i think it will, less lag on kaillera usually afik.... atleast the people who know the game for the most part will play it... it will be awesome for my university.

I doubt it. Anytime I've seen anyone play on Kaillera the lag was always terrible. Only way 3S on XBL will die is if another SF game or other 2d fighter intervenes as a more popular game. Which isn't going to happen for a while (either Xbox or 360 wise).

Very unlikely. The fact is that any emulator program has never been that intuitive to the average joe. Xbox Live provides an easy place for people to log in and get some casual games in (which is what online fighting is about really).

Also, most people have console adaptors for their sticks and don't have the means (or the desire) to go through the trouble of getting their equipment compatible with the PC.

Another problem with emulation is that it forces you to play on the computer. While thats no big deal for most people, others would probably enjoy the experience on their TV moreso than in a cramped computer environment.

Finally, the issue of lag is not really consistant for most people. Its true that some people will never have a good connection, others don't have a problem too much with lag and get the best possible connection for online play against just about anyone.

Honestly, with the advent of Xbox Live I personally see little reason to go through the trouble of any online emulation unless that is the only way to play the game online. Xbox Live makes it too easy to go any other route.

Not everyone has an XBOX/360 though, and emulation with netplay for 3s will be godlike. I have quite a few friends that are dying to play 3s online.

In my opinion, XBL will not die, for the reasons SuperSamyon stated above, as well as the fact that it's much easier to find a random match on XBL than on Kaillera/etc. As for the netplay, XBL is infinitely better than Kaillera. The way Kaillera works is pretty bad, lol.

I think it will bring alot of randomness, while we will see new players it will bring a new range of idiots but at the same time with no ranking system there will be no droppers.
In my opinion XBL may well die, i pay 60 euros for live just to play SF3 really, not bothered with online gaming with any other games, unless its on pc. If emulation is perfect people may cross over but with no training modes etc ...... they will prefer the console

Kaillera has bad latency issues almost every time I've played.

It's OK if you don't have any other options, but compared to XBL, there's no comparison.

I haven't played on emulators in so long but if I remember correctly, they still haven't emulated the CP3 system yet have they? If so, would the emulated version of 3S be the Dreamcast version? If it is then I'd say you're better of playing on XBL then playing the Dreamcast version of 3S anyday. Besides, the lag on XBL isn't bad at all when you're playing people on your side of the country. Also, I think most would agree with everything Malaguena pointed out... dood.
