The show Deathscythe just mentioned sounds like Robotix to me. I had 2 Robotix, one was a humanoid creature/vehicle, the other was a dinosaur type(tyrannosaurus), and the heads were like a ship/cockpit with a human pilot.
I couldn't stand Bobby's World. Howie Mandel's "Bobby" voice was funny, yet annoying at the same time. Anyway, the ugly visual of that show kept me away, as well as the unappealing main character. I can imitate that voice, and it sounds annoying to me even then.
I'd say overall, early 90s was mostly garbage, and things got better around 94 and up. The only good things from the early 90s really was Xmen and Batman. Everything else from that era falls way below that.
Random note: going way back to early 80s here....the Pacman cartoon is available on Xbox Live's Marketplace. The first episode is free! They have the entire season.

I wiki-ed it due to my unfamiliarity with the show. It's not that show either. =/
In the show I'm trying to describe, they didn't use robotic dinosaurs. They were actually real dinosaurs. Same premise, just different cartoons. I might have to look for a list of 90's cartoons and see if I can pull it out from there.

ah, and Robotix is 80s anyway.
I wasn't a big fan of those weekday afternoon disney shows. Stuff that wasn't either Gummi Bears(which was Saturday morning, actually) or earlier era Gargoyles(the show got stale after awhile) didn't grab me. I also liked Rescue Rangers, but that was mostly because Gadget was cute....possibly the hottest rodent ever.
speaking of that show...didn't Fat Cat seem...just a touch gay? He seemed quite fruity.

It seems that none of the Dougs fan remember "Killer Tofu" and the "I'm a dog you're a dog" song.
I remeber Doug's first date with Patty, when Fentruck

Dammit Im getting nolstalgic. lol Is Doug still on tv now a days? If so what channel?

That song was hella catchy. The Beets were dope. I loved Doug. Granted, he was a pussy during a lot of moments, but it was a great show all around. Kinda wished junior high school was like that. But, unfortunately, it wasn't. Ghetto junior high in the Bronx ftl.
Doug's sister was hot. A bit artsy, but she'd catch it.

USA's Cartoooon Express was so 80s. I remember watching it in '87/88. This was another chance to see Pacman! They also had Grape Ape, Inch-High Private Eye, Jabberjaw(terribly annoying, BLATANT Curly rip off.) Hair Bear Bunch, etc. etc.
It was quite annoying that I could never see CArtoon Express thru to the end. I always wondered why they would put it on weekday mornings when kids have to leave for school. In memphis, it was 6am to 8 or 8:30. I had to be gone by 7:30 or earlier. It most likely came on at different times in other cities, but this seemed so unfair and stupid to me.
damn Jabberjaw was annoying...I hate that I'm reminded of that piece of crap now. I almost hated him as much as Scrappy Doo.

Go back and watch it and notice how much shit is in that show. Like how Rocko's hobby was "jacking". Or how they had a restaurant in that show called "Chokey Chicken".
Or how about one of the first episodes when those flying semi-nude "tinkerbell" like fairies were flying all around, and then we see some animal (I forgot what it was) having binoculars and drooling like a fire hydrant with a big Ronald McDonald smile on his face. He might as well have been beating his meat that whole scene. They allowed Rocko to get away with straight pervert shit.

naw Eagle Riders was actually new somewhat. Gatchaman came out with an OVA that took place after the original series was done, so Saban basically dubbed the OVA and BAM we have Eagle Riders.
By the way, anybody remember the show called The Power Team where they had Quark, BigFoot, some black guy from a basketball game, and a warrior guy from a game fighting various video game bad guys?

I miss the damn 90's cartoon =( 99% of 90's cartoon>21st century cartoons.
King Arthur intro was fucking beast (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxzO07adAt0).
DarkStalkers cartoon was okay. I liked the outro though, Trouble Man. They used it in the anime (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yzkh1jz44Oc) too.
Dragon Ball (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1lnDtZ32Wgw) was dope. Heavily censored, yes. But still good. They redid all the music, but unlike, say, the Cartoon Network version of DBZ, the music was actually good, and probably better than the OG music. The later dub of DB which aired on Cartoon Network was a better translation and more complete, since the OG Dragon Ball dub only covered the first season and a movie or two which never made it to TV... I still like the old version better. Plus, having seen DB before DBZ, when I actually saw DBZ it blew my fucking mind. Goku is an adult and has a kid....!
Speaking which, anyone else remember Monkey Magic (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCEuNqofDM4)? Interesting art style, especially at the time. I dug it, a shame it wasn't around longer.
Anyone remember Captain Simian and the Space Monkeys (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPuuVt_ld0M)?
The 1990s Fantastic 4 cartoon was pretty decent, but it got revamped about half way through. Black Panther epsisode was pretty dope, among others. And where else are you gonna see Galactus? And when Ghost Rider showed up that one time...godlike.

