Definitely LA Machineguns and Super GT/Scud Race. LAMG was so fuckin beastly with the gun's heavy recoil and the woofer at your feet. Scud was just crazy fun.

It still bothers me that I could've been so foolish back then about Aliens vs. Predator....thinking "eh, I'll get around to playing that later....it's not like arcades will die out or anything." Famous last words there. I've never played that game as a result of that line of thinking, and likely never will, unless I get into emulation.
I also never got to play that game TimeKillers, and it never got a console release if I recall...but the difference there is that Time Killers didn't look that great. The most appealing thing about it was the insane amounts of blood and violence....that's the only reason I wanted to play.

LA Machineguns was so damn good...I wish I could play that with a huge ass "light"gun.
A bunch of Capcom games: Dungeons and Dragons: SoM, The Punisher(well technically, that did get ported, it was just wasn't anywhere near as good), Alien vs Predator, Cadallics and Dinosaurs...I could go on.
Thank you God, for emulation. Now if you can help us out with that ol' CPS3, PGM, and Atomiwave, I'd go to church every week.

That shitty 3D fuck up on the Sega Collection doesn't count. Not only does it not look right, but all the levels, weapons, and bosses are different. It's like a completely different game.

The above-mentioned TMNT and Time Killers did receive console ports, for the NES and Genesis, respectively. They both paled in comparison to the real thing, graphically.
T.K. was pretty bad. I recently have taken to using TV-out on computers to play these games on my big screen. With the right controllers and converters, it's a pretty satisfying experience.

..and for those with no 360, you missed out on a legitimate release of an arcade perfect TMNT on Live arcade. Now that I've played it recently...it seems filled with a lot of cheap and nearly unavoidable hits...something most of us didn't notice back then since we were kids putting quarters into a machine every few minutes or so.

Anyone know the arcade game where you're some dude hopping from train to train fighting bad guys. Well, it really wasn't a train, more like coal mine carts on a rail. You go from cart to cart and there's only like 1 or 2 enemies on each cart. It was a late 80's/early 90's arcade game? Damn, I don't even know how to explain it. I remember it back at chinatown fair back in the days.

That sounds like Undercover Cops. Did you push the first boss into a smasher to kill him?

Gunblade NY is on the latest Nebula/Model 2 emulator lists, just this year I think. It runs, fullspeed, mouse controls.. recommended.
Also, I loved The King of Dragons but always felt the SNES port missed the point, with horrid graphics. sound and no 3-player, but now it's back on CCC2 I can rejoice.

- Martial Master's, Asura Blade (along with its sequel), and every other Taiwanese fighter that only Asian arcades have.
- As mentioned, both Capcom D&D games were released on a collection for the Saturn in Japan. But it wouldn't hurt to release them again, this time in North America.
- A Capcom "Marvel Fighter" collection is one of the biggest omissions in modern gaming, although licensing being the way it is it's also the least likely to ever see the light of day. I can't believe it's been almost 12 years since COTA was released...damn. :(
- CYBERBOTS! The Japanese Saturn release was not enough! I demand Bloodia, Devliot and Robo-Akuma (Zero Gouki) on XBLA!
- PLANET HARRIER! Awesome awesome rails shooter - one of the arcades at Canada's Wonderland had it last year...seems to be gone now, though :(
- BLOODSTORM! The sequel to Time Killers that received a *massive* amount of hype when it was in development. I should still have the EGM2 issue where it was featured, actually - including the "Johnny Cage switches to Bloodstorm" ad.

...is that being fucking serious right now??? im just going to quote his almost opening paragraph because, really, this is classic douchebaggery...
"As you can see, Aliens takes place 57 years later. This begs the question: 57 years later than what? Well, as any good sci-fi would know, 57 years is the amount of time that Ellen Ripley spends in cryostasis between Alien and Aliens. And while continuity is certainly a beautiful thing, there's one slight problem: Konami never made a game based on Alien. So what we have here is a game that treats itself as a sequel to a movie that assumes you've seen. This is somewhat problematic. Ridley Scott's futuristic horror movie was a huge hit, but it came out two years before I was born. When I first played the Aliens arcade game, I was only eleven and had yet to see an R-rated movie. This is perhaps the biggest problem with Aliens; it assumes that you are already intimately familiar with the characters and storyline from Aliens, so it makes no attempt to develop the plot. OK, that's not true. It does make a minimal attempt... "
i really want to make clear that this guy just said "This is perhaps the biggest problem with Aliens; it assumes that you are already intimately familiar with the characters and storyline from Aliens, so it makes no attempt to develop the plot"...
you got that ? ok good cause that is the most amazing piece of game reviewing ever written...for a moment there i thought this guy was playing an rpg version of aliens...

But the port REALLY sucked. Btw, the fourth guy was Vision, and that's who I usually used. Sometimes I'd use Hawkeye.
And I also agree with AvP, where I always used Lt. Lynn Kurasawa and her "Ha, ha, del, chee, HA!" combo because the last hit was a katana attack. Also, she was top tier due to her speed.

Well, both human characters had reload instead of overheat because they used guns instead of the Predator shoulder cannon. While guns covered more area and fired more quickly (and could be reloaded), they were generally weaker than the shoulder cannon (no explosions and no fire damage either) and gave you only a limited number of clips before you would completely run out of ammo. Meanwhile, the shoulder cannons had infinite ammo, but you had to wait for their heat gauges to deplete.

Ghost Squad
That'll be on the Wii soon.
Anyway:
-Solar Assault: aka 3D Gradius.
-Street Fighter: The Movie: The arcade version, not the console version. I know it's unintentially funny, but I'll like to find some brokeness with a training mode, since MAME won't let me shut time off.

Bucky O Hare for sure. Came out before Turtles in time i think, but had the classic Konami 4 player beat em up....but with guns, and bombs, and flying levels and driving levels and sick bosses.

beat me to it. I'd pay good money to play C and D on xbox live.
but I dont really "miss" anything cause modded xbox plays pretty much all the old school arcade games. I am glad there was no C and D port for snes or genesis. it probably would have been some half assed 1 player shit like AVSP for snes(its nothing like the arcade version:arazz:)

Outfoxies
Night Slashers
All three Jurassic Park shooters
Beast Busters 2nd Invasion
Battle Circuit
Battletoads Arcade
True Grave

ps...another tight arcade game is the avengers, that shit was bomb...you could use iron man, invisible man, hawkeye, captain america, and...there might have been one more but i dont remember...you actually fight galactus in the 2nd stage...classic shit right there...
That was not galactus, it was a giant sentinel.

Cyber Sled was that crack! I played once on arcade at chuckie cheese lol. Man i was hooked on it. I bought it for the PS1 when it came out 2. Just wasn't the same.
Same here! I wish I had an ironside like Rexler. But I was Amanda Bates alot because she looked like a ninja. Yeah, the PSX version was no where near challenging/fun as the arcade. Can't duel me in the Gladiator maze. Felt the same for VO:C. Dual joystick feel can only be brought on an arcade. Translate this poorly and you lose your market.
They gotta bring this out for the Wii.
- SEGA Star Wars Trilogy:The Arcade Game.
...that went well.
