Wolf Blitzer did the democrats a service by not asking them any tough questions, but the Democrats, especially Obama, really dropped the ball on this one. When Mike Gravel outdoes all the candidates (save Kucinich), it isn't a good night.

Obama just griped about the questions, got pwnt for his healthcare plan by Edwards (even though Obama's healthcare plan is the least idiotic of them all), and just BSed around everything (but not skillfully enough to make it not noticable).

Clinton still seems like a colossal bitch, and just generally seemed weak.

Edwards conceded that he was wrong for voting yes to the War in Iraq, which was moronic. Not because of the recent flops in it, but because Edwards was the first senator to recognize that it was not gonna work out, and vocalized such at a time where it was not politically advantageous.

Kucinich did the same thing that he did last time, smack talk a storm, and that's not gonna get him the candidacy, but it's making him look alot better for future runs.

Gravel was the only person who said that English should be made the national language, which was the most in-touch-with-the-public-thing that has been done in any of the debates yet.

Anyway, discuss.

Kucinich will never be a viable presidential candidate, especially if he becomes a front runner and is thereby placed under real media scrutiny. He talks big, but is an otherwise weak politician.

Gravel is the Democratic equivelant to Ron Paul. Since he has zero chance of winning the nomination, he can get away with stating "progressive" opinions without consequence because nobody is going to vote for him in the first place. If any of the real candidates openly supported English as a national language, they would suffer a huge loss of support from both the DNC and the party's voter base.

I'm really tired of these debates in general. Right now, the only two Dems who matter are Hillary and Obama. If both of them falter, Edwards is the only viable backup. Can we please cut out the featherweights and add more substance?

Wow... old...

Agreed with Robert. Hillary stands the best chance, I think. Unfortunately, we've got a lot of weak democratic leaders. Edwards needs to be the primary. Hillary's just.... ugh. I don't even want to get started...

If Ron Paul ever did get the Republican nod ,it would be the first and only time Id vote for a Republican.

Ron Paul is a fad. Nice guy with some nice ideas, but he wouldn't be an effective president. Give me a self-proclaimed "progressive" who's willing to learn how the government works, not the guy who's committing political suicide just to impress disgruntled college students.

obama needs to shorten his answers.

hillary is playing it safe. anybody telling her to be more aggressive and say this or that needs to be quiet. its june 2007 and we don't vote until nov. 2008. she's smart.

i like edwards over both hillary and obama but i'd honestly rather have a female or black male in office over another white male. as stupid as that sounds, i just would like to see it because i just don't think it'll ever happen. i'd love to be proven wrong.

biden looked the best on foreign policy.

kucinich looked like a nut.

the debates were fucking awful. first off, where was the "debate" - it was an endless string of rhetoric and campaign slogans. mike gravel was the only person up there i would vote for, with kucinich in a distant second. everything else was just fucking white noise. also, why talk about social health care when you know it's not going happen? i'm sick of promises about health care and education, it's bullshit because these are politicians, not people who care about helping people...