G-Force: Guardians of Space (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2jjCMgGOYw), Cartoon Network's first-ever anime from back in 1995, and the most recently aired incarnation of Japan's "Gatchaman" in the U.S. It still is a good, albeit incomplete dub that's recently been superceded by ADV's English release of the original Gatchaman series, which IMO doesn't have as good of an English dub.

It's also strange how Laura was so much hotter in her younger days....yet in later seasons she just fell off.
Xmen had one Apocalypse story I'll never forget..."Beyond Good and Evil". It was amazing. This was the high point of the series for me. Apocalypse was at the top of his game there with some of his best quotable material.

Toons these days lack slapstick and violence. Then again slapstick=violence.
btw, is there an 80s cartoon thread?

and i remember one show about a group of monster hunters that went all over the world. the geek guy of the team was actualy a wearwolf. i just wish i could recall the title.
Monster Force. Dude's name was Lucas. I love how they'de get tricked into going into a werewolf-populated town, and next thing you know, chicks are shredding their dresses for breathing room...like a lycanthropic Mardi Gras. Ladies just bustin' out of their clothes...which somehow repaired themselves sometimes when they changed back.

Holy shit, you reminded me of King Arthur! Oh man I remember King Arthur on FOX I woke up I think every 6:00 or 7:00 am on Saturdays just to see him get his ass to the round table and then transform his ass into fucking golden armour-king. I even remember Monkey Magic, I bought a boot-legged copy of the game for PS1!

If you want, I have the whole song...it was a track on an album that kinda sucked, so I only ripped Trouble Man.

i'm sure BTAS and STAS have been mentioned, Darkseid used to bitch slap him, i love when he turned earth against superman then supes went to apokalips to pop shit off and got his ass kicked then finally over came him only to be emotionally and morally owned as dudes peasants picked up up carried him inside and shut the door in supermans face.
No homie you forgot the line that Darkseid said:
"I am many things Kal-El, but here, I am God!"
Those are the best lines ever spoken on any cartoon.

Hmmm... for me what comes to mind are some computer animated productions like Shadow Raiders, Beasties and ReBoot.
For other cartoons, I turned to Pinky & the Brain, Rocko's Modern Life, Duckman, Spider-Man (loved the Spider Wars two parter), Darkwing Duck, Big Guy and Rusty, Gargoyles, Batman Beyond, Space Goofs, Spawn, Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego, Dexter's Lab, Bump in the Night, Aaahh!! Real Monsters, Mummies Alive! and Night Hood.

Nothing tops Rocko. Seriously
Needs more seasons. I have them all but I really wish there was more than 4.
One of the funniest moments which I doubt anyone will remember was from Season 4 "with friends like these" where rocko wins the wrestling tickets that filburt and heffer were trying to win. The radio DJ "uncle wee-wee" was HILARIOUSLY drawn and had the funniest voice. "okay all you sweathearts this here is uncle wee wee purrin from 92.2 K-Woo. Lovely listening for lovely listeners. As you know baby im into the 7th day of a commercial free love fest and nows your last chance to win tickets to the biggest wrestling event in o-town. Thats right baby we're GIVIN away 2 tickets to the WWWWWF. Ill take caller number ninety twoooo"
if you could see how he was drawn and hear his voice it would be funnier.
also whoever said that heffer's family was vegetarians is pretty dumb since that was never mentioned in any episode and there are two episodes where they clearly indicate they eat meat. season 3 an elk for heffer where heffer is supposed to bring back an elk for his family to eat but ends up falling in love with it instead and season 1 whos for dinner when rocko meets heffers parents for the first time and they eat a moose raw, rocko finds little red riding hoods in a closet, and pigs in a mirror. dont know where you got the idea they were vegetarians.

I loved Real Adventures of Jonny Quest, but I gotta agree with you about Questworld. When I was 12 I thought it was kind of cool, but now I think it was all a waste of time. The shit basically served no real purpose, it was just put in by the animators at random (actually it was the network suits who told the animators to put in the Questworld segments). The show was dope, but Questworld did suck and btw I wish they would bring the show back on the air.

Marvel's cartoons sucked, but damn the themes were nice. Well, except for Fantastic Four.
