Thanks for the link. Angel Densetsu is pretty funny so far, and it's only 15 volumes so I might read all of it. But man, this is the ugliest manga I've ever read. The art is even worse than the first volumes of Claymore. Yagi sure has come a long way.

Seriously though, I'm not one of those "manga > anime" snobs and I still say the Pieta arc in the manga is worth reading. Since you've already watched the anime, you could just skip right to the Clare vs. Rigardo fight (vol. 11) and see how everything goes down for yourself. But if you still want to know:

- Raki was taken to the north by slave traders and, after escaping, heads south with Isley and Priscilla. He never actually walks into Pieta, and we don't know yet if he knows that Isley and Priscilla are awakened beings.

- Clare kills Rigardo only by awakening all of her limbs. She loses control of herself and Jean dies pulling her back in one of the best scenes in the manga. Afterwards, the few remaining Claymores make their last stand against the awakened beings who are still fucking shit up in Pieta. Isley, who is 'watching' from afar, continues south after he senses that all the Claymores have been wiped out.

The anime covers chapters 1-63 and the manga left off at chapter 73. It'll be years before there is enough material to make a 2nd season.

Yes, I totally agree. It's impressive how the staff managed to follow the manga so closely, with no major changes to either the story or characters, while keeping the quality consistently high throughout all of Claymore's 23 episodes.

I know how you feel. As much as I love the manga, going back to it definitely feels like a step down after watching the anime. I don't know if I can cope with the fact that I will no longer hear Raki's pleasing baritone voice. Worse yet, the battles will probably be less epic without the visual of Teresa's head flying off every other minute.

Fuck, I didn't know this thread existed. I was looking for a new anime series to watch, and from a list of streaming anime video sites, just picked this one as it seems interesting. I finished the anime series a couple weeks ago, but from the moment that I saw the first episode I was hooked. Heard of rumors of a second season, and I eagerly wait in anticipation. It's great, I love the dark fantasy and mix of action/violence, story and the psychological parts of the characters. I love how it's also not scared to show gore and such, or nudity if need be. Though, what the fuck is up with Priscilla and eating those people near the end of the series naked? Like bitch suddenly sees a human, strips her self naked and chows down.

in their travels, isley continued to train raki, while unbeknownst to raki is the fact that isley and priscilla are abyssal ones. the entire time priscilla stays attached to raki, just as we see in the first few chapters she's reintroduced. at some point - let's say a few years (enough for raki to grow into a certified badass), raki finally learns the truth. isley, decides to kill raki, as he's now bored of training him, and now that he knows the truth, he'd only be an annoyance. priscilla, now fully attatched to raki, stops and ultimately kills isley for threatening raki (much like she threatened renee). raki reluctantly takes on priscilla as a traveling companion, admonishes her guts-eating, and resumes the search for clare.

Well, she's definently done for. Riful isn't going to let her just walk away now. Rene is either going to turn into an awakened being to serve Riful, or die before from torment before she loses control. That's what I would think but maybe she survives long enough somehow to relay Raki's message to Claire. I'm thinking she encounters Claire's group as an awakened being, they fight, she's beaten and as she lay dying, gives Claire the message.

Riful kidnaps...cornlocks because she excels in Youki sensing. She rips off her limbs and tells her that she wants to know the status of...the merged body of Raphaela and her sister! Apparently when Raph killed her sister she decided to merge with her, but ever since then they both remained in stasis. Riful is unable to kill them so she wants to know WTF is her current situation with the merged twins.
Oh and it looks like an NDS Claymore game will be released next year, hope it'll be good.
