lol Suprisingly I actually asked this question several years ago to a zookeeper in the Miami Zoo. Apparently bears and dogs do this quite often due to their skin excess in their jawlines, foruntately the mouth is only of the fastest healing areas of an animal so it doesn't cause much discomfort.
