My dog just died recently but it was a Border Collie. I was not a fan of that dog or any dogs in general. I am a cat person.

Dead ones.
JK. I like a dog that doesn't bark or bite. When I see somebody's dog acting up like a little one, I just want to punch it in the face and be like shut up.
Luckily my mom's dog doesn't bark or bite. Her old dog was a fucking asshole, any sound and he'd bark like a motherfucker for an hour until you go out and tell him to shut the fuck up, or like I did when he woke me up at 6 am, go out there and whack him a couple times with a pillow.

Hot dogs. the kind that plump when you cook'em.

Anyways.. I love big dogs. Love em. My first dog was Half black lab half german shepard but so smart and so loveable.. he was a little hyper at times but I actually took almost an entire year from hanging out to just work with my dog getting him to do tricks.. getting him to not respond to other dogs around him was hard.. but we got it.. then he died.. he had a tumor the size of a football in his chest and I never knew.. It ruptured and he died. Sonic was 13.
Though i typically don't like small dogs
Someone left a pomerainan out all night infront of my building in the rain. my bf's mom saw it and was like could i check it out (to see if he's like vicious or something) it was weird when he saw me he like ran to me and stood like between my feet for me to protect him. I kept him took him to the vet.
turns out he's got no teeth and is about 8-10 years old.. I named him Gummi.

My mate has a German Shepherd too, she's gorgous. She's the most loving dog I've ever seen. German Shepherds are usually quite agressive dogs, but this one is quiet as hell. She hardly ever barks and she never gets agressive with humans, all she ever does is lick and love you.

My friend has a pitbull and it's friendly as hell. Doesn't bite, dosen't bark, etc... My german is about 4 years old now, so i doubt know yet if i should get a pitbull because i doubt they would get along. Also, when i get to live on my own, i kinda want to have a doberman, german, rottweiler and pitbull... then again, don't know how that will go.
Who do you think will win on a 1v1 from each dog?
My GS is very friendly, he wasn't policed trained w/c sucks though...

i have never lived without dogs. ive been around mastiffs, great danes, german shepards, and mountain dogs all of my life.
The ones that left the greatest impression on me were the caucasian mountian dogs...Caucasian Ovcharka. I have nothing but respect for these animals. Overall they have less poor breeding then alot of other big dogs, as far as i know there are only a couple hundred in the US. They have very strong personalities.
You have to be strong mentally and physically to handle this animal.

The Great Pyrenees is easily my favorite breed, they are not a dog you can have in a city setting though. I had one for 10 years and he died last year, but he was a great dog. They are great protectors and are very gentle around children. My pyrenees would not let people he did not know get near my Godson, and would growl if they got too close. He also bit the hell out of my grandma's neighbor's pitt when he tried to get into her yard when my two year old cousin was playing, so yeah, a great protector if that is what you are looking for.

I have a chow. Previously, I had an Alaskan husky. I like all dogs, but I prefer to own bitches of larger/medium breeds. They're just calmer than their male counterparts, and they don't go to town on your leg (although they do get their period every six months or so, and it lasts for fucking ever).

I would highly recommend a corgi. Easy to train, medium size, great personalities and they pull hella bitches @ the dog park.
-Epsilon I read that great danes have an average lifespan of like 7-8 years. Seems like a real setup for depression. But my mom has had one for like 4 years now thats real nice. Its 9yrs old now and doesnt seem to be slowing down so well see.

I have a pit bull she doesn't know the first thing about aggression. (great guard dog there...) She just wants to play/eat all the time.
We've had 3 pit bulls in my life time, 2 dying of old age and the one we have now. Apparently giving them hot sauce in their food when they're puppies makes them vicious. Also not neutering him if its a male. Obviously training them to fight will make them unpredictable. Other wise they'll grow up like normal dogs.
Keep in mind when playing with them that they have the strongest jaws of all breeds of dogs. Also, they're banned in a lot of places.

That's scary... but, i heard that the rottweiler has the strongest jaw (or was it the strongest bite?), anyway i remember one show in the discovery channel and some guy messured the bite force og a GSD, Pitbull, and Rott... the rott pwned both of em. around 300-something i think was the force of the rotts bite.

My favorite kind of dog is male german shepard, very obedient and the best guard dog you can have.
For hundreds of years, if not thousands of years, people have been breading war dogs. People have always tried breeding dogs with wolves to make them more aggressive and stronger.
People who have money buy Caucasian mountian dogs when they want stuff gaurded. The reason is because they are the best gaurd dogs. These dogs' aggressive traits actually become dillutted when they are bread with wolves. IMO they are the best bread dog that man has ever made.
Im not taking anything away from a pure bread german shepard, i love them, they are fucking great.....but they are a little too passive to be the best.
