View Full Version : So...GameGO! and Play! are what's left of Gamefan?

How come they both have more ex-gamefan staff members, but they feel and read nothing like Gamefan did and are nowhere near as fun, while Hardcore Gamer has only Terry Wolfinger and the whole mag looks and feels like Gamefan under a diferent name?

How is Hardcore Gamer? Is it like GameFan/Play at all? Because if it ISN'T, I should check it out.

It's almost exactly like gamefan. The art, the commentary, glossy paper, super-high quality pics, all that.

What about the reviews? More objective than GameFan/Play, or is stuff like Dave Halverson giving Sonic 360 9.5/10 because he just likes Sonic?

They just started carrying this mag out here, so I bought one to check it out. I don't play guilty gear, but the accent core preview had shit about nerfed moves/characters, hit boxes, frame advantage, etc... I was impressed.

Seems like Gamefan with people who know there shit. I will definitely check out the next few issues to see how it goes.

I don't know how but I got a few issues of Hardcore free in the mail. By far it was the best game mag I have read since Game-fan. I am going to subscribe to it because it is too good.

Wow, there are some hardcore people on here. I remember buying Die Hard Gamefan issue number #3 at the Die Hard store here in L.A.

My Mom owned a store next to the 2nd Die Hard, so I would walk next door and play Neo Geo all day.

I remember buying an import Batman for Megadrive from Dave Halverson at his tiny little Die Hard store, and he told us to either buy a convertor, or file the cartridge down so it fits in an American Genesis.
