i need some advice

my name is dan and i live in england,

i am looking to get connected to xbox live so i can play SF3 against new players. I am playing on original xbox and have never connected to xbox live. I went to a couple of local game stores today and they said it is not possible to connnect using an old xbox anymore...

how true is this? i really wanna play online but i dont wanna have to buy a 360 (having said that i might do anyway in anticipation of SF2HD)

also if anyonne could tell me exactly what i need and the best place to get it from that would be great!

If you have a 360 XBL account you could migrate it over to the old xbox so you can use the account on both. Ask one of the fellow Brits on the forum like Naz, or Phix to help you out with specifics if you don't know where to find what you need in England.

Best thing for you to do Dan is either subscribe through your xbox dash or just get a PGR2 or Pro Evo pack thats comes with sub cards , Then all ya gotta do is wack in the code :tup:

1 Ethernet Cable
1 ATM/Credit Card
1 Creative Imagination For An Online Alias
1 Copy Of Street Fighter Anniversary Collection
1 Fairly Good Connection (Well you don't need it...but it would be nice :D )

That's about it, if your still having trouble through the in system prompts you could always call 1-800-4MY-XBOX to sign up.

ok, i went out today and bought an ethernet cable and hooked it up and started to set up my account:

but it gets to the screen where it asks for an activation code and i dont have one - i really wanted to subscribe using my credit card but dont seem to be having any luck

any ideas!

go to the game store and buy a 1 year subscribtion card, or you can buy those 3 month or 1 year packs, that come with a headset and a game. Or look through some game cases and steal a activation card, although i dont know if they still do that.
